I take 2 vegetable non stimulant laxatives every night no pain, no cramps just keeps things normal. Papaya enzymes when you chew and swallow them are suppose to break up whatever is stuck. Make sure you get flavored ones or you will get sick so nasty, favored ones ok and do help me some. As far as the Philips milk of magnesia I kept taking more and more till it worked after surgery. I took a bunch but then things will be more normal. Would again if I needed to Cheri

I just went through the multi-day stuck. Only thing that worked for me was the “Drano” thing 1/3 hot diet coke (not cold) 1/3 lemon or lime juice, 1/3 meat tenderizer. Took 3 drinks first two come straight up so be in bathroom, third drink went right through no longer stuck. Believe me I tried everything. I gets worst if you lay down so put pillow behind you to prop you up in bed till unstuck. As long as you are still stuck you will continue to slime, just being swollen should not make you slime. It is very nasty but I was about 48 or more hours stuck and would have tried anything. Cheri

It just put me in a really bad mood as I had no control over it. I still do not know really what was stuck or when it really started. Very strange. I hope to not go through that again. But the Drano thing is nasty but works right away. Cheri

Each day is a new day, sometimes we all have to start over. I have been bandded 2+years and sometimes I go back to liquids, mushies and then solids to break a bad pattern from starting. Forgive yourself and move on. Congratulation to all who can stick with it but not everybody is the same. Cheri

Maybe since you are only 30 years old it works for you but at 51 I HAVE to workout or else don't eat much. Exercise is so good for every part of your body and mind. Cheri

What happens if you do not sleep? I only sleep from 5:30 am when my husband goes to work until I have to get up for work myself about 8:00 am and this almost every night for years. Even with perscription sleep medication. When I went to see my Dr he asked if I had this I said don't you have to sleep to have this? No sleep study for me. Made it through the day no problems. Tummy was hungry . . . something I do not feel very often but I only ate about 5 small bites of Jello salad? it was good! But all I could take. Did not feel swollen today but I know I am so I will be very careful next couple of days Thanks all for all the support Cheri

Well I am pretty sure I am no longer stuck, but very swollen so just liquids over the Thanksgiving weekend. I tried the payaya Enzymes did not do it. But the ones I tried this time I could chew up without throwing up as they were flavored so if you order some make sure they are flavored. I spent most of last night throwing up slime and the small amounts of Water I thought went down. Today more of the samething, my husband is sick of me and I am sick of him due to all my complaining and slime city. Last night I just slept in the bathroom, just me and my dog. I had to cook some dishes for Thanksgiving today and it was not fun. Still hungry seems my stomach did not know we were stuck, it justs growled 3 days of no food or protien shakes. About 7:00 pm tonight a band friend reminded me another band friend of ours knew something that worked. Well one call to her and I got it. Her LapBand Dr. told her about it they call it “Drano” it worked right away. So I am not saying it is good for you but my friend is a nurse and she has done it twice in 2 ½ years. So drink it at you own risk. I would have gone to dr today but not open till Monday. These new Dr are nothing like Dr Spivak. Oh how I miss him. he took great care of his people night or day and weekends. Thank you to all of you for giving me your advice and prayers and everything else. I felt really dumb as I did not know what I was stuck on. A good friend of my just had a heart attack and we were at the hospital day and night. Stress tightens up my Band also. Any way good news and lots of liquids now. DRANO - 1 part hot coke, 1 part lemon or lime juice, 1 part meat tenderizer all mixed togather in a big glass. Drink it in about 3rds at a time. Be in bathroom as it will come up in about a minute, then drink next part, same thing happens, 3rd time went straight through and whatever was stuck was gone. Not sure if it came up or went down with last drink but gone. Well thanks again for you support and have a Happy Thanksdiving!!! And you newbies and people looking into the band some people never get stuck like this or vomit or even slime so this is just my experience with it. Thank you for answering my post about depression. So sorry you have to go through this too. It is horrible. I have my good days and bad days I do take wellbutrim and t does take the edge off. I am lke you without my faith that there is a living God who loves and cares about me that I can talk to everyday I would not get out of bed. I have had my Band 2+ years and the Band helped with the weight but not the depression. The weight is not the cause of the depression but a side affect of the depression. But my husband and I agreed the depression is not something I can cure myself but the depression and the weght were too much for me. I was 251 and am now 169 a tight size 18 to a loose size 10, so that does make me feel better. I am still believeing God will not make me live the rest of my life living like this. I am waiting for healing, I know He can and I want it. So you are thinking about the Band? It Is a good thing. I might would have done the Bypass but I was self pay and could not afford it. But now I am glad I went with the Band. With the Bypass I could have lost even more weight but too many risks. I have really had no problems with the band, too tight twice but no biggie they just take some out and I do throw up but always have and no slip or problem. I have been married for 31 years to a wonderful supportive man and have a great son and a wonderful daughter-in-law and the most beautiful grandbabies Olivia 5 and Isabella 2 both blond hair and blue eye and both left handed like my son. They all are the joy I have in this world. I fear my depression will ruin their lives too. I spend a lot of time faking happiness as to not ruin their time. But it is hard sometimes. But I would never want to cause my grandbabies any unhappiness or set a bad example. The oldest one Olivia does know that grandma does get sad sometimes but that it is okay. She is more concerned about my Band, she tells everyone, people in the store, or when we are out to eat everyone, does not bother me. She thinks she can feel the band because she can feel the port really easy. (it is by bra line). She always ask me if I am going to eat something “Is that healthly grandma”. She is so funny. So you see I have a wonderful family my husband and I made, but really no relationship with my family. They are all into drugs and drinking which I do not do. My daddy died when I was 10 and my brother who also suffered from depression overdose last Christmas on prescription drugs, his and someone elses. It was a terrible death he would have never wanted people to see him like that in a coma on life support for 2 days it was terrible but he was one of the saddest people I have ever known but would not accept help. I have been throught 3 years of counseling and learned a lot of coping skills and that I have probably been depressed my whole life but was too busy being a mom to care about myself and kept it all inside. When my son married I kinda lost my identity and it opened the door for the depression to surface. I am gonna stop writing now as I have written a book, more than you wanted to know I am sure. So sorry it took me a few days to answer you but like I said I have my good days and bad days. Cheri

