  1. It sounds like some of you are getting the bad weather That was here Fri. It's really nice here today and the snow is melting. Great NSVs Elfie! All this bra and panty talk is depressing. I went drawer shopping in my bra drawer today and threw away some stuff. I have gone from a 42DD to a 38C +/38D- already  darn it! I didn't like the DDs, but I still have some weight to take off and it would be nice if it came off in the right places!
  2. No, Centennial is a burb of Denver. I do have to drive close to that area for my lapband doc though. ( I think ) I am west (or north west) of Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs.
  3. Even at goal I think I will still need some restriction to prevent overeating and maintain. I hope to never have to remove all the fill. If I get too thin (which I can not even imagine) I would get a very tiny unfill.
  4. Yes! My snoring has stopped! Well, I may snore a tiny bit still, but nothing like it was. I did not have to do a study for the band but, I did a sleep study in 2006. They said I did not have apnea, but I did snore VERY LOUD and from the time I fell asleep to the time I woke up. I used to even wake myself up with my snoring.
  5. With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes outto the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, Good grief, look how smart I am! Must be where 'Smart Ass' came from!

  7. I am thinking you could have just had the soup without putting it in the blender. ....... just chew any little pieces well ...... just a thought. You are in the soft/mushy stage right? not full liquid?
  8. Oh geez, I just saw the rules. I voided out my first vote by voting again. I will cast a vote from another computer and try to make up for it. Please vote for your favorite finalist at right. Only one vote per person, household, and email address - multiple votes from one person/household will void ALL votes from that person/household. The finalist with the most votes on April 1, 2010 will be declared the winner and will win a FREE LAP-BAND® surgery from Dr. Rehnke and the Bariatric Care Center at Palms of Pasadena Hospital!
  9. I'm glad to hear I am not the only one dealing with snow. We did not get the 10-12" they said we would, but did get plenty. The sun is out and the sky is blue today. Betsy, the dinner sounds like fun and work. I bet you burn off a pound just by doing everything that it takes to have the house and food ready.
  10. I didn't put anything in the blender during my mushie stage. It all just seemed a bit gross to do that. I found plenty of things to eat that were mushie already. But, as the above poster gave examlpes, it works great for some.
  11. Soup or chili is a good bet. I am amazed at how good some of the soup in restaurants can be..... very yummy. I stay away from the type with noodles though. Chili with steak in it does not work for me. I eat chili several times a week. yum and good protein. If you go someplace with seafood, scallops are very soft and taste good.
  12. Great Job! Good Bye to that big #3! Now set another "mini goal"
  13. I can eat cheese by it's self or melted on things. I can eat a small amount of nuts. I do not chew everything to much, but make sure every bite is chewed well. If I have to chew something to "mush" I just get grossed out.
  14. I am very tired all the time too, but this was happening before the band as well. In 2005 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). The 2 usually come together. At that time my Dr. gave me an Rx for Provigil. It really helped with the CFS and I was feeling great, but then I no longer had health insurance and it was very expensive, so I quit taking it. I don't know if they can make it in a chewable or liquid form because it may be time release. In 2005 it was so new that there was no generic form and no substitute for it, but it sure did work great on the chronic fatigue.

  16. Dottie, I am so glad you are enjoying your trip! Well, except for the stuck/slime stuff.
  17. It doesn't hurt at all for my fills.....just a needle stick like getting a shot. I chose the band because it is adjustable, it can be removed if something goes wrong, there isn't the malabsorbtion like bypass because everything is still going through the entire digestive system, fewer complications like dumping syndrome, I know several people (friends/family) who have had bypass and the band. I'm sure I could add more to the list.......
  18. It depends ....... everyone is different and every Dr. is different. As you can see on the bottom of my post, they put in a fill during surgery and I had 2 good sized fills after that. I am still very tight after my last fill in September. If your doc is one of those who believe in only putting in .5cc at each fill, you are looking at many fills and s/he is looking at many $$$.
  19. Snow Snow Snow Snow.................... We are getting another big snow storm. It is already snowing (again) and in my area we are expecting a foot of the stuff by sometime tomorrow.
  20. Sorry about the massage .... it's ok to whine about that one. It is kinda neat about the bags of clothes. It brought to mind that sometime (faster than you know) those sizes of clothes will pass each other. It was such a strange feeling when my son outgrew me. It is like milestones. His feet were bigger than mine when he was in the 4th grade. He was 6'2" by the 8th grade! When they need to start shaving ......... oh geez, then it makes ya feel old. It's like the teen dating posts. It happens so fast.
  21. awwww, just when I was getting a visual image of him wraslin' one of those big fish. :frown:
  22. oops! I accidentlly voted again (hehe) is there a limit on voting? can a person only vote once a day to be counted or something?
  23. The band is working well for me and for many others, but only you can know if it is what you want for yourself. There are several things that helped me make up my mind about getting banded. All the yo-yo dieting over the years, my own BMI (morbid), the fact that the band is adjustable, fewer complications with the band vs. bypass, other people I personally know that have had bypass and the band ...... the list goes on.
  24. While an appointment like that one is happening I would think the patient is in shock and not sure what to say. Now you have had time to reflect. If you do go back to this Dr. you can be ready to speak to him and tell him about the way he speaks to people. The letter may be a pretty good idea too.
  25. Hi Mark and welcome The band has been working very well for me. Keep doing your research and you will figure out what is best for you. There is a ton of information here at LBT .... keep reading.
