  1. That does seem like a very large band for such a small person, but what do I know? I am 5'7", started at 264 lbs. I have a 10cc band.
  2. Clearnce rack at walmart. Plus size consignment shops....... Look in the back of your own dresser drawers for that bra you grew out of..........
  3. The entire thread is redundant. There are several just like it. Like this: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f178/spelling-error-108537/
  4. Wow. I had to go back and read some threads....LBT was busy today......like the rule breaking one. I just have nothin' to add to that one. It's getting kinda nasty. I am so darn hungry between meals this week! Banster Hell part 2 ? I can't wait til Friday when I go back for a fill.
  5. My fatigue lasted for months. I think it just hits some of us harder. Make sure you are taking all your vits. It does get better.
  6. I like a couple of the nectar flavors (roadside lemonaid & crystal sky) For a milky type shake I like Atkins vanilla. I tried EAS (yuck) and muscle milk (yuck). Everyone's tastebuds are so different. You will just have to try a bunch to see what works for you. From what I was told you should stay away from products like boost and ensure. They are made for people like the elderly who need to increase calories, not for weightloss.
  7. I didn't put anything in the blender. I'll try to think of things I ate : soup yogurt oatmeal cream of wheat pudding chili (chewed well) lots of Protein shakes
  8. It's so nice to hear from those who have not checked in for awhile. Dottie, I put away my 2000 piece puzzle not too long ago. It was just too hard to do alone. Sandy, welcome and feel free to jump in the thread anytime you want. I guess I had what qualifies as an NSV today at work. A man came right out and told me "You are a very attractive woman." " In fact, you are HOT!" I thanked him. It did make my day. He was totally flirting with me!
  9. I wear mine so tight I have to lay on the bed to get it zipped! Yes, I do like mine kinda tight. Right now it's not because I had a situation and had to get a small unfill, but I go back this Friday for another fill to get my restriction back.
  10. Did you get the feedback from veterans enough about maintaining at goal and an unfill at that time?
  11. I had no pre-op tests ...... zero.....nothing. I paid $9950.
  12. I don't judge by the amount of food I can eat. I go by how hungry I am between meals.
  13. I did not do the pre-op photos or the pre-op measurements. I know how bad I looked and felt about myself and never want to see that again. I do have a very obese looking pic from 2008 that I could use if I ever get brave enough to post before/after pics.
  14. Just like one big warm fuzzy happy family !
  15. What about this part? Hal and I want to know (wink)
  16. I have eaten it a couple times with no problems. I like to take a protein shake with me to the movies.
  17. For me after I reached good restriction breakfast became non-existant. Many bansters have trouble in the morning. Morning is when I drink protein shakes. As far as other times of day, you may be eating too fast or taking to large bites or just eating stuff that you can not tolerate at this stage. Keep bites very tiny (pea size) to get yourself trained. Put the fork/spoon down between bites to slow yourself down. Things do get better with time after a good fill.
  18. I will be interested to see what others say to this as well. I'm not a veteran at this point. As for me personally, I have already lost 95 lbs. (84%). That is way more than 60%. If I'm doing my math correct 60% would be only a loss of 68.4 lbs. To this point the band has done around 80% ..... I have not worked that hard at it. Things have slowed a bit and I think they will be slow enough at goal to just maintain without any unfills.
  19. I've been working on my mountain theme guest room. The log bed came in Friday and we picked it up yesterday. The real nice lodge theme comforter sets are too expensive, so I found this one online and ordered it today. I spent too much on the bed it's self to afford the expensive comforter set. Some day I will make a quilt for it. I painted an accent wall (green), but don't like how the edges look. I think I will just get some wood trim to make the corners and edges look better. I had 2 little white fiber board book shelves that were ready for goodwill that I painted with the same green paint. They will look ok in there. I couldn't afford a dresser to match the bed. Those things cost as much as the bed. I've always been into projects like this to stay busy and make my home look and feel nice.
  20. I am still thinking it has nothing to do with the fill ...... but I'm not the expert. One thing that always helps me (may be just an old home remedy, but works) is drinking Jello. Make jello like normal and just sip it in it's liquid form. I hope you both feel better soon.
  21. lol too funny. I had a boss that said chewing gum lowers your I.Q. by 25 points.
  22. I'm not going to miss my big ugly ol' size 24 clothes! (or my big ol' size 24 A$$!)
  23. Life will get better. Be patient, follow your Dr.'s orders, get good sleep, sip ice water .....................It does get better.
  24. For me getting stuck was a hard lesson to learn. Either I did not chew well enough, ate too fast, or ate a type of food I can not tolerate with good restriction. For me it is either instant pain or a short while after I eat it is slime or even food and slime being thrown up. VERY HARD LESSON.
  25. Now that I have been banded for awhile some of the foods I thought I would miss don't even taste good to me and I don't miss them. I am not one of those who can eat anything. Some foods give me trouble. I can not even take a couple bites of pasta or eggs. I didn't drink soda very often before the band because it bothered my stomach. I have not tried beer or anything that might be bubbly.
