  1. you may want to go and check for a stricture problem. . i don't think it would be leak this far along. . . or you may just have the flu or something since it's that season. Good luck and keep us posted. . .
  2. Wow Tiffy, look at you go! You rock girl!!!!
  3. Hi Pete from Boston! Actually you are the only one who can make that decision, but remember this, your doctor said you will probably gain the weight back. Where you happy with 100 lbs more on your body before? Do your really want this for yourself and go back how it was? The surgical route isn't too compromised if your asking for advice. . .so if I were you, I would really think about researching this aspect. . . so many folks have had great luck with the sleeve, I changed my mind from the band to the sleeve and am just waiting for surgery. . . but good luck and like I said the choice and decision is yours. . . you are in full control of your own destiny.
  4. MONA, well doesn't your story sound all too familiar. . .I think the majority of the husbands, including mine, are so worried about the skinny us going off to find someone else. . . it's just the insecurity issues they have. . . maybe a bit jealous cause now men will be actually looking at us and maybe talking to us. . . men are nutty that way. . as far as mine goes I just laugh at him and carry on doing what I am doing. . . he is weird that way (I haven't even been sleeved yet, but we are 19 years apart, he's older) we have been married 30 years I always tell him why in the world would I go out, get someone new to re-train, that is way too much work. . . heavens be! Mine supports me because he is worried about my health, he says he wants me around for some time. . he is so funny gotta love him! Good luck Mona! You'll be so cute and your hubbie will love you tons!
  5. Wow, another lucky girl! You know what just blows my mind? Is that there are sooooo many people getting this sleeve done! Imagine before I only knew about the RNY and lap band, since then I've learned so much about the sleeve. . . it's amazing! I never even knew the thing existed! . . .
  6. I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at that name. . . .reminds me of Hedonism, Jamaica!
  7. Ha, I love the tiny hinney! Can't wait for all of me to be tiny! Hubbie wants me to be no less then 200 lbs but for me I'm sliding down to 175 if at all possible or less. . . by the way I wear size 12-14 at 200 lbs. . . isn't that wild?????? And I have a tiny hinney then too. . . but at 175??? Wow that will be totally amazing I don't think I've ever been at that weight. . . must have jumped from 150 straight to 200 when I was younger! hehehe. . . congratulations DeeDee! Keep up the wonderful work!
  8. Ever seen what happens to a seagull if you put some alka seltzer into a piece of bread and they ingest it?:drool5:
  9. Thank you Chancie for your understanding. . I love to drink everything from water to cokes to juices. . . I'll "learn" to be a lady :drool5:
  10. Well want to have a really good laugh today all? My PCP who might weigh 90 lbs soaking wet, told me when I asked for Phentermine one day, "why? you don't need those, you look fine, your not fat" Ok group, I weigh a whooping 335lbs ok? Yes, I'm 6 feet tall and have the largest bone structure in the world, and have good cholestrol 200, and low bp 116/69 (that is high for me) and blood sugar of 70 or less. . . but really! I'm down right hugh! Then when I brought up the bariatric surgery. . . hahahaha :smilielol5:she said "Oh you definately don't need that!, you look just fine". . I near peed on myself with laughter right then and there. . . she was as solom as ever just watching me laugh. . . makes you wonder about these doctors huh?????
  11. OMG! That is horrible. . .I can see that happening with me! I love my rum and cokes and have for many many many years. . .I can see the doc saying "sorry your liver sucks, it one big Appleton Rum company" :drool5: I don't drink in access but every Friday and Saturday I have a really good drink or two. . . never to drunken stage though. . . that I used to do when I was a teenager. . . yuk now it turns my stomach. . . hopefully all will go well with your liver doctor and you'll be ok to get your surgery. . . nothing is worse then going through the motions and then in a dizzy state of anesthesia be told "you didn't have the surgery" . . . gosh. . . I hope they didn't charge you for it. . . .bless your heart! Keep us informed
  12. Thanks Vegas! That was alot of work on your part! Your a darlin' . . .
  13. Your a nurse too Shanda? Me too, what area do you work in? I'm in public health now, but used to work, OB/gyn, surgery holding, ER, ICU and med/surg
  14. Thanks Vegas, by the way YOU LOOK FANTASTIC. . . just seeing your photos is incentive enough! Keep up the good work!
  15. Hi Tara! One more Welcome! I haven't been sleeved yet either, but let me tell you, this will be my 18th major surgery, and with all 17 previous surgeries I've had gas pains. . like VegasAngel says, it's very important to get up and walk, walk everywhere, and use those arms if the air is there, heat packs help too. . . good luck, a little pain is well worth the outcome . . . blessings to you!
