Body Wraps...
Dreaming, I am going to use a compression wrap and some scar gel. This gel sounds pretty good, but still researching since I have more time. A friend who had heart bypass told me it works pretty well. Kelo-cote Scar Gel is a silicone scar gel that is designed to reduce the appearance of scars resulting from different plastic surgery procedures. Kelo-cote scar gel is the only scar gel of its kind that has been clinically proven to help treat scars.

Body Wraps...
Here ya go. They can help with the pain when traveling right after surgery and I understand they help the skin to shrink back as you loose. Feb 1st, for a sleeving good time
Thanks to all you great "Sleevers". I visited Dr. Alvarez Monday and confirmed my Sleeve date for February 1st. The thing I dread most is he requires me to be on a liquid diet for 3 weeks. I understand why, but for a food addict I think it is going to be tough. Anyone have any suggestions what a food addict can do to make it through. :001_tt1: :crying: :001_smile:

Drain
I am not sleeved yet, but I had this question also. I emailed the doc and he said sometimes he puts the drain in, depends on what he sees when he is in there. I think maybe some people have more blood vessels in that area than others and maybe that determines drain or no drain.

Stretching your sleeve
I may be wrong here, but it seems different doctors leave stomachs of different size. Like I know if you are planning a DS they leave a bigger sleeve. I think the stomach size they plan to leave is sized by using a bougie and they come in different sizes. Again, I am not positive as this being why some can eat more than others, it is just a conclusion I have reached after reading here and other sites. Either way I think you will be loosing weight whether you want to or not. I will be eating only 1/10 or less of what I usually eat, so how can one not loose weight.

VSG Surgery with Dr. Aceves 1-25, who's going with me? Come on don't be scared.
Hey Gary I am Gary from Texas, pre-sleeve. I know everything will go well for you, and like was said in the previous post, they like to hear you talk because they like it. When I was in the UK for most of 2008, I had to do a lot of talking, and they seemed to like it, especially the girls, so watch it down there in Mexico and don't get into to much trouble. Best wishes and Happy New Year!

I'm one of y'all
Thin1day, I notice you are in San Antonio, did you go to Dr. Alvarez? I read another post that the pain medicine he uses didn't help much. Congrats you having it over and wishing you a speedy speedy recovery!

First Horrible Experience...anyone else?
Linda and Tiffykins, Thank you both very much,, back to feeling good about it again,, was getting a little depressed.. lol.. Tiffykins, We really appreciate the sacrifices you and your hubby make for this country. It would be tough to have a spouse away like that. My son got back from Afghanistan Christmas morning. He is in the 10th Mountain out of New York. Saw a lot of action, was on the front lines a couple miles from Pakistan. He still maintains a good attitude, and prays for piece for the Afghan people. He says he has never seen so much poverty. Things we take for granite they can't imagine. This board is great, I think I am beginning to see what it will really be like. Even with all the problems reported, no one has said they regretted getting sleeved.

First Horrible Experience...anyone else?
Ok Tiffykins and anyone else, sounds like it gets back to really craving food again, and tempted to overeat. So when you know you can't without suffering some unpleasant consequences, do you wish you had not been sleeved?

December Sleevers
JudyJudy, Thank you, that will help me stick to this diet I started today. I see the DR on the 4th of January, and that is when he will determine the length of time I will need to diet before he will do my surgery. I really want it before the end of January and I know he has a few available dates. Checked my bp the night I posted and it was pretty high, one time was 150/93 with a 73bpm. Checked earlier today and I am down to 133/87 @70bpm. I am drinking protein/low carb drinks, water and only eating green veggies, sugar free pudding and yougart. I have learned these things on this awesome forum. I really appreciate the heads up. Hope things go well for you from here forward with no more setbacks.

Scared & 2 days until VSG Surgery (12/22)
Come on Frank, we are on the edge of our seats waiting to hear from you. I am sure your fine, probably to busy running around to post your progress. I am a ways off from the operation, but when it gets close I am sure I will probably have some fears. Right now I just want to get the ball rolling. Merry Christmas and May God Bless

Countdown to surgery!!
Hey Ms J.. Let us know how that liquid diet goes.. I am going to see Dr Alvarez Jan 4th, just for a consult. I have heard many good things about him, but want to meet him first and visit his facility. Not a bad drive from Houston and have friends in San Antone, so will make it a mini vacation.. What type of drink does he have you on for two weeks. I have been thinking about that and it sounds like it would be hard to stick to.

So.....I guess I'm getting sleeved on Monday
Congrats on a great surgery and recovery!! Keep us informed. I am meeting with the doctor January 4th, to schedule my surgery. It is exciting to hear from you and many others. Merry Christmas

North Houston/Spring/ Woodlands Gal To Be Banded Soon
Alright, it is August 6th and you are a few days into your new life with Mr. Lapband. How are you doing? I am considering having the lapband surgery and have an appointment with Dr. Spivak this Wednesday. Since you just had yours done I am curious to how you are feeling now. I certainly hope you are feeling well and making a speedy recovery. Is there much pain?,, Did they give you any thing that takes most of the pain away. After viewing photos and a movie of the surgery it looks pretty painful. I am 51 and have never had any type of surgery. I have a lot of questions and have been writing them down. Some have been answered in this forum and I want to thank everyone here. This is a great forum. gg
