  1. It is not that painful. I was only in a lot of pain after the surgery because I had a hernia and they removed it so I stayed an extra day in the hospital. I can say I had pain for about five days and tried to return to work on the sixth day. I dont think you are going to regain your strength back in five days at least give it two weeks. I returned to work on the second week and I was feeling just fine. But everyones body is different you probably can return to work after five days. Good luck and congratulations on your journey.

  4. Hey everyone, I had my first fill today since I had the surgery on April 12, 2010. I am doing so well that my surgeon didnt think I needed the fill. I started at 315lbs and I am now at 264, my goal was 200lbs but im going to take it down to 180lbs. So that means that I have lost a total of 51lbs since I had the surgery horray for me. Anyone else had their first fill today? Oh I received 2cc's for my first fill.:biggrin:

Cause I was told that I have to do a six month diet plan with my primary doctor and I wanted to know will i be looking at next year for the surgery cause that is to long. I wanted to know how long does it take to get the surgery date my first app is scheduled on August 20 2009. I also want my insurance to pay which is VaPremier and they are an HMO but they said that I have to go through a six month diet plan with my primary care doctor any advice you can give me.
  11. Hello to everyone im new here and I go to my first appointment ever on August 20th 2009 to talk to my surgeon about the lapband. Its just that I have an HMO and I want to see if they would cover the cost of surgery and consultation. the only catch is I have to see my primary care physician and she has to evaluate me for six months and I have to get all of these tests done on me. Im in the Richmond, VA area and I wanted to know does anyone know how long it will take me to get scheduled for the surgery if I want my HMO to cover all charges. Please dont tell me I probably wont get the surgery until next year. Pleas help
