Normally what we do on another board im on is just pay shipping for the clothes. If your going to charge then each person needs to set their own price i think . People might have some nicer things than others . So saying ok $1 for pants is too much of a blanket statement . In my opinion . But I think for a true clothing swap paying shipping is the way to go Mindy

OH YES It slowed him down . WAY Down I think he slept all Saturday half of Sunday , he was feeling a lot better today . He bounces back quickly. Had to take Tyler to get contacts , he told me "after 15 yrs of not seeing I can see now , good thing I dont have a girlfriend i Might find out she's ugly " LMAO just FYI for those of ya'll my oldest son is legally blind in his left eye , has had 2 eye surgeries and HATES Glasses wont wear them . BUT hes started drivers ed so HAS to wear them to drive. We got him contacts and he is SO Happy with how well he can see. hes NOT seen for 15 yrs bascially . Anyway , the run sounds challenging ! So I spoke to my doc today about running the race. He said that I probably wont be 100% for about another week . Given the race is in less than 2 weeks Im thinking actually running the race is not looking really good. I tried to even walk on the treadmill today and though i would die, that is when i called the doc. he said not to try to exercise until next week. So Looks like i'll be walking the race . I'll try to run a little. I guess my new goal will be to run the one in March ?? Im frustrated now . Aggervated and tired of not feeling well. Im feeling a little better, was able to get out and take my oldest to an appt today . OH We had to take my 6 yr old to the ER last night, he was running a 104.9 fever that I could not get to break . Turns out HE's got walking pnemonia , luckily he's not in near the shape I was in AND he has an ear infection . Anywho . Im glad to see a newbie joining . And everyone else doing well. Love Mindy

I dont think trading from one person to another. but trading amoung the board members . Sort of look at it as at least someone in the family can use it ? Mindy

Now dont get me wrong LOL I dont think any one is "better" than the other, I think both systems has its faults and both have their bonus. I personally go to docs that are VERY Good with me because I dont have the best RX coverage or when I didnt have insurance at all , they did what ever they could to help me out and make it financially easier on me. Doctors in general i have found do not like the insurance industry because it takes away from their job of CARING for patients. I think in general the problem is making " general " statements or sterotypes that dont apply to all docs on both sides of the border hurts ALL the other docs. Its like saying "ALL Mexican docs are FILTHY butchers " that's not true . Or "ALL American docs are SO AWESOME ' Well that's not true. If those kind of generlizations can stop then accurate info can get out about BOTH sides of the border. Didnt mean anything personally against you Kirajh just following up sort of on your statement. But that's for agreeing with me !

Im not sure why its so hard to belive that medical care in Mexico is so horrible. Granted I was not banded there , But I get tired of people bashing ( not that you are ) mexican docs or mexican hospitals when they do not know what they are talking about . Have you SEEN some of the hospitals in the US? They are VERY Dirty and have very poor care. Poor care and poor quality of care can happen ANYWHERE. So are docs and hospitals in England Bad because someone has not personally experienced them ? I just think before people make statements about things like this they should KNOW what they are talking about . Would I go to Mexico Or ANY doctor with out doing my research ? NO . Do you HAVE To do your research ? YES . You can walk into a butcher here in the US . I know docs here in my town that all my friends who are nurses would not DREAM Of going to . As for making SURE you only go to US trained docs , Again US trained does NOT mean superior . And I would not be 100% sure or satisfied now that a doc is not trained out side the US because SO Many are NOT . And as a Not so newbie on this site I too find it hard to determine who is a patient coorditnator , although its getting EASIER . if you look at some peoples posts and ALL They do is say " Try this doc go to this doc " and that is ALL they are posting, chance are its a coordinator " So your not along there. Personally those kind of docs are not the kind of doc i would want to go to that have to drum up business that way . So your not along on that issue thats for sure LOL . Mindy Mindy

Sometimes people on here need to realize that the internet does not allow for peoples personalities to come through and emotions to come through in their typing. Umm Im sorry honey but i think YOU have the Burr in YOUR saddle. Wasa simply stated why she did not agree with YOU . I dont see ANY REASON why you need to get so pissy with her or anyone else ? I am just as happy with my surgeron as the next person , but I also do not think that MY Doc is the ONLY doc or the ONLY way to go . I dont belive that since i was banded in the US that Mexico is Crap either. If you can afford to travel to Co and get your fills and you can see your family I think that is just fine and wonderful. I think you need to reread things before you speak because WASA was in NO WAY UGLY and in NO WAY Deserved what you just handed out to her . Mindy .

You would be surprised how many US docs are NOT Trained in the US . my surgeon , i had surgery in San Antonio TX was trained by a Mexican Doc. He's an EXCELLENT Surgeon . Lots of docs go over seas to get their education and then come to the US to practice. US does not always mean better. Like WASA said Dr K is a great doc from what i have seen and heard but JUST because he's a US doc or anyone else is a US doc does NOT make him superior to someone trained out side the US. HTH Mindy

I agree with WASA I think you already said what your main problem is . Your NOT EXERCISING ! If you look at others like you said who had surgery before or after you and have lost more weight then you , i can all but gurantee you that they are moving. I HATE Exercising more than anything. But I do it . I know if i dont my scale stops moving. And lets face it no one wants to do it MORE than you have to . So once you start doing it you will get a feel out of what you HAVE To do and what you Dont HAVE To do to keep the scale moving. For me 2-3 days a week and is good for me . If i dont do anything my scale wont move. So stop beating yourself up and GET MOVING !!!! :biggrin: Mindy

The explanation they gave me was because of "possible complactions that might come up " and a STUPID example they gave was say i ended up with Osteoporosis , they would have no way of knowing if it was due to the "malabsorbstion of the Vitamin D from the lap band " or if i just came down with the osteoporosis . I told my agent that's not even an ISSUE for lap band patients. She said well that's what the underwriter told me . Basically they dont want to cover it so they dont have it. She did say once lap band surgery had been around in the US for about 10 yrs that it might change. The insurance industry likes to look at 10 yrs of results. As of 3 weeks or so of looking I cant find anyone to cover me with it ! Mindy

Hi everyone , Just wanted to pop in and say Hi, My training is on hold for now . Remeber my "allergies" that were giving me problems for a few weeks. Well I kept getting worse and kept getting worse and it moved into my chest. I went to the doc yesterday and I have pnemonia So i dont know what is going to happen. I will have to start slowly again I guess ? As for the race coming up My goal now is to just finish it even walking. So just wanted to update ya'll im going back to bed ! Love Mindy

I beive its called a Mini Med policy i looked into it too but not all policies cover it. Also most of the time you have to pay for it first. Also just FYI since you said your not employed and do not have insurnace as of right now . If you do not plan on getting on a group plan after your surgery or if you need insurance soon , get it before surgery . After surgery its nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get insurance , I have not found a plan that will cover me . Im deemed " Permanatly Un insurable" now that i have my lap band with private health insurance with my insurance agent ( Stat Farm ) and the insurance they carry . I have to be on the Texas High Risk Health Pool Insurance . Group plans have to cover you because they do not have pre existing conditions clause. SO anyway just wanted to give you a heads up . Your looking for an individual personal trainer ? I used one the first 2 or 3 months after being banded. I really liked it. Its not cheap though . but my trainer had a deal where you could go w/ others she trained and make it cheaper for you for small group work outs ? you might check into that ? Mindy

Typically the loan has to be under the patients name but they willl let your husband cosign . Mindy
