Thanks Chris, I am taking the liquid. I am only taking it if I have to . I have taken it maybe 3 times since I have been home. I am very Leary about vicodin post op anyway . My mom had a Upper and lower bowel obstruction a few yrs ago . They believe one of the contributing factors was the vicodin she was on a few weeks earlier from her gallbladder surgery . Her docs said that vicodin sucks that water out of ur system . They think she had started to become blocked and the Vicodin sucked the water out of what ever was causing the obstruction . Long story short, she almost died and spent 3 weeks in the hospital . So i am very cautious of the stuff. I have been taking some Tylenol. So I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks Jeannie, I do not think I had a catheter . I dont remeber them putting one in . IF they did they took it out before I woke up . But im assuming its just from surgery slowing things down. Thanks again , im not really worried about it now . If everyone said " oh no dont know what your talking about " i would be worried . Love mindy

HI all I was banded yesterday FINALLY . But was wondering if anyone else had this going on post op ? Ok this might sound like a strange question but i want to make sure im not nuts. Im sure its because I am not bringing in as much liquids as I have been in the previous days. But I have been feeling like I need to pee really bad , then when I go to go to the bathroom i just trickle out a little , Then i'll go walk about some and I have to go more. Im thinking it might be because my stomach muscles are kind of weak and are not pushing "like they use to " has anyone else had this feeling ? Just want to make sure its nothing to worry about . I have told most people Im close to , My friends family , ect. Someone had told my grand mother quite some time ago that I was thinking of having it done and she had some pretty negative things to say . I pretty much told her what i thought of it . She called tonight to tell my son happy birthday ( I assumed my dad told her my surgery is Monday ) ... NOT . He didnt. So when I said something about it her comment was" OH Mindy are you SURE You want to do that " I told her " LOOK I am doing this , if you dont agree w/ it that's your right I however do not want to hear anything negative ESPICALLY 3 days before my surgery so keep them to yourself" See my DAD was too CHICKEN to say anything to his mother about it because he didnt want to hear it from her. I Dont really care who knows . Both of my parents however are choosing to NOT tell people. I did tell them though , if those people find out from ME That's YOUR Problem LOL Mindy

Yeah I had seen the other one . I dont know how much of a "game" it is either. But it does sound like more fun that some other forms of exersise i can think of lol Thanks FaithMD Mindy

This is a specific Exercise Game for the Wii which is why I posted it . It comes w/ a "pad " that you can do yoga , push ups , step aerobics, it has about 40 mini games w/ it . It has not come out yet. I imagine its going to be hard to find at first. Thanks for the other thread Mindy

After our conversations I picked a few of these up the other day . I picked up the ice tea and the Lemonade. I can use the lemonade if i use half of the package but the ice tea and the full package of lemonade gives me a migraine . I SO Hate my migraines I cant eat or drink "Normal" stuff. On the upside I found the Stevia Sweetner so im going to try that. "red' Stuff for some reason gives people trouble. Next time i'll have to ask my doc if he know's what the reason is ? Mindy

Does anyone else feel like they are not doing well on the pre op ? I think im doing OK but not well enough . IM more afraid of my liver not being small enough . For Some reason I have that stuck in my head. Im seriously considering doing a all liquid 2 days before surgery . Im cheating here and there , nothing major no binges like Saturday I had half a donut for breakfast. But I feel like im not doing something right. I have never been able to loose weight due to PCOS so the fact that ive been able to loose 6lbs in 2 weeks should be great. But nothings has come off since the first week. Im drinking more water than i have ever drank in my life . I just feel like im not doing well ? Anyone else feel this way ? HELP Mindy

From what I can gather from what he's told me so far , ( I have had this problem as well ) It really seems like the issue is when he doesnt chew his food well ( Although I dont think he realizes this is the issue ? Im guessing) it gets stuck or feels like its stuck in his throat and sends shooting pains across his chest . . I'll try to find out some more info . Thanks for your response . Mindy

8 1/2 More Days until Surgery !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW I cant belielve its that soon . It seems like forever though at the same time. I hope this week goes by fast. I think it will I have lots of stuff to do . My sons 15th Birth day is the day before my surgery so i have stuff to do for his bday . Friends want to take me to "lunch" i guess they think i cant eat ever again after surgery lol . OOHHHHH Its happening soon . Im trying to catch up , geez ya'll are quick typers ! LOL Love mindy

Hell I cant do that now and I havent had surgery yet !!! ROFLMAO I cant paint my toes w/ out cutting off circulation to my head .!!!!!!!!!! I carry my weight in my stomach too thanks to good ole PCOS . People mistake me for being pregnant even before surgery . In fact that was the last straw for me. I saw an old friend of mine( male of course) he touched my stomach and said " How far along are you " I told him " Im not pregnant " He said " OH sorry the only time ive seen you THAT Big was when you were pregnant" OHHH GAWD I was horrified . That was the last straw for me , that's when I started looking into surgery . Im going tomorow for a pedi before surgery !LOL mindy

