  1. I am in Iowa City. Banded in November. I have lost my motivation. I know what I should do, but I am out of strength to do it. I know I am an emotional eater. My band stops me from big meals, but I can slide down frozen yogurt and chocolate and hard candy all day. My husband tells me to call the clinic, but I don't want more guidelines to follow. I want somebody to help me deal with a very demanding job and not using food to comfort myself. It's all so much harder than I thought it would be.
  2. When I went in for my LAP-BAND® surgery, I tried to imagine the many surgeries I was avoiding by getting the weight off. Coronary artery bypass grafts, amputations due to diabetes and joint replacement would very likely be in my future if not for the band. I'd:laugh: rather face a laporoscopic LAP-BAND® revision someday than any of the above.
  3. What about an epidural, like some of us get when we have babies. The surgeon should have offered alternatives. Sorry it's so hard! You have been courageous.:wink2:
  4. Have you applied for Social Security Disability? You get Medicare with that after 24 months. Remember, most disability claims get denied the first time or two. Be persistent. Sorry to hear of your pain. Life can be so darn hard sometimes. Remember, there's a fat old girl in the midwest thinking of you.
