Hi everyone!! Very hectic past couple of weeks! My surgery is in 5 days!! YAY!! I went yesterday for pre-op registration. I was there for almost 3 hours...ugh! Been doing ok on my high protein diet....moving on to liquids tomorrow for 4 days. I love reading about how everyone did with surgery and how everyone is doing! Do we have a name yet for september bandsters?

My surgery is 9-23!! We are close...I am getting really nervous too!! This is my first surgery and only time in the hospital:ohmy:

I am 9 days away as well...I am starting to feel nervous, anxious as well. This is my first surgery and first time in the hospital for anything. I love Muscle Milk shakes as well!! Yummy My doc does not require a pre-op diet, but my nut has put me on low carb etc... I am going to do a 4 day liquid pre-op. Good luck and since we are all so close we should keep in touch!!!!

I am self pay also and required to stay 1 night after surgery. I also have up to a 3 night stay included. I did not even think about what happens if I don't use it...hmmmm...guess it is there "just in case". My surgery is September 23rd.... Good luck with your surgery!!

Hi!! Just knowing that you qualify and that you are going to be scheduled is great! My insurance wouldn't cover me unless I waited too...didn't want to wait so self pay!! Happy early birthday and this will make you have many more of them to look forward too!

I agree with this statement...I want the band to work so I want the food to stay above the band until it is ready to slowly move through for digestion! I can see starting with small bites, but I couldn't immagine cutting a bite as small as a pea....

I like fitday dot com!! Works for tracking food etc...

Wow...the size of a green pea....I am really going to have to practice!! My nut said to view the opening as small as the hole in a standard kitchen funnel or the size of a dime and if you swallow a bite bigger than this it will get stuck!! We can do it!! :laugh:

I love my massages and go every 2 weeks or so for my massage...sometimes more often:eek: How long do I have to wait before going to get a massage after surgery? I was thinking 4-6 weeks...any thoughts? I have a very stressfu job and LIVE for my massages!! Thanks

I have my surgery on Sept 23rd and I am really worried about chewing after surgery... I am a fast eater and don't chew well I know I will be on soft food for about 2 or more weeks, but I have been trying to chew my food really well as practice and I can't seem to get it right...I still feel like I have larger pieces that I am swallowing Help...any tips??

I also fluctuate about 5-10lbs depending on the TOM for me. I only use my weight first thing in the AM for my official weight keeping.

I am being banded on Sept 23rd!! I am feeing nervous too and have been trying to eat like I am banded...small portions..practicing chewing, drinking shakes for meals..etc... I think having support is so important and congrats on your surgery date :mad:

It seems like you have your head on straight and that you are doing your research! I have my surgery scheduled for the 23rd!!:sad: I have a picture like the one you describe. I have vowed to make it my before picture!! I also agree with 123crod about having a support system even if it is 1 person. I (my own personal decision) am only telling close friends and family. I am not telling people at my place of employment and I am not telling aquaintences or strangers. I have a VERY strong support system with my friends and family!! Good luck with your learning session and making the right decision for you!! :mad:
