  1. I'm greek - on top of grilled veggies like squash or eggplant. I also do allow myself honey (the only time i eat sugar) and also mix in two tbpsns of flax seed meal (omega 3's and texture).
  2. Woo hooo!!! 2lbs down! 218.8! YAY!!
  3. chicken burger (let me clarify no bread) just ground chicken patty on the griddle... GROSS I really hate Chopped chicken. I don't know why i didn't marinade it like I would have chicken breast (with oil, lemon and oregano). I am eating a ton too (today is better I seem to have days where I am tighter than others go figure). When I went back on food right around day 10 after surgery and went on to mushies i gained back about 2.5 lbs then I lost it. Here is exactly what it was like (see below). I'm hoping I will be down a lb tomorrow I just have a feeling! UGH its annoying. I get a fill next week thank GOODNESS! Hope it helps. I upped my exercise going to gym now. So basically I lost 2 lbs in 2 weeks. It is expected that you will gain some weight when you go on solids because - you are upping your calories and your body will retain back some Water. The liquid diet was like a purge (also I'm thinking we lose muscle mass on that liquid and as you start eating normal and also exercising you gain some back). My clothes do feel looser so even though the scale hasn't gone down much in the two weeks I do suspect I am putting some muscle back on. 10/02/2009 220.8 Edit || started solid food on 9/30 09/27/2009 220.8 Edit || 09/26/2009 222.2 Edit || 09/22/2009 223.6 Edit || started mushies on 9/20 09/19/2009 221.2 Edit || the low while on liquid 09/17/2009 222.2 Edit || still losing 09/15/2009 225.2 Edit || 5 days post op - losing
  4. BCBS covered it all I paid 100 bucks. My doctors copays were 20 dollars (for the 6 months required until BCBS decided that they no longer needed the 6 months). The psychological consult was 250 (I would get that back when I get around to filing). It hink that was it. Whatever the cost was I don't know (yet) but it covers after care for 3 months as well.
  5. You will probably have more problems with more restriction. I was craving it the other day. I'm sure I can eat it too. My treat was the sushi the other day
  6. Also this is TMI but have you had BM's yet? They take a while too. Especially with the Vicodin.
  7. I guess there is always the sashimi - but i always prefer rolls! I will have to see what happens w/ the restrictions. I'm sure if you take tiny tiny bites and chew it would be fine??? And take forever to eat it?? At least w/ this food its ok if its cold!
  8. I do weigh the same time every day. I sometimes check for reference at night but i know I am 3 lbs higher at night or during the day.
  9. Good to know we have the same doctor I always like comparing notes  Do you go to the support groups (you can PM me). The flax seed in chile w/ cheese in the microwave is AWESOME! THe flax seed gets a nuttier flavor when heated up and gives more texture. Are you supplementing w/ Protein shakes regularly? Where do you get the 1/2 cup storage containers. Who makes them? I live on the UWS.
  10. Thanks! That is good advice on drinking hot tea before! I wanted to try it I am post op and on solids before my first fill Oct 14 so I have a comparison.
  11. I LOVE the greek yogurt but how do you get all that in a half a cup? yogurt, cereail and fruit? I was measuring right when i went to mushies and I eat a lot of fish (yes cooked in butter ... but at a half a cup it was hard to get the calories up there. I do the yogurt with honey and flax seed meal (they said here its a good source of Omega 3 and also helps with the hair loss i keep reading about). I can't wait to be eating a half cup - my first fill is oct 14.
  12. PS I only experience soreness where the port is. Exercise seems to make it worse but today I walked and I felt it being sore.
  13. I haven't felt nauseous at all. Its weird that it is non stop. Can it be something else like a bug? What have you been eating for mushies?
  14. Hi... I was debating yesterday whether to have some sushi. I am not sure if I can have it once restricted and I want to start experimenting w/ what I would eat out. So today I had two rolls - i ate very slowly and chewed well and no problem. Now if I start having a problem later w/ restriction i have a comparison - I did have a problem eating ground chicken the other day but I did eat fast.
  15. I weighed myself right away. I was curious. I don't have it recorded and can't remember anything (so that doesn't help you . 4 days after surgery I was down two lbs per the tickerfactory.
  16. me again - i should be clear - i am eating more than that and I am at about 900 to 1200 calories on a given day and I'm about at a cup a meal maybe 4 meals.
  17. Kiz I'm still unrestricted so not at the point where i can really stick to 1/2 a cup 3 times a day. My doc's guidelines on this is the same but meanwhile I do not think it is possible to eat 3 1/2 cup meals a day and still eat 1000 calories. how many calories do you eat.. do you know your nutritional breakdown?
  18. Yea I sometimes feel more restriction than other times - on given days and also time of day. Who knows Congrats on the other lb! and the overall weightloss! So what did totally full feel like at lunch? I tend to feel it in my chest i guess where the pouch is. Soon as that feels remotely tight I stop. I can't imagine you can get full in your stomach below but this is the new full feeling? Now the pizza? I might be eating the top off it
  19. Hi there! Yea not sure... sushi can trigger me - that rice is carbs and it is sweetened I believe. I figured I can not deprive myself in 3 months when I have more restriction and got used to my new way of life. I almost don't want to test the boundaries!
  20. nawlinzlady oh no no - there was no bread involved in this chicken burger I should have said ground chicken pattie - i made it myself and I added a bit of marinara and mozzarella on it. (I really HATE chicken burgers but love grilled chicken breast i will need to try this next). I'm with you - no carbs for me. I also have PCO so any carbs i eat go right to the hips. I don't even plan on trying to eat those things. When I lose 100 lbs then I'll consider it
  21. I regained 2-3 soon as I went on to mushies - I wasn't surprised though as the weight loss on liquid was too drastic so it was either water weight coming back (likely that was it) as it was instantanous. Now I am at about 2 lb a week. Or 1.5 a week. I am logging my food. I also am starting to have this internal struggle as follows: Part of me wants to order sushi tonight because i love it and when restricted may never be able to have it... Another part of me feels like experimenting w/ various food may open a Pandora's box... better off sticking to the sauteed sole. I am eating the sole as we speak. Anyone going thru this? But yes that is bandster hell. I am staying to within 1200 calories so something is going on and the other day w/ the ground chicken it took a while to go down.
  22. Thanks Dee I am at least back to walking will try the gym again tomorrow.
  23. I was just wondering what happened to you and went searching for updates. So sorry to hear of this infection. Your the second person that mentioned this MRSA??? Another person mentioned it on the incisions. What is it from? I never heard of it. Focus on getting better. Crossing fingers for a speedy recovery.
  24. My doctor's guidelines are if you are not losing 1-2 lbs for more than 2 weeks to call them. (that's what it says on paper) i'm still post op so my first fill is in a couple of weeks - YAY! (1 month out)
  25. Cool! can't wait to hear more. 4 sounds on the higher side if you read some of the posts here where they say it takes them 4-5 fills to get to the 'sweet' spot. Today i was eating a chicken burger and I definitely feel a difference as I ate 3 bites fast and it was stuck just not going down. This is before a fill so definitely not the same as before. I can't wait my weight has stalled.
