  1. I definitely try doing that but it usually happens around dinner time when hubby is cooking. However the whole family is somewhat eating healthy we don't have any whole milk just skim soy and almond in the house. However I think I am doing too much which has me worried I know I have lifted more than 10lbs numerous amounts of times I bend over due to the kids stuff everywhere and I have walked excessively since day 4. I am not in severe pain so no meds but I am hurting some. I just don't want a hernia at all. :-(
  2. Had surgery April 9th was conversion from band. Band was removed December 11th 2013. I'm mentally hungry. Trying to get my fluid intake is extremely hard. Just don't have the urge to drink. I feel good though in happy so far that I made this choice for conversion. Starting weight well before band 323lb banded 4/1/2013 got down to 230 in June of 2012 but spiked up to 258 in December when band got removed due to complications. Starting weight before vertical sleeve 263 now 243.... AND COUNTING DOWNWARD! :-)
  3. Because it seems really difficult to post pictures and actually view them through iPads or other forms maybe by creating and Instagram where we can post clothes for trade and communicate that way. I have enough time to manage because I would definitely have it private to us and it would allow us to share and see! How do you guys feel about that? And I didn't mention Facebook because It annoys me sometimes lol. I don't know if this is already existing and if so my bad but I just thought it would be a great ideal for visual individuals like me.
  4. My surgeon required 3 months after taking the band out because of the scar tissue with band! I decided at the pre-op that I wanted the sleeve although my insurance approved the gastric we got it switched but he didn't have me do anything besides not gain weight which I didn't but he required 3 months just personally. I was hoping all at once but you want your stomach to relax from the band and if you have reflux you want that to calm down.
  5. Thank you for your reply! ???? I am really trying to be good and my four year old son is making sure everyone knows I cant eat anything just Soup and Water oh and jello! My 19mnth daughter tries to stuff food down my mouth.
  6. Hello I just recently had surgery on April 9th and when my doc came in the next day he told me not to worry about the high Protein intake the nutritionist guidelines says or just focus on full liquid for three weeks. I know he knows I don't like Protein shakes or powders and don't want me to get burnt out but is anybody actually able to take in the 60+ grams a day? If so is it strictly through powder added into everything?
  7. I had my surgery April 9th and I am almost a week into full liquids and its killing me! I don't remember it being this difficult when I was banded three years ago. I'm not hungry just want to chew something. What are some of your diets like with the full liquid? How are you doing on Water intake? Hope everyone is well!
  8. I find myself throwing up all the time so when it's in a public bathroom I take a whole bunch oh toilet seat covers and throw up on them. I couldn't take anymore splashing!
  9. HELLO EVERYONE, I WAS ALSO BANDED ON APRIL FIRST, AND TO BE HONEST I HAVE ONLY HAD ONE Protein SHOT WHICH MY HUSBAND BOUGHT FOR ME FROM WALMART THEY ARE GREAT HAVE 26GRAMS PER SHOT, AND HE ALSO SAYS ON FITNESSFIRSTUSA.COM(IF YOU DONT MIND THE WAIT, THEY HAVE REALLY CHEAP PROTEIN) THEY HAVE THE SAME SHOT THAT HAS 42GRAMS AND THEY ARE VERY INEXPENSIVE. I THINK I AM GOING TO STICK TO THEM, OTHER THAN THAT I HAVE BEEN DRINKING CRYSTAL LIGHT SKIM MILK AND broth. I AM AFRAID TO THROW UP SO I AM AFRAID TO EAT. I HAVE HORRIBLE GAS IN MY CHEST AND WISH IT WOULD JUST COME OUT. I AM STARVING BUT KNOW I WILL GET THROUGH THIS ONCE I GO BACK TO WORK... HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING WELL, AND REMEMBER WALK AT LEAST 20-30MINS A DAY EVEN IF THAT IS IN THE GROCERY STORE.
  10. You will be fine just get some rest or get your place together for when you come home. My date is april 1st I do not have a time yet, but I keep dreaming that the docs is gonna say I am preggers.
  11. My insurance contacted me before they contacted the Doc's, and with that I didnt have a date set for it until they got the approval from my insurance.
  12. I like this forum, My date is april first and i am so excited about it, the only thing that worries me is the fact that my doc didnt give me a pre-op diet... is it required?
  13. My surgery is on APRIL 1ST and my Doc didnt even give me a diet, all he said, was if i lose weight it would be in my benefit and that was it. I am very confident, I am getting my banding done at OHSU so he is a professor and a Surgeon so I am sure he knows what he is doing and will take care of me, however I still want some type of diet, what should I do?
  14. Hello I am willing to be a mentee to a great mentor which i am sure you all are. I live in Portland, OR and I have just got approved for surgery via my insurance TRIWEST. I am 23 years old, one child, married to a Marine! I would highly appreciate any advice and support from a mentor. Lifestyle changes are exciting but scary and I have tons of questions and even concerns. So if anyone is willing to take me as a mentee, I WOULD LOVE TO SHARE MY JOURNEY AND YOURS! BTW/ MY NAME IS DOMINIQUE!
  15. My insurance just contacted me and told me I was approved and met all the requirements however, now I have to lose 5% of my body weight according to the NP, but I wasnt given a diet of anykind, and I was just told to reduce my calorie intake to 1100 from her, but from the nutrition I met she said only to 1800-1600 hundred so now I am confused. I still have no surgery date so I have a question when I meet with the surgeon will he then place me on a preop diet??

Hello ALL, So I have my first two appointments tomorrow, one with the nutritionist which I am not happy that I have to pay 120 to meet with her, is this the only time I have to? And the other appointment is with the nurse. I am hoping to get my psych eval done within the next week along with the blood work. I am trying to at least be apporved before the holidays, Thanksgiving that is! I am sooooo, excited!

  18. HEEEEEEEY!!! I am Dominique and I am in the beggining stages of my Lap-Band experience. I have only been to the class about it and I am excited I did. A lot of my questions were answered however I dont really get to talk one on one with anyone until all my paper work is in, which fraustrates me. I am in Portland, OR and they have this proccess where you dont see the surgent til you have been approved for the surgery, and til your insurance says its ago, which mine is TRICARE which denies people left and right! I am standing strong hoping that everything goes in my favor, because I am ready to start anew. I do have questions to those who have been banded or have talked to a doctor already. I wanted to know how long was the proccess for you and how long were out of work or activities? Also how soon did you start excercising? I AM SO EXCITED and hope to have a date soon. I will keep you all posted! THANKS for having me!:bored:
