If the nurse is saying something different than what he said then i would demand to talk to him , or you said you were going in to see him soon , i would speak to him AND tell him what the nurse is telling you . HECK I would call HER into the room with him and say " NOW what did you tell ME " This is the kind of thing that makes people freak out for no reason especially if its not accurate info. Its his responsibility as a doctor to make sure his staff is giving out accurate info . I would also make sure on his fill policy in general . Is HE going to dictate your fills souly or is he going to help you decide when its a good time to get a fill in conjunction with you ?? I really think this nurse doesnt know what she's talking about , and you need to speak to the doc, the nurse needs to be given the correct info ! An NG tube is a tube that goes down your nose into your stomach , its different than a trach , a trach helps you breathe. An NG Tube is use for feeding, meds , anything you might need to use orally if for some reason you are unconscious and cant take care of yourself or are unable to eat or drink on your own . Nasogastric intubation is a medical process involving the insertion of a plastic tube (nasogastric tube, NG tube) through the nose, past the throat, and down into the stomach. That is the purpose of medical Id bracelets . Some say what's the point if your life is in danger , perforating your esophagus for no reason when you simply need a bracelet a no brainer for me . A lot of ER's do not know a lot about Lap Band , so if they see a Medical ID bracelet that explains to them what NOT to do , that is enough . does that make sense ?? Mindy

I think i would ask to talk to my doc first. Second this is something that should have been discussed or you should have known before hand ? NOW keep in mind what your in right now IS Bandster Hell . Which is quite normal for the time period you are right after surgery . Have you thought IF you have to do this for another few weeks about going to counseling to help deal with food so you dont binge ? I would also ask him what is going to happen after the first fill ? Is HE always going to decide when you get a fill ? You need to know that ?? Mindy

Call your doctor if its not going away . That is what they are there for . These boards are great but lets face it we are not there and we are not MD's. CALL YOUR DOC just to be safe , its probably nothing. Mindy

Im very sorry you are feeling the way you are now. I want to say be CAREFUL with shopping to make feel "better" You can get into a dangerous cycle and possible addiction by replacing shopping with food. I sometimes just worry about shopping myself once i get to goal becoming a problem. SO just be aware. I use to use working out as a stress reliever. Honestly I need to find something myself to learn to help me deal with stress. Im thinking about yoga . Mindy

I had 1.4 in my first fill in my 4cc band and I Could tell a difference. I went for my second fill he put 2cc's in and it was WAY TOO tight , i had to get a slight unfill down to 1.6cc. So far things r good on the unfill. I could tell quite a bit of difference with the first fill . Good luck on your fills mindy

Is anyone with the laurens hope bracelet intersted in doing a swap or something for a smaller band for me ?? Mine is too big now and I need a smaller one . So far we have about 5 people. Im thinking probably wont do anything until after the Holidays ?? Some people like yourself and my friend Tina have to heal from surgery , she's being banded in 6 days. So that gives everyone time to be ready and focus on it and not the holidays. Mindy

this is a great idea ... Let me see good to think about 1. Im down almost 45 lbs in less than 5 months 2. I quit smoking ( prior to surgery but for surgery ) 3. I no longer drink a 6 pack of sodas a day 4. I have more energy 5. Walked a mile around the block and My son gave out before I did on Halloween . 6 . I enjoy going clothes shopping 7 , I can shop in "Normal" size stores now 8. my hips and back do not hurt anymore 9. I am no longer hot all the time , im actually COLD LOL I think that's all i can think of Mindy

Yep Walmart has them also you can go to bolthouse.com and find where they are sold near you . Walgreens has them as well . Mindy

I have not tried the Vanilla since i dont really care for Vanilla drinks much anyway . I LOVE LOVE The Mocha and the Hazelnut though . I would ask the stores you get the Mocha at if they can get you the Hazelnut ? Glad you liked them Mindy

it can also take up to 2 weeks for your fill to "Kick" in . Be patient. My first fill i could tell a difference ( I also have a 4cc band) But it was not a major difference. I could tell I could eat Less than after surgery and that was less than before surgery if that makes sense. Then when that "wore" off I could eat A Lot but it was still less than before surgery . I just had to get a slight unfill Monday because i was too tight. So dont be SO Quick to get another fill. Give it a little more time. If after another week or so you are still not having any restriction then ask your doc for another fill HTH Mindy

you dont remember what it was you ate that got you feeling stuck to begin with ? Maybe it was something that you cant tolerate ? I for instance can not tolerate eggs . They get stuck every time . Do you have any Gas X ? Maybe try some Gas X ??? Just a thought , I hope your doc replys by morning , if not Call him Mindy

Anyone in the Austin area interested in meeting up with other Austin bandsters once or twice a month for some one on one support ? A few Austin bandsters and I were talking that in less you belong to a few certain practices in Austin there are no local support groups for WLS . SO we thought about maybe getting together once a month , possibly even rotating peoples houses to not have to pay for meeting somewhere, and just get together to support each other . First off have you called your doc ?Second after only 4 weeks are you suppose to be eating anything ? If you have not called your doc I would. NOW It MIGHT Be gas ? But Might not . I would call your doc ASAP . Mindy

dont be fooled by the way she looks. People do not have to look a certain way to be on drugs. if she does not use it constantly or if she just started using it she may not " look" like a drug user. Cocoaine generally does not make people look like a drug user for quite some time .. HTH Mindy

Im not a coffee drinker either, these do not have a strong flavor , I really think you might like thse. They are in the produce section of the grocery store. they are hard to explain . sort of a mix of milk shake and frapachino lol I like these because they dont taste like other stuff. I also like carnation instant breakfast LOL Mindy

try the bolt house. The 3 i mentioned above are the only one's w/ protein . The mocha and the hazel nut taste JUST LIKE a frappachino .. they are SO GOOD . NO protein taste at all . Mindy

These are my FAVORITE FAVORITE thing . They are a little high in calories but for breakfast they should be fine. The sugar is a little high too . But again for someone like myself as well that doesn't eat breakfast they are fine for me. Agree with Kacee,It makes it worse and does not help . Probably makes things hurt worse too. After I did that the middle of my chest hurt for 3 days. Mindy
