  1. Just got mine in from Laurens Hope today and I REALLY Like it . Its very nice. I really like the idea of the banks being interchangeable . Espically as I (we) loose weight if we need a smaller bracelet I can order one . It looks really nice Mindy
  2. AWESOME . I just PMed you back. That's great. !!!! Mindy
  3. Thanks Yankeefan, Have you or anyone else on here tried a Neti Pot ? I saw them on Oprah , I bought one but keep forgetting to use it daily . It does seem to work some. I think w/ a combo of meds it might work well. Its a "Nasal" flush basically . sounds really fun i know lol Google Neti Pot or see it on Oprahs site. I have an appt at 230 today w/ my primary care doc to see if he can give me something . Thanks for everyone's help Mindy
  4. Thanks Im going to make an appt tomorow for my primary care doc and see if i cant get on some zyrtec or something for it. Claritin doesnt really do it for me either. Thanks for your help Mindy
  5. Im curious about this as well. I know its not the best thing to do . But people do vomit. I have migraines and I sometimes vomit from migraines. My doc gave me plenty of phenegran . But sometimes you cant help it Mindy
  6. I have a friend who was having major problems w/ this after she was banded (not banded yet myself will be in july) she was telling me all the problems she was having that her husband was not doing . The questions I asked her was , Have you told him what he's not doing ? Basically their issues were he was not meeting up to HER expectations that SHE had for him. But it wasnt anything he had been doing differently than before. My husband is not the kind who tells me often he loves me , he shows me alot in different ways . He's not one to kiss me often , or hug me . So Im not expecting more of that as I loose weight. . So i guess my suggestion , not being in your shoes QUITE yet, is to tell him how you feel first, what your expecting, if he's not the kind to normally tell you these things, let him know that you need more of that now. I dont think your ever "Doomed" as long as both of ya'll are still willing to work on it . See if he's willing to go to a support group or counseling w/ you. Marriage counseling saved my marriage several yrs ago . HTH Feel free to IM Me if you like . Love ya Mindy
  7. OH one more thing, did you notice it get worse or stay the same after surgery ? Thanks Mindy
  8. i talked to my doc about it a little bit, but we didnt go into alot of detail . He asked me how bad it was I told him it was mainly in the morning. He told me to take clairitain or something. I Live in texas so allergies are part of life around here. some times are worse than others. thanks for the help, im going to be sure to get something quick lol Mindy
  9. Thank you Boo Boo Kitty for your quick response. I will go to my primary care MD next week and get an RX now. Im assuming if it bothers me after surgery , right after i can take liquid benedryrl. Thanks again Mindy
  10. I have a question... Im going to be banded on the 16th. I have heard some people have problems w/ their bands and sinus drainage or post nasal drip . I have some of it its usually in the morning . Does anyone have any tips, tricks ways to help this ? Do they just take something every night, day for this ? Thanks in advance Mindy
  11. Thank you all so much . It feels like forever . It was funny I have learned so much from everyone on this board, I feel so prepared for the surgery . But when the surgeon asked me if i wanted to move the date up , i paniced and thought " I dont think im ready " LOL Im prepared but nervous as well. Thanks to this forum I feel VERY prepared and ready for this. Love ya Mindy

  13. After 2 yrs of waiting and ups and downs IM HAVING SURGERY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! JULY 16th. The day after my son's 15th birthday . I CANT BELIEVE IT . I cant hardly wait. I have waited for so long. I had my pre op appt today . My doc should have my loan check tomorow . ITS GONNA HAPPEN. Im going to be a loser soon . Mindy:clap2::faint:
  14. I had one of the ones similar to yours and it was better than the "normal" cpap masks as it didnt make me feel like I was sufficating but it was still not very comfortable. I highly recommend this one Respironics Comfort Curve Nasal Interface I see you have found CPAP.com. I also recommend these to go along w/ it SnuggleStrap CPAP Mask Strap Covers (1 Pair) and one last thing. you will think Im nuts But I promise you , these 3 things combined makes for THE BEST Sleep I have ever had . Its a Cpap Pillow http://splintek.com/pillowsatisfied.html It forms around your mask so it doesnt push it up against your face. Its pricey but I PROMISE You SO Worth it. Some one else told me about it. These 3 things combined I cant sleep w/ out. I hope that helps Mindy
  15. That's interesting , I will have to ask my doc about this on thursday . Thanks for your input Mindy
