Got a new date...March 16th..kinda upset with my coordinator as I was not scheduled for on the day I thought and she didn't tell me. :scared0:I found out by a post on this board! Contacted the other coordinator, changed my tickets (Dr. Aceves is paying the difference) Changed my vacation at work PIA!! So now I am back on track. Sitting on the fence about an unfill , I have an appointment with a surgeon who will do it on Thursday. Gonna call today and try to resked. So worried about gaining too much weight I have been holding pretty steady +- 5 lbs. So close to goal. Weight loss ticker will go up when I weigh in for surgery. goal is 130. I can do this....
  3. Anyone else scheduled for the week of March 15th. I had to change my date (Dr. Aceves is not available) Everything worked out OK with the change (Had to change my plane flight-Dr. Aceves is going to pay the difference) I am arriving Monday the 15th @~9:30am. Let me know we can meet up, I am coming alone. D.
  4. Has anyone had a realize band removed during a revision? I am concerned because my port is attached with surgical clips and not sutures. D.
  5. AmyJ, Hope you are feeling better. You have lost 21# :thumbup1:? !!!!! Hang in there! TexasT, OK have to ask; I too am a tea-alcoholic( just regular Lipton no fancy stuff for me)! Did you switch to decaf?? I am weaning myself off of regular and miss my caffeine. Besides sugar it is the only "vice", if can call it that, I have left. How did the port removal go? I have a realize port and am concerned because it is attached with surgical clips not sutured in place. Getting my unfill next week, concerned I will gain too much weight back. already up 5 # my jeans are getting tight!!! :scared0: No way going to buy a bigger size... D.
  6. CAMom, Let me know what date you have, who is your coordinator? I have e-mailed Renee 2x and she has not replied??? I have some questions. Are you driving to Mexico? I fly into SD on the 11th. I too am nervous but feel confident I am making the right decision for me. (I KNOW I will have some "buyer's remorse" but since I anticipate this I will be better able to deal with it) Looking at this forum has really helped me. Knowing others have done this before me and are at goal AND holding (my #1 reason to do this) I have lost weight sooooo many times only to regain it. This truly the last stop for me as I would NO WAY consider a RNY. Keep in touch (you can PM me..) D.
  7. Great post! Thank you for the "tour" were the stores in the Mall just normal US mall stores?? or some tourist stores? Sounds like a nice walk. Did you feel safe???(Ok I know you are a dude...would you let your wife walk alone???)
  8. Are you taking a PPI (Nexium) sounds like acid reflux to me??? My understanding is no "pills" for at least a month??? Who did your sleeve? I would call them. D.
  9. Dee commented on Shontel's blog entry in Blog 1118
Shontel, Is the hole where they took out your port? I have my "large" incision by my port? I have realize band and the port is bigger, they attached it with clips vice sewing. What kind of band did you have. Hope you are still on the healing track. Do you remember what antibiotic they gave you? I am concerned with getting too much antibiotics with my revision. I have such paranoia about an infection! Glad to have the band removed? I get my unfill next Thursday, then one month till sleeve counting down! Thanks for posting the picture... D.

Stopped logging my food, I have done it so many times!! I KNOW what I need to eat! Can't wait to get this band unfilled. Got food stuck last night nausea and vomiting, It was just spaghetti So ready for the sleeve! !!! Weaning off the caffeine (still don't think it matters that much) but I am bound and determined to follow the directions Dr. Aceves gives me. I have no illusions that this is a major step for me. Got my samples!!! will start a list...
  11. What staples did you have? Did you have an open procedure? My understanding is that with a lap revision there would not be staples? I am concerned with them getting this port out aka a tumor. Take care of your wound and follow the directions in its care!-wash hands and keep the dressing in place!!! (protein helps the body to heal..) Did you get another antibiotic???
  12. Glad you made your decision. Let us know what the local surgeon thinks. I have told all the people that I am going to. (total of 6) I get the "you have lost weight before" "You're not that big" I totally relate to be a professional dieter! I choose Dr. Aceves because of his experience. I think I could have possibly gotten it done locally but I am having a revision and I want a surgeon who has done revisions. I am spending a lot of money. I plan on retiring from dieting and starting a second career... Good luck to you. Keep us informed.
  13. Has anyone gone back to their surgeon in Mx if they had complications? Seems like they would want to maintain their reputation? D.
  14. answer to my question? Thank you
  15. Dr. Jossart, "My Surgeon said the stomach heals 50% within 72 hours and 100% within 3 months. Leakage is something that usually happens right away or later if you vomit a lot. " any input to this? Is this true?? D.
  16. If the stomach is healed, I would hope vomiting would not rip it open! This should be a MAJOR concern if this is true! Holy c...... please tell me this isn't true...Gonna post to the MD on this site. D.
  17. Suggestion: Have your sister talk to Renee Dr. Aceves coordinator she is an RN.
  18. antibiotics, infections I am scheduled for surgery in March. Has one had an infection after surgery w/Dr. Aceves? (Just trying to get first hand information!) Do you remember what antibiotics they gave you? pre-op? post-op? got home developed infection more antibiotics? (gals:) Did you get a yeast infection after? (Think I might ask my PCP for a Diflucan) This is my biggest fear! D.
  19. update..I am getting my band unfilled ~1 month before revision. I am paranoid that I will get something stuck and then it will be irritated at the band site. Looking forward to eating a salad!!! This is becoming more real to me. I am excited and trying not to do the what if's. This site has been very helpful to me. Thank you for sharing your experiences! D.

Today I started logging my food on sparks. Going to have a complete unfill in two weeks want to make sure there is no irritation, and no chance I will get something stuck. I have steadily been gaining weight since I am only eating food that won't get stuck (I did have a corn chip and it did, last night-just "mild" stuck-no puking!) I get hungry.and make poor food choices (ice cream comes to mind..) Had a talk with myself.....These 6 weeks will prep me for the accountability I will need for post sleeve. The light at the end of the tunnel...
  21. Ok what is it???? I am a tea drinker (about a pot a day w/soy slender) I am addicted ! Drink it in big starbucks mugs! Make it in a coffee pot put 4 bags in were the coffee goes. Weaning to 2 decaf 2 reg. Will this really make a difference? Did everyone really give up caffeine? I like the diuretic effect feel like it flushes me out? if my pee is not dark then I am not dehydrated??? Trying to make sense of the no caffeine??? D.
  22. I had a relatively low BMI I have a lapband because I didn't want to remove a body part. Now almost 10 months later I hate the lap band. (food getting stuck, not being able to eat chicken, meat....having to chew my food to a pulp) But I did lose weight! I am doing a revision to a sleeve. It is a hard choice. Best of luck on your decision! D.
