Do NOT feel like a failure. I was banded in 2008, lost 70 pounds, gained 30 back and have not done anything since. I recently rejoined this board for support because I am restarting. We are not the only ones. There are plenty of people that have restarted. First, call your surgeon and get back in with him/her and make sure your band is ok and then go from there! I would definitely think about switching docs. To be overfilled, then dehydrated and hospitalized is not good. When I would get fills in the past, the doc would always make sure I could swallow before leaving. Good luck to you, we are all here for each other. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

I have been having the same problem along with nausea. I had an ultrasound, which showed a fatty liver due to obesity, had an X-ray of my abdomen, they were looking for blockage in my bowels, which was negative and then I had a hidascan. All were normal and my lap band is fine. I returned to my bariatric surgeon and he tried to order a CT scan but my insurance denied it. Now I am not better and there are no answers. I had my lap band surgery in 2008. Initially, I lost 70 pounds. I have gained 30 of it back. My band is still adjusted, I tend to have to purge if I eat too much or do not chew enough. My health is not the best right now, I feel like i am at the end of my rope, therefore, I need support to restart my journey and advise on the best way to begin. I am thinking of doing the 5 day pouch diet. I am open to any suggestions you have to offer. Feeling like this is my last chance, Angela

Ok, I had a fill today and they did a "Pressure Fill" instead of a regular fill. Does anyone know the difference between the two?

My name is Angela. I had my band done on 8/14/08. I have lost 70 pounds since then. I wasn't the most compliant patient after my surgery. In January, I had back surgery and they had to take all the fluid out of my band for me to have my back operated on. I am going in tomorrow to have my band filled back up again and I am going to be more serious about it. I am curious how many calories everyone is taking in daily. My doc suggested I only have 600 calories daily. That seems so low to me. I am looking for some thoughts from everyone here and for support also. Wish me luck!!!!

Yes I definitely burp since I have been banded. Like someone said previously, it seems like when the food goes through, an air bubble comes up!!

Congratulations!!! My anniversary was Aug 14. I have been banded for a year and down 60 pounds also. It is GREAT to be able to go to a store to buy clothes!!!! I am anxious to lose more weight.
