  1. Stephanie, that's fantastic! Keep us posted.
  2. Wow..that's hard to comprehend!! My question is how does the doctor decide what size he's going to use? I don't have a clue what size mine should/will be. Is it based on your height?
  3. thinoneday, I'm doing great today. Thanks! The headache was horrible, but this morning when I woke up it was gone. Things are going along smoothly with the diet also. My hubby is following it along with me. He's been so supportive and helpful. He wants to drop some weight also, so he's going to just follow along with healthy eating which makes it much easier for me. How are things for you? Do you have your date set yet?
  4. Thanks Big Tex!! Day 3 and I'm already feeling much better. :crying:
  5. excited Day 3 and I woke up with no headache. Yahooo!! It just lasted 2 full days for me. Today I feel really good. Doctors office did tell me that day 3 of the diet is usually the most difficult and that's when you usually crave carbs. They suggested that I make sure not to allow myself to get hungry. So that's my goal today to just eat meals and snack on things that are allowed. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones and have no headache. :crying:
  6. Thanks Linda. Once the headache goes away, the diet won't be so bad.
  7. Hang in there...it's gotta get better. :confused1:
  8. Wing, I haven't attempted cutting out the caffiene yet, although I know I will need to very soon. It's the one thing I'm hanging on to until the last possible minute. lol
  9. I had no idea cutting back on carbs would cause a headache. :confused1: Nothing seems to relieve it. Hopefully it will be gone in a few days. Thanks for your encouragement. I'm hanging in there.
  10. I started my pre op diet yesterday. It's basically a high Protein low carb diet. Less than 30 carbs a day. I got a headache about noon yesterday and have had a continuous one since. Can you get headaches from cutting back on carbs? Has anyone else experienced this? :001_wub:
  11. Best wishes for you and hoping for a speedy recovery!

Hi Stephanie! Welcome to VST and congrats on your decision to go with the sleeve. Look forward to hearing more from you.
  13. youknotit, I'll be flying in from Denver, CO. Not to long of a flight which will be great for the flight back home after surgery.
  14. Dr. Aceves staff did tell me that the hopsital has wifi and that it was ok to bring my laptop. So I am bringing mine and hopefully it will work. It is comforting to have others there at the same time. I don't think you'll feel alone as we will all be there to support you as well. Be sure to look me up when there. Barb:biggrin0:
  15. Hi bethicle! Looks like there are going to be a handfull of us there that week. I look forward to meeting you. I'll be there through the 22nd. I'm so looking forward to getting started on the road to being healthy and feeling better:001_smile:
  16. luv2lose...yah!!!! Now we have 3 sleeve bandits the same week. We can definitely all walk the halls together. Can't wait to meet you.
  17. Kai, it's exciting isn't it? I'm sure you can find someone else from the board that is scheduled your week also. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you since you will just be one week ahead. :biggrin0:
  18. Hi Kai. Congratulations on your date. It is exciting to see how many people are scheduled with Dr. Aceves. I don't think any of us will regret it. I look forward to hearing about your experience. :scared0:
  19. Congrats on your date Gary. I will be having my sleeve with Dr. Aceves one week before you do. I'm so excited as I'm sure you are. Wish you best of luck. Oh and about the accent...I think people just ask you to repeat yourself because they LIKE your accent. :scared0:
  20. That's great Kermit. Fantastic start.
  21. Tiff, congratulations! It's the ultimate accomplishment and the reason we are all part of this forum and "sleeve family". Your accomplishment will help all those that are following to know that it is possible. Your hard work and determination is a inspiration for all of us that are just starting out or are mid way along our journey. Again, thanks for sharing and being so willing to help those behind you. Hugs!!!!
  22. Yaaahoooooooooooo Brenda! I'm so excited. I will look for you at the airport and we can definitely walk the halls together. It will be so much fun to have someone sleeved the same day and we can be a support for each other. I have read nothing but positive things about Dr. Aceves and his office staff have been wonderful. I feel totally confident with him and that was a huge factor in picking him for my surgery. I think both of us will be very pleased. :biggrin0:
  23. Yah Anne! Thanks for updating us and looking forward to hearing how your journey goes. ps: I can't wait for mine on Jan 19th.
  24. Hi You know it! It would be great if we were able to cross paths. I'm due to start my pre op diet on Jan 11th, but I've decided to start it a bit early, around Jan 1st. So far I've been so impressed with Dr. Aceves office and staff. Everything I have read on these boards regarding him and his office has been positive and after dealing with them I have to agree. Lets keep in touch to see if we will be able to at least say hello to each other while there. I'm so sorry you had to wait to get your sleeve done but better to be safe and have a healthy "you" after it's all said and done. Barb:001_smile:
