Fifth Fill and not doing well with liquid
Hi, I hope someone out here can give me some good advice right now because I feel miserable. I went for my fifth fill today putting me at about 7.5 CC's. My last fill I could feel restriction for about two weeks and it let up a bit. I could still eat more than I wanted to. So, I go for my fill today (.75 CC's) and the nurse had to take out .25 CC's in order for me to get a sip of water down. I leave the office and here comes all of this foamy stuff in my chest and throat. I have been spewing this all day long and still can't really drink much if anything. I called the Dr. office and they want me to wait a day to see if it improves due to the swelling my stomach has right now due to the fill. I just don't know what I can do to relieve my misery until tomorrow. I am tired of spitting!!! Any suggestions anyone???

The sweet spot has arrived!
Do you know how glad I am to hear you say that??? I was wondering about you. I too have been avoiding visiting the website because I had my surgery on the 13th also and have only lost 38 lbs!!!! I got my fill on Jan. 4th and am definitely feeling a difference. I say this with caution but I "think" I may have my sweet spot also. Although today was different. I have been able to eat more than any day since my fill. If this isn't my sweet spot, I have an appt. in Feb. that should get me there. I say all that to tell you Thank You and I am very proud of your success. Keep going and don't worry about anyone else because we all are different and I know everyone here is rooting for us. They have been in our shoes at some point. Take Care.

First Fill on 8/20- 5 CC's and not much restriction
Yeah, I have found some older posts that say that it does take a few fills for the Sweet Spot. So, I plan to start exercising more this week and watching the calories. Thanks for the encouragement. BTW, when were you banded?

First Fill on 8/20- 5 CC's and not much restriction
Hey Everyone, I wanted to ask some of you experienced banders if it is normal to not feel much if any restriction after the first fill. I am contemplating calling the Doc on Monday if this is not normal. I can eat a good amount before feeling full. I am sticking to 1200 cals a day and have lost 20 lbs since surgery date on 7/13 but am worried that my old habits of overeating will rear it's ugly head. I do take this very seriously and have fended off hunger by drinking lots of water. Anyone felt this way after your first fill?

I'm pissed at my doc@
Just get back on the horse. you will be fine. BTW, how are you doing with rice? I have stayed away from it because of Dr. handouts naming it as food that could cause problems.

What a fabulous weekend!
That is wonderful that you got to spend time with the hubby. Sometimes we need to do just do things like that. The puppy is gorgeous!!! I am so glad to hear you talk about not feeling too restricted. We had our surgeries around the same day and I was not sure if it was me but I have definitely been able to eat more than 1/4 cup of food at a time. I can eat about a cup of food and sometimes 1 1/2 depending on the food. I am going into soft foods this week and am nervous about gaining weight. I have lost 15 lbs since surgery date and am very excited about it. I DON'T want to gain any back! As far as the BM, mine are pretty normal at this point but I did have a few rough days last week with diarreah. Glad it's over. BTW, I am getting my first fill on Aug. 19th. When are you getting yours? Thanks for posting your thoughts.

Day 7---- hmmmm nothing special happened
You are too funny!!! I have been doing more burping, Thank God! I definitely relate to the bra thing. I was a little nervous about wearing one coming home from the hospital. How are your incisions doing? All of mine are doing great except the one with the port. Do you sleep on your sides yet? I can sleep comfortably on my right side but not so much on my left. Good to see you are keeping a sense of humor.

Soul Searching
Hello Fellow Bandsters, I wanted to share some things I have been going through this last week. I was banded on July 13th and have been very excited about it since. However, I am also using this time to face some tough issues that I have not been able to do on my own. I decided to do the surgery to force myself into facing my demons. I have used food to comfort me, to lift my spirits or to just celebrate a monumental moment in my life or someone close to me. Prior to surgery, I started to understand that my relationship with food had become unhealthy. In social situations with food, I had anxiety about whether I would get enough to satisfy me and not embarrass myself with a heaping plate. I would sometimes eat snacks prior to going so I didn't look like a pig. Now that I have the lap band, I am doing some soul searching and re-evaluating my relationship with food and it's purpose in my life now. I have been experiencing some mild anxiety about food because I am still in the liquid portion of the diet but nothing I have not been able to handle. I am definitely ready for scrambled eggs or something with substance. My goal is to make food a tool to help sustain a healthy body. I am not saying I have arrived there yet but this is my goal and I will continue to put myself in situations where this is the case. Does anybody out there relate to this or has achieved this? I am interested to hear back from anybody with any great input. Thanks for listening.
