  1. Oh that is soooooooooooo exciting!!!! :glare: I'm so happy for you! Catastrophe avoided! yay! :tt2:
  2. I know this is kinda late but a natural way to "loosen" stuff up is to eat a few bananas and/or drink a few glasses of fruit juice. It may be just what you need to get it goin' through! Good luck!
  3. This was almost the same thing for me, haha! I'd been looking into WL surgery since I was a teenager. I heard about the lapband in 2005 and started considering it. Big thing for me was I am not done having kids. I saw the great WL from Carnie w/ the gastric bypass, but then she got prego and put all the weight back on. That scared me! So w/ the band you can have a baby after they just adjust your fill to accomadate for the pregnancy. Sooooo, fast forward to 2007 when I joined my current company, I found out they approved it. I dragged my feet and then in May of '08 I did a seminar. Loved it! Dragged my feet some more and in Oct '08 heard we were switching to a new insurance carrier in jan '09. I knew my current insurance covered it but was afraid the new one wouldn't and I'd lose my chance. But I just called the new insurance and asked and found out it actually covered more AND covered the best surgeon and hospital in the whole phoenix metro. So it was fate for me to wait! So then oct '08-jan '09 I had to wait, to start my process. On 01-03-09 I went to a class, and it progressed from there. BCBS approved my surg in just a week!!! So glad I finally did it, wish it was sooner b/c I'd be skinny by now. But I guess the process went at a pace I could mentally and emotionally deal with. I love my band! Working on a name for her currently, the top 3 choices are up on my blog! haha!
  4. omg your story breaks my heart! My nanny (grandmother) was the same size as your mom, a wonderful person, an excellent special ed teacher, and just a blessed person to be around. i loved her as a second mother. she died in 2001 when I was 16 from cancer, and she was only in her late 50's. I was overweight from 8+ so she always told me, "Liz baby, please don't eat like that. I do not want you to end up like me. You are so young, get this under control." My nanny never lived to see me do so. I know she can see me now of course, and I talk to her all the time, but I wish she had the resources and help I have. I wish she could've done something, anything to still have my nanny. I'm sorry you had to raise your sisters but it shows how awesome of a person you must be! I'm going to pray for you guys today near the anniversary of your mother's death. xoxo, Liz
  5. Wow that's crazy that you can feel it pass!!!! Are you an Aquarius?? haha! Maybe you're just exceptionally "tuned in" to your body. I am, I know what's going on w/ it at all times, but I do not feel the food go through. I think you should get another fill just to try to process alittle furhter along in your journey but def talk to your MD about your concerns. Maybe they've heard of someone who could feel it. LUck luck luck!!!
  6. I am 6 wks out and the first 3 wks I weighed EVERY SINGLE DREADED DAY, just like you. But then I realized, I was doing everything right, felt so confident, felt strong and was so proud of myself....until the moment I stepped on that scale. When it didn't say what I wanted it to, it destroyed my mood, confidence, and day. I realized that negative feelings from that were causing me to snack during wk 3. So I put it away. I weigh once every week on Friday mornings, and I still don't like that it's not moving but I know in my head I'm doing everything right, I'm not gaining, and I'm holding onto my confidence and making new good habits until I get to that sweet spot. The scale really does deflate your confidence!!!
  7. Just wanted to give my opinion on this real quick. My md and nutritionist said no soda or carbonated beverage for the rest of your life. B/c the carbonation is the drink in your pouch can cause your pouch to swell, thus undoing the whole point of the surgery. They said it's the #1 reason why people fail after the surg. I have just made peace with not having it anymore!!!
  8. I had my first fill today. I have a 10cc realize band and I got a 4cc fill, per my surgeon's protocal. Next fill in 3-4 wks. I told my md i hadn't lost weight in 4 wks and he said I was doing perfect. Healing very well, jogging and walking, staying below 1100 calories and for me not to worry over it. I guess I will calm down and not be so hard on myself. The weight will come off in time w/ me doing what I am.
