  1. Hi Fellow February Bandsters, My surgery was on the 12th, things went really well, I had a hiatal hernia as it turns out- so that was taken care of at the same time, things were amazingly easy, some gas pains - but nothing Gas Xstrips and walking didn't take care of, I took a few pain pills and I'm back to work today. I'm eating mushies, the funny thing is when the hunger pains start they are really strong, I can only eat a little which is what this was all about so I guess great! So far I would say its all been worth it and I would do it all over again. I think realizing the first 3 days are about sleeping, drinking and walking helped me cope. Best advice is to do what your body is telling you to do. Good luck to everyone!
  2. Pre-op diet is going- that's about all I can say, my head keeps telling me it will be over in another week. The reality is it's just the beginning. I was going along pretty well till I walked into Wegman's last night the smells were enough to make me drool- I got out of there as quickly as possible- barely did any shopping. Looks like the family will be starving too- just kidding. Good luck Patsal
  3. Thanks - But no idea I even had a urinary tract infection- i see my PCP today at 3:30 and hopefully no delays in my surgery-I'm scheduled 2/12. Looking forward to walking the halls Patsal- getting very anxious! How is your pre-op diet going?
  4. I really enjoyed the poem- thanks for sharing. I'm in day 5 of the pre-op diet- just got lab result from pre-op testing and I have a urinary tract infection. I have to take antibitoics and because my stomach is empty (well empty for me) its making me very nauseous. Thanks for the encouragement!
  5. My surgery is scheduled 2/12, did exercise/nutrition class and pre-op testing, just need med clearance from my PCP on 2/3, but I haven't decided yet on which band, surgeon has left it up to me. He thinks Realize because of the tools on the web site but says its entirely my decision. I've gone to the website a few times and really don't like it- or maybe not comfortable to me! Not sure which but whatever I decide I know I'll stay with this site- soooo much support and very user friendly.
  6. So sorry curlicue! That's terrible news, but you have the right idea- just a bump in the grand scheme of things. Hope you hear soon about the new date. Good luck
  7. Hi everyone, Going tonight to shop for pre-op diet food, getting nervous!!! Seems very real now, keep thinking what food would I like to eat most - before, really trying to stop thinking like that.

  12. Hi, I found out last week my surgery date is 2/12, I very nervous. My daughter just had LBS 12/10 so at least I have some up close experience, she's doing great! She started exercising and is trying to handle no restriction, but I'm still very anxious!!!! and concerned about the 2 week liquid diet my surgeon requires. We'll be great, Good Luck to all of us:thumbup:
  13. Thank you all so much esp Outside Looking In- as always this site is so full of pratical advice and info. I'm going to read through all the info the surgeon provided and keep in mind what you've all said- Thanks again!
  14. I just had my appointment with my surgeon and he basically left it up to me whether I want Lapband or Realize band- he believes they are equal and more an issue of support post-op. Hoping all of you may have an opinion you'd like to share. Thank you!
  15. Congratulations! It sounds like you have a very thoughtful surgeon/staff. Hope you have continued success. I love to read posts like this makes me feel really good about the decision I've made. Thank you and keep us informed.
