  1. I recently moved from NY to MS and am having a tough time finding a new lap band doc. Now I'm having some heartburn and just want to go in and have things checked out. The only ones that I can seem to find don't seem very good at all! Is anyone in this neck of the woods? I went from having an outstanding Dr to no Dr.. It's a bit scary!

In A Lot Of Stomach Pain!

I have that happen to me, but it only lasts for 15-30 minutes. But I have to walk slouched over. I think it's gas pain. i'm going to ask the Dr the next time I go in.
  3. That there is a very good chance that you will never be warm again! Ok, so you'll be warm, just not as warm as everyone else
  4. I was unable to sleep in my bed for 2 weeks after surgury. My husband had to go out and buy a recliner. I would not have been able to make it without one! Dawn
  5. 1. I was banded in May, 2010 and while I lost a lot of weight initially, I started falling back into old habit. I was filled once in August (3 cc's) and have been in the sweet spot ever since! I wish I had known that I could have ASKED for a fill sooner. 2. The weather severely affects my band. When we have high pressure fronts move in, I'm incredibly loose. When we have a low pressure front, I can't eat anything at all. Protein shakes are it. 3. I don't even try to eat breakfast anymore. It's not going to happen. I use this time to supplement my protein. For awhile I neglected my protein shakes and my hair started falling out. When I upped my protein again, everything was back to normal. 4. I'M ALWAYS COLD! This is the one thing that honestly may have changed my mind about the band. I'm down 79 pounds and even with the cold issues, I would have to say that I would do this all over again! Dawn
  6. So, I'm finally back on the website. I haven't been on in several months. I was banded on 5/25/10 and I'm down 78 pounds! A little over 1/2 of what I need to lose. The last couple of weeks my band has been really tight, but I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks. Going back tomorrow, but I am going to be SORE! When exactly is the support group again? I've been meaning to go, but just can never seem to make it. How is everyone else doing?
  7. All of my paperwork is in and I've been scheduled for the December Seminar. What does the timeline seem to be from here? I am about 3 months behind where I wanted to be because some of my paperwork got filed at my PCP's office instead of being faxed over. Hopefully you guys can give me a rough idea. Thanks!
  8. I know there must be other people around that were banded by Dr. Posner.. Where is everyone?
  9. I apparently have a very low tolerance for pain. The next day, even on pain meds, I couldn't stand up straight. Driving was HORRIBLE! Just my .02
  10. I have pain in my port site. The worst is when I'm sitting and wearing jeans. I think the jeans push the port up a little. I've only felt light headed one and it happened to be today. And I seem to only get a nauseous feeling when it's time to eat. Once I eat I'm fine! I'm still losing! I'm not so eagerly awaiting Bandster Hell.. I really enjoy the restriction I have right now and do not want it to go away!
  11. Hello everyone! So, things are going really well for me! I was moved onto mushies Thursday and so far so good! I'm also finally able to sleep in my bed.. For 2 nights now... It's a little odd as I'm most comfortable sleeping on my port side! I'm down a little more and feeling great! Hope everyone else is doing ok.
  12. I'm a 25th-er as well :Dancing_biggrin: I'm doing great! Just got back from a visit with the surgeon.. I'm down 11 pounds post-op and now I'm on mushies!!!
  13. I was banded on 5/35 and I'm down about 10 pounds since surgery. I have had a lot of pain in my incisions, but today was my first day with no pain meds. I have an appointment Thursday and hopefully I'll be able to move from liquids to mushy. I need something to CHEW lol. Also, I'm sick of the nasty taste in my mouth. I've been brushing like 5 times a day!

    Just got Banded..

Hi Brenda! I'm feeling pretty good, about the same as you! I also hate broth and I'm getting sick and tired of the sweetener aftertaste. I'm also having a heck of a time falling to sleep at night. *sigh* I hope that one goes away soon!
  15. My docs office scheduled the surgery for 3 weeks out and I was approved in 2 weeks. I stayed over 1 night and ironically I was approved for the hospital stay before I was approved for the surgery!

    Just got Banded..

Welcome! Great job on your loss so far!

    Getting close...

Good luck and stick to it! I don't know which pre-op diet you need to follow. Mine was South Beach strict Phase 1 so it wasn't that bad.

    Which band did you get?

I have the Lap-Band. I picked it because I felt that the port was smaller.. which is weird because I have a friend who picked the other band because she felt that the port on it was smaller! I've only been banded for 7 days now, so I don't really have anything else that will help you..
  19. I would definitely ( and did) buy all of those items beforehand... I'm 5 days postop today and would not want to have to go shopping!
  20. I love Leslie Sansone... And where I live she has a couple of free "on demand" workouts on fittv!!

    I punked out

Congrats! I was banded on the 25th as well! I'm not doing as well as the 2 of you, i have lots of pain and gas, but everything looks good! I'm envious! lol

    I'll be banded today

Congrats! Keep up the great work!

    Official Banded

Hi joecs1! I was also banded on Tuesday! I drank 1 protein drink yesterday and didn't have any problems. But I did attempt to sleep on my bed last night which was not a good idea. I wound up moving to my recliner at about 4 am.... good luck with everything!!

    Frustrated

For my doc, the hypothyroidism had to be treated and considered "under control". Hope that helps!
  25. I had mine put on 2 days ago and could not imagine driving OR going back to work at this point! I'm not supposed to drive for 10 days and after 1 night in the hospital, I fell asleep in the car on the way home!
