  1. Hello everyone. Today is my baby's birthday. He is 7. We bought him a birthday cake tomorrow. That is going to be so hard for me because although I am not a sweets person an occasional piece of birthday cake is good and plus it's for his birthday. Oh well! I'll survive.
  2. Yeah! probably, try to take smaller sips. Have you tried Gas-X? It really helped me. It will get better. Welcome to the banded side.
  3. Have you been exercising? Maybe try the liquid diet that most of us had to do which encorporates high protein low carb like atkins. Protein shakes and broth and SF jello. Stuff like that. Exercise is important now and especially after. Good luck.:scared2:
  4. OK so at my post-op appt the doctor said I could move on to regular foods and I have been doing good, until tonight. I was eating some chicken that I had boiled so it was nice and tender, I also had bell pepper and onions in it. Well i guess I was not eating slow enough but I had a pepper and it got stuck and let me tell you that is the worst feeling. TMI but they are not lying about the foam that comes back up. It was nasty so after about 5-10 minutes it finally passed and I was able to finish my meal. Let's just say I really focused on chewing and eating more slowly. Moral of the story, we may not have restriction but things will still get stuck, so chew, chew, chew and eat slowly. Take care guys and remember me at your next meal so you will head my warning. Bye guys. Til tomorrow.
  5. I know, it was hard for me as well, just continuously sip on something so you want get dehydrated. Have you tried SF popsicles? Those really helped me.
  6. I agree! Keep moving! It's good for you.
  7. Are you still on liquids? If so it doesn't hurt to have 100% juice at times(No sugar added). Just if you feel bad, check your BS and if low drink some juice. Have you heard from your PCP? I am a nurse so if you have any questions, let me know.
  8. Just hang in there. Just tell yourself you can do this and visualize yourself doing it and you will. Good luck!
  9. I have used sparkpeople in the past, maybe I will give it a go again. Thanks ladies!
  10. I've been doing an hour of cardio 4-5 times a week. The doc says I can start strength training in another 2 weeks. Can't wait for that. Want to avoid as much sagging skin as possible.
  11. That's great. I think Dr. Snow is great, don't you?
  12. Absolutely! Welcome! Haven't hit a wall yet! Have you been exercising at all. That seems to help also you may need to eat 1000-1200 calories a week. I've read on here that some people don't lose unless they eat between 1000-1200 calories and then some eat 800 calories and still lose. We are all different and we have to learn what works for us. Good luck!
  13. I've done this as well and your right it is a learning experience. Have my first fill next week, maybe I will get a little more restriction, haven't been real hungry but noticed that I could eat more if I was not careful. Glad to see your doing well, SoCo:thumbup:
  14. Hang in there! It gets better every day. Congratulations for crossing over to the banded side.:bored:
  15. I had those creamy soups in a cup the second week, so it should be fine as long as there are no lumps or bumps as my nurse had said. Take care.
  16. That's fine, you should do what your doctor says, each one is different, mine said I could, it just depends on the doc. Take care.
  17. Well, back from the doctor. It went well except for the fact that I can't go back to work without restriction until the 6th of October. So I guess I am stuck at home til then. He said that I have done very well and that he is proud of me. He actually called me a "showoff". He is great. I am very thankful to him. He also said I can start having real food just to try things and see how I do. My first fill is next week on the 29th. Can't wait. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care.
  18. Going to doctor today for first post-op visit. I'm hoping he lets me return to work without restrictions soon. Next week will be 4 weeks post-op, so I don't see why not. Will let you guys know how it goes later. Take care.
  19. Refried beans would be ok as long as you used the canned fat-free kind. Even black beans would be fine as long as they were low in fat and of course you could cook your own, just leave out the lard.
  20. Good Luck to everyone being banded tomorrow: Sharie3 9/21/09 Italia2020 (Mia) 09/21/09 Ariane (Ariane) 09/21/09 We'll be pulling for you! Good luck tomorrow!
  21. Not really, since I added soft foods. I have been fine with three meals a day.
  22. Congratulations on hitting ONDERLAND! I still have 38 lbs til onderland.