I have a list of dream clothes LOL Im w/ the Victorias Secret . I HATE Bras and I hate underwires. Victorias Secret Has a " No Wire" under Wire Bra that Looks SO comfy , from what I hear it is . But guess what , doesnt come in my size. So I want one of those . A pair of cute jeans , and those cute tank tops everyone wears now . OH and those cute tank top loose fitting dresses the "younger" 20ish girls wear now . LOL Those are my tops on the list . I have a 15 yr old sister and I go to Old Navy w/ her all the time I would LOVE to go in there w/ her and not feel like everyone is looking at me like " What are you doing in here fat a$$ " Mindy

That was the one thing I Didnt like about the one I got from Laurens Hope was having to take it off. I think in September Im going to get the one I wanted from James Avery which was around $150 , We have lots of bills right now having to be self pay w/ surgery . So I'll get that for my bday . Plus its more " medical Id" Looking . which I like. But I didnt get the beaded kind I got a plain Black Band from Laurens Hope. Let us know what yours looks like. Sorry Im trying to catch up and not doing a good job at it LOL Mindy

LOL Your welcome, Its probably more info that you wanted. I cant hardly eat anything " pre made" due to my migraines . I wish I could i love Lemonade . Good luck Mindy

Ok just looking kind of quickly . The Fruit punch has several different types of sweeteners in it , as opposed to the lemonade who just has one (Aspertame) which is not real great for you if your susptiable to headaches . But the fruit punch lists about 3 or 4 different types of sweeteners one of them being MSG. So Im betting that is the issue. Just a guess . Now that Ive thought about it .... Other "red" drinks bother me too . Gatorade, Red Kool aid . I wonder if other red drinks have more sweetners in it ? It might be that and the dye combo ? Interesting ... HTH Mindy

you Might want to look at the ingredients, There might be a different kind of sweetener in that specific kind than the other ones. I can drink Country Time Lemonade but no other kind of drinks . It has artifical sweetener in it but I can still drink it. that flavor might have more sweetener in it than the others as well. MSG is a HUGE trigger for me . The problem is MSG is under about 100 different names in ingredients . It might have MSG in it ? Or as someone else said it might be the Red Dye which is really bad for you . I can look and see if i can find the ingredients list and see if i can find anything in regards to the sweetners ? HTH Mindy

Its probably the Artificial sweetener in it . I cant drink any of the crystal light type drinks or anything similar to it. Even sweet tea or anything w/ splenda, ect , I have chronic migraines and the artificial sweeteners are horrid on my head. There is a sweetener my nutritionist told me about called Stevia . I have not tried it yet but I plan to its all natural and is suppose to work well . So i plan on getting it my next trip to the store. You might want to try that. Someone told me to try squeezing lemons and using stevia to make lemonade. The artificial stuff i just cant handle. Hope that helps Mindy

My BIL Is checking into having lap band surgery . As I have been telling him about it one of the things he's a bit worried about is he has a Spastic Esophagus now. So im wondering if anyone has this prior to surgery and if it affected your surgery at all . Made it worse, made it better ? Anything . I have been searching the threads and I see some peoples esophagus' become spastic post op . But I dont see anything that says anyone had this condition prior to surgery . Thanks for your help Mindy

AWESOME im glad I found someone else w/ the same surgery date. I have been talking to someone else that has July 16th . She's not on a pre op as of yet. It is better now than before. Im still pretty hungry in the evening . But ive been drinking water more , i tend to forget it . Feel free to PM me sunshinesonya we can keep in touch and commiserate during our post op days. I'll explain my screen name since most people think initially im a man LOL colton is my youngest sons' first name and wade is one of his middle names and also my oldest son's middle name , Colton Joshua Wade .(Last name) Tyler Wade ( Last name) are thier names So i combined the 2. Colton has 2 names because he was just going to be Colton Joshua after my husbands best friend , my best friends son died 22 days before I had my son . I INSISTED on the way to the hospital that we give him his middle name which was Wade which was also my oldest son's name , has double meaning. I just always use coltonwade on forums . You know that's funny you mentioned body pillows. I was at Beds Bath and Beyond the other night and I got one of those pillows that allow you to sit up and lean back w/ the little arms on the side , ( thought it might be good for lap top time post op) and next to them was the body pillows. I thought " humm i wonder if i should get one of those"? Again at walmart last night , I saw them , it was like they were calling to me " get me " LOL I Guess I should go get one now .