  16. Thank you VA, hearing your side makes me feel better. . . I guess we all get those weirdo days. . .doubting myself is one habit I definately have to break and soon . . . it's a habit which has been installed in me for a very very long time and it's time to break away. . . I broke away from my deep depression, I can do this one too. . . Thank God for all of you! You are my internet "family" without ya'll it would be very hard. . . thanks again! ((()))) hugs:001_wub:
  17. Wow Chancie, you have come a very long way! I'm so proud of you and of all the other people here. . . that is a lot of coke! I had a weekend where I actually started doubting myself and would I actually be able to do this sleeve thingy. . would I just be wasting my money? What happened was that it was a boring weekend and when it's boring I eat, and eat, and eat. . .not the inbetween Snacks but the meals! I sit down for Breakfast and eat! then nothing again for a while til about 4pm, sit down and eat! I mean I don't just eat the meal, it goes on for ever. . . :lol0: get me started and I don't stop. . . not junk food neither (I'm not a junk food person), good old food! ham, eggs, cheese, Beans, meats, etc. . . same with drinking stuff. . . my hubbie always laughs and says "girl you don't need to breath when you drink stuff do you?" It's true, it can be a whole 60oz and if it's yummy I don't stop drinking it until it's all gone. . yup in one swig!:lol0: so this weekend was boring and it made me think too much. . . oh well. . . life goes on huh???? So embarrassing :sad0:, but I'm sure everyone has heard it before!
  18. Isn't it funny that we're talking about preop diets. . . I was just online with my PM friend and she said that it may be important to do this preop diet. . . I was griping away and saying how grouchy I get with diets. . . hungry all the time. . . but after ready ladie's post, I guess I have a choice right? Either be grouchy, do the dang diet and save my liver from injury or other things, or don't be grouchy, don't do the diet, and risk doctor saying no the liver is too big and we can't do the surgery! So I guess the choice is mine huh????
  19. Yes, Charity I have tried the Slim Fast, but guess what they make me gain weight. . . they don't work well for me. . . I don't recommend these drinks at all. . . but you may have better luck with them then I have. . .
  20. Men are so funny! They don't know you even exist when we are overweight, but boy oh boy lose a few pounds and you instantly become a hot momma! hehehe . . . like i said in another post, men get all weird and odd when they don't know how to handle a situation! Gosh. . . Shanda, I read your post to my hubbie and he found it so cute. . . he said "yeah whats wrong with these men now a days!"
  21. Yippee it worked! the picture didn't exactly go where i wanted it to go but that is ok! So now here i am and ya'll can put the name with a face. . . thanks SoCal for that wonderful help. . .
  22. Thank you so much! It helped alot, so lets see if it worked! yup it sure did! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
  23. Welcome Jeff! You've come to the right place, we are here for you any time you need us. . . we'll pray with you, cry with you, rejoice with you, and celebrate every winning inch of your journey. . . I've not been sleeved yet but will be in January. . . I've been battling with weight all my life too and have had my share of displeasures. . . but that will all soon change and I, like you, will metamorph into something great and together we will all win the battle and not have to suffer this monster anymore!
  24. Hooray! Ding Ding the stall is gone, the stall is gone, the evil stall is gone!!:001_tt2::w00t:
  25. yeah, i think that was what might have happened. . . i know if I'm really thirsty and a coke is near by and i drink it all (I'm not sleeved) my belly gets really bloated and uncomfortable. . with hugh belches to follow. . . so if you have a tiny little tummy with staples I can imagine it "breaking" and spilling into the cavity causing a lot of horrid results. . ie death. . . :001_tt2: I don't think I'll be touching cokes after I'm sleeved. . . I hardly drink them now anyhow. . . it's going to be the rum and coke that I'll miss a lot:drool5:. . . but I guess that too shall pass. . . .
