  1. First the best one that I have found and i like is Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople It seems to have more "info " in it already so you do not have to input the info yourself. Second WHY do you feel like a failure ? Just from what i have seen on your ticker, 5 months post op , what was it 34 pds lost ? ( I already calculated ) your averaging 1.7 pds a week . that's PRETTY DARN GOOD if you ask me ! Why do you think your not doing well ? whta's going on ? Maybe we can help ? Mindy
  2. No there is nothing that i know of, other than the Seton ones. I know another girl that lives off Willliam Cannon , plus another friend of mine who is on here that lives South , We could all try to get together if you want? Mindy
  3. booma I live in Buda ! Mindy
  4. If you cant keep liquids down you really need to go to the ER if your doc is not available. Anytime you cant keep liquids down something is not right. I would at least call your regular doc ( they shoudl have someone on call ) and let him know what is going on . Tell him what happened last time ask him if HE can come to the ER to UNFILL You , If you DONT Have a slip NOW staying this way will cause you to have one !
  5. Totally understand ! try drinking some very thinned out Protein shakes, Water, you know liquids so you do not get too malnourished. Are you able to keep liquids down ? Mindy
  6. Yes and upper GI / Xray are Floro . Mindy
  7. I just sent you an email . Mindy
  8. I hope you called the doc ? You sound like you need an unfill asap . Has your doc looked at your band under Flouro ? Mindy
  9. LOL Your too funny ! umm im not quite sure what to say to that ? I would rather be an inspiration than the reason of someone being envious i guess ? Is that coincided ? I guess you know what i mean . LOL But thank you . Let me know if you need anything, your doing great ! Mindy
  10. I have not been able to wear my wedding rings in 7 yrs , they were too small. I wore it on my pinky for a while. DH went went out and bought me a "new" solitaire because I refused to get the old one sized. NOW The original wedding band is almost TOO BIG !!!
  11. AWESOME I put something similar on there and gave ya credit for it !
  12. I remember wanting to lose weight in high school to be " SkinniER " Now I wanted to lose weight to NOT DIE . Mindy
  13. AWESOME AWESOME Post !!! Can I steal this and put it on my blog ? And start an "I use to wanna" ? I'll give ya credit for it ? Great way to look at things !! Mindy
  14. This is something docs in my opnion do not emphasis enough . People will not or ( very few do ) get restirction , and there fore feel the beneifits of the band until they start getting fills . I honestly think more and more people ( I think from lack of education from the docs) walk out of surgery #1 expecting to lose weight right then and there #2 expect to have restriction . The band is a tool , you have to use the tool for it to work. If there are no "Hands on " ( the fills) the tool it wont work . So i am not sure why docs do not emphasis that more? Also they do not tell them just what you said, it CAN take several fills before you feel anything from the fills. I think this is what gets people frustrated ? good luck to all of ya'll if anyone want to meet up in person let me know . Or if anyone wants/needs one on one emails support just drop me a line ! Mindy
  15. Any of ya'll are welcome to email me privatly as well , Since I seem to be the "vet" of the responders so far. I was banded July 07 and im down 105 pds. So feel free to email me or PM with any questions you might have . Maybe we can all meet up at some point, I always love to meet local bandsters ! Love mindy
  16. Howdy , I am from Buda ! Welcome . Glad you got your date that is awesome!who is doing your surgery ? Mindy
  17. I agree. I was w/ someone not too long ago that said " hey hand me a piece of that gum " I looked and realized it was nirorette gum " I told her ' Hey i did not know you just quit smoking " she said " OH yeah 2 YEARS AGO " She quit smoking but got addicted to the gum LOL I thought it was a little funny and silly at the same time !!! Mindy
  18. First off the cold could be why you are tight this time around. getting sick , periods ect can affect your band. Second off .. Fills can take up to 2 weeks to kick in . Third... You sound A LOT like me . You MAY be sensitive to fills. Meaning when others take 2 cc's to find restriction that would choke me to death , I have to have .50 cc's ( i have a 4 cc band ) If i get stuck I am stuck BAD and it swells me BADLY . I have had more unfills than fills. My last unfill was a month after my last fill . what happens to me usually is i get in a cycle , i PB swell really bad from it ,go on liquids to have the swelling go down, start eating again thinking things are ok , the swelling is not down , PB again and it starts all over again then i end up with a slight unfill. I have had one total unfill because of this . The problem w/ this is It can very easily cause a slip . Now that being said, What I would suggest if this does sound like you getting smaller fills . go in get smaller fills and wait , see how it works after a few weeks-month you can always get more put in . Its worked farily well for me . My issues are due to my esphogus being damaged from yrs of migraines and throwing up from them . So there is not much we can do about it but try to be careful . You can email me if you like Mindy
  19. I think i would ask your doc that . Mindy
  20. EWW good point . that is something to look into ! Mindy
  21. LOL NO I dont think so , I think if its a life or death deal your primary insurance would pay for at least some things. that is my guess ? mindy
  22. Well There is a phase called bandster hell and nearly everyone goes through it . Its the phase between when your healed and the time you get a fill. Mushies are a good stage though . LOL You can find lots to do . My friend did say not all his patients have the 5 months stage. But her BMI was not very high , you would think the larger BMI woudl be better ? But anyway , just thought I would mention it cause I dont think i would go 5 months post op w/ out solids. Mindy
  23. No offense but your only 2 weeks out . You will most likely be hungry . After you are healed more , the more you heal the hungrier you become. I just asked my friend and they said it depends on the patient but he does have some patients go that long w/ out solid foods , he doesnt want their stomach breaking down things like steak , which i understand that but at 5 months post op its a bit excessive in my opinion . I hope you do not get hungry . And if you do not have to do mushies for 5 months that's great ! Mindy