  16. The statistic I saw said 57% of migraine suffers resolve after WLS . I have not seen or heard anything about them getting worse . YIKES i dont know if i can take that. Are you eating more foods w/ preservatives than prevoiously ? MSG is a huge trigger for me , the problem is MSG is hidden in a ton of names in foods. Are you drinking alot of Protein shakes ? whey protein has alot of MSG in it . What I would do is do a food diary for about a week and monitor your migraines along w/ your diet . See if there is a pattern. Google " MSG Hidden names " Or Foods w/ MSG " and you might be surprised what it is in . HTH Mindy
  17. Topamax has given me my life back as far as migraines go. it took me 11 yrs to find a preventative that worked. They cut my migraines from 4-5 a week to 2-3 a month. Im also on Wellbutrin for anxiety/depression due to migraines and it helps as well w/ migraines. I havent tried Zoloft though. OH I Know what your talkikng about w/ migraines and Nitrates. If i have MSG zip me up and put me in a body bag. MSG is the WORST thing for me and migraines. I'll end up in the ER EVERY TIME . I also get cluster migraines. Migraines that last for WEEKS, every day . Nothing you do gets rid of them ... HORRIBLE. If you want feel free to IM Me or email me , i would love to keep in contact w/ you post op to see how you do w/ your migraines. I hope you do well. Thanks for your input . Love Mindy
  18. My migraines are hormone related. Im not quite sure if they are specifically related or not . They do get much worse during my periods. I kind of except my migraines to become worse post op for a number of reasons. Anytime I change anything in my diet, life style ect my migraines get worse. So im going to try to up my topamax dose , probably double it ( im going to go talk to my doc first) and see if that might help . Also ive got to really look around for broth, Soups , im HIGHLY affected my MSG. I started to grab some bullion cubes tonight , and looked at the ingredients first , there it was MSG . CRAP. So I have to buy the pre made Organic . EXPENSIVE broths and soups for post op. I can all but guarantee the during the liquid stages Im going to probably have a constant migraine. Im not looking forward to it. I can suffer through it though . I thought about the eating better might help as well. So even if it helps a little bit its is better. Thanks for your input I appreciate it . Mindy
  19. I heard this weekend that people who have migraines and have WLS that 57% of their migraines resolve after surgery . Has anyone heard this statistic ? Or has anyone who has had migraines for most of their lives found that after surgery their migraines have either gotten less frequent or gone away all together ? I have had migraines since I was 11 on average 2 days a week. Im on Topamax now to prevent them , off my meds I get them 3-5 times a week. I just for the life of me could not figure out why migraines , for someone who has had them most of their lives , why they would get better after something like lap band surgery ..... Granted it would be a HUGE Bonus . Any Thoughts ? input ? thanks for your help . Mindy
  20. Ok thank you for your help. Im going to have to check into this . I have migraines and Aleve, Motrin , ect are usually my first step in my migraine regimen. So im going to ask my doc about this . Thanks Mindy
  21. I have a question for those either who have a medical alert or who are going to get one ... What is the reason behind the no NSAIDS ? Im going to be banded soon and I have always thought a Medical ID was a good idea. So i plan on ordering mine before hand. But was curious why no NSAIDS ? thanks Mindy
  22. Wheewww , I totally feel better now LOL I just spoke to my Surgeon . things are looking good . He said to have medicredit call him asap . That if it is just a matter of fee's its not a problem . SO I feel better. He said if its more of an issue than fee's we'll talk after that and see what can be worked out , but in most cases its fee's and that's not an issue at all. I told him i was willing to pick up any fee's he might have for the financing and he said we could talk about that. He's a new private practice . If it costs me an extra few hundred bucks I dont mind. So I'll let ya'll know when i know for sure. But its looking like in less than 60 days !!! Thanks Mindy
  23. My loan is only for $8000, They surgery is $12000 . Im going to pay the remaining $4000 out of pocket and I will suggest to my doc that I will be happy to pay any costs he has to pay up to $1000. Im already getting off cheap because his surgery only costs $12,000. So its worth it if i have to pay his fee's to accept my financing. So maybe that will help make his decision . GOSH Im so anxious and nervous i feel like throwing up . I SO DO not want to find another surgeon I LOVE my surgeon . Wish my luck. Thanks for your help Mindy
  24. I tried Capital one they denied me due to a bankcruptcy 2 yrs ago . Medicredit is more BK friendly . Thanks Mindy
  25. was your doc on their "Provider list" ? Im So TICKED at my husband . I was waiting for my doc to call me back and I asked DH to go to the store for me and he said he was "Busy" the MINTUE i left the house MY DOC CALLS. Im waiting for him to call me back. I just want to know i can still use my doc. UGHH I hate THIS . If you used medicredit and your doc wasnt on their list i'll feel better LOL Mindy