Both times I went in for a small unfill. I hand my hand over my port and made them promise to only take out .02cc. My Doctors always do fills with fluro so they see what it is like before they take any out and one after they remove the small amount. If they did not agree to only take out small amount before proving to me there was a problem I would have left. Sounds dumb to some people but I am self pay and $150.00 a pop I am keeping mine. But what scares me is so many people say they never feel the same after be totally unfilled. But some do feel the same some better. The good thing about it is that you can request more than what you had when you first had the band as you are already use to it and know what to expect so I bet they give you more each time. Walmart online or most grocery stores by meds, never worked for me but for others it really works the taste me me throw up. Cheri

No pain and whatever is stuck is still stuck, I can tell the difference after 2+ years. Just gets on my nerves, Can take anxiety pills as I let them dissovle in my mouth or sooner or later I will start to freak out. Thanks everybody. Will try cold stuff right now. I have been stuck almost this long several times before. That stupid Omnipaque does not give any or bend even a little like saline does so if it is stuck it is stuck. Thanks will keep ya updated. Unfill is out of question for me. But will call Dr tomorrow if still stuck. Cheri

Best thing I have every done. Right now I have been stuck about 24 hours and it is not a happy feeling but I went from 251 to 169 lbs and it was so worth it. People get confused and lump all weight loss surgery together. I know I have heard of people say people have died but was it really Lapband or Bypass? Was it because of Band or other problems they already had? Some people talk bad about WLS because they can not have it. I think we have to decided for ourselves my choice involved prayer and I felt it was right for me. I am so glad I did it I am not gonna lie and say it is just wonderful but better than any diet I have been on. Even stuck it is so worth it. The stuck phase will pass and I will be fine again. Do not live your life in fear, trusted yourself and your dr to be smart enought to make your choice. If you believe in prayer it helps too. Cheri

Oh my gosh! I am so stuck. I have no idea on what or from what but going on about 24 hours now. Any suggestions? Fluids going down very slowly but throwing up slime left and right. I know people think throwing up is so bad but I have done it on and off for 2+ years just had fluro and everything okay as always soesn't bother me. Never been stuck this long . . .close . . . but not this long. No pain just blocked and I am getting very irritated (nerves). Just had a small unfill 2 weeks ago and was doing so good. Hot liquids won't do it and they usually did. Worked out last night stuck and today stuck and no help. I am not one to slime but whatever it is, is not coming up or going down. And I know it sounds stupid but I am hungry too no food in 2 days. I think I am gonna go get some Fat Free High Protien Milk as it is thin and the protien shakes are too thick to go down. Need to get my meds down before I lose my mind. I will take any and all suggestions, except no unfill as I am not too tight just something stuck and now swollen. Cheri Thanks in advance!

I am 2+ years and you can not feel the band, you can feel the port through the skin as you lose weight. Sometimes you can feel the food move through the band or if you get stuck you can feel when it does go through the band. Don't worry it is nothing strange and you will not be bothered by it. Cheri

If you find out more I am interested too. They do something like that at my church and do it for 6 months and then everyone finds out who it was and they choose again it was fun. Cheri

I wanted to reply so you do not seem alone in this. My advice to you is to see if another Dr might see you on an emergency basis and let you pay it out. Also only eat what you are suppose to even if you can eat more, just stop, measure it out. You have worked so hard I do not want you to gain it back. I know the more experience bandsters will be along soon with the good advice. But you do need to get in and have a flouro and see if everything is okay does not sound like it. Call some more doctors and see if someone will work with you. I think when you have paid so much to your Surgeon he/she should see you. Did you try talking to Dr himself or office manager. Or if you can just go there and demand to be seen. They took your money now you need their help. Cheri