  9. thank you!!! i'm just trying to stay mentally strong b/c I know this will pass and I need to keep my good behaviors going and not revert back!!! Oh and i never asked my mD about jogging, i never imagined it'd be bad for me! I will have to ask!!!
  10. I just started running and I'm 258 lbs! it feels awesome and everyday I push further and further. And I do it at a gym where people look at me. I don't care, this is about me, my body, my goals. When I'm 150 and pounding on that treadmill they won't give me a second look. Unless of course they're starring b/c I'm so hott!!!
  11. Hi! I'm new here. 4 wks out from banding and haven't had fills so I'm in that horrible spots so I've been extra committed to working out. I started to c25k program 2 days ago. I did 3.2m in 60 minutes and then 56 minutes the second day. I see you guys do it in 30-40 mins so that will be my goal! Guys, I'm not losing any weight. I haven't lost "WEIGHT" in 3 wks now and I've done everything right, even workout 30-60 minutes a day 5-6 days a week. What am I doing wrong??
  12. OMG I loved and hated what I read on this thread. I am 4 wks out and about 2wks from first fill. I'm in bandster hell, officially, although still maintaining what I lost. I have been expecting to have more restriction w/ my first fill and then you guys say no, that sucks. I just pray for some reason I'm different and it's at least minor restriction b/c I can really get down an insane amount of food if I wanted to. Don't need to be doing that. I am planning on adding jogging soon so maybe that will also be the boost I need.
  13. I am 4 wks post op today and I'd say the "bandster hell" is the worst part. for the first 2 wks I was doing fab goin' through the "honeymoon phase" w/ restriction, losing weight left and right. But now I have no restriction and I'm giving in to the snack monster. I have faith I can do well b/c I have done really well just minor slip ups. I stay under 1100 calories a day, and work out 30 mins a day, so I'm just keeping my focus on that until my first fill on 7/28!!!
  14. Well goodluck. Sign up in the sept or oct group and you get can get to know some people going through the whole process where you are at as well. This is a great site for support!
  15. It's a great decision and this is a great site! Great people around here to motivate and support you, it's been my lifeline.
  16. My NSV's: down to size 20 down to 1x tops down a size in panties bra went from 40D to 38D,yay! still rockin' the boobage! I've been walking every day Lost another 7 inches this week w/ 2 lbs weightloss!
  17. what she was talking about it some people's partner's cannot deal with you losing weight. If both ppl are overweight, the "still overweight" person feels like they aren't good enough or the "losing weight" person feels better than they do. There have been a few guys on here that this happened to and the chicks eventually dumped 'em b/c they were fighting so much. I think it only seems to be a huge issue if your parnter is overweight or your partner has low self esteem and thinks you're going to leave them after you lose the weight.
  18. Ahhhh! you need to perk it up! They're 16's, woooo hooo! And you know what you should do to cheer up?? Measure yourself! The scale is not your friend, but you are NOT that number on that scale. Measure yourself and weeks the lbs won't go anywhere but the inches will fall off! It is such a motivator. Last wk I lost 1.5 lbs, but 10.25 inches!!! It's so weird but beyond amazing! I refuse to weigh myself now!
  19. Oh thank you so much, they are my life! They fixed me, made me who I am today!
  20. I updated them on here and my personal site. My fav is the last one, it's a 2 pic stomach collage, from after surg day to like 2 days ago! I can finally see the difference and where the 32 inches have come from! Super stoked and motivated!

  22. Thanks ladies!!!!
  23. ...body wraps! I was told they work and you maintain the result if you are eating properly and working out regularly. But if you are doing nothing, get them done, and continue to do nothing then you lose the result. So I'm figuring if I'll constantly be shrinking, would I maintain the results from a body wrap?? I already have 2 saggy areas I'd like toned up a little bit. Any help would be fabulous!
