Jailin - I'm so sorry that you are feeling so bad! I hope that you hear from your surgeon's office soon. I certainly would not think it would be healthy for you to be so weak and lethargic. Hang in there!:biggrin:

My surgery is a week from today (August 4th) and I am starting to freak out! What if I fail?!?! I KNOW that I am doing the right thing by having the surgery and I am SO EXCITED about getting healthier and feeling better physically....so, why am I freaking out??????? OK..I feel a little better.....but not much!:biggrin:

Help! I am starting to freak out about my surgery on August 4th! I have been so excited about getting my band and I still am but now I am starting to have a huge fear of failure! My husband (my soul mate and best friend all wrapped up into one!) is a great support and I know that he will continue to be after the surgery. My best girlfriend had the surgery 18 months ago and has had great success. So, I also have support there. I am 40 years old, (current weight 243, height 5' 5", BMI 40) Christian mother of a beautiful 8 year old daughter and a wonderful 5 year old (step)son. As I said earlier, I am married to the love of my life (we were married in June 2008. We dated for 2 years 23 years ago and were reunited in 2006). My life/family is awesome and I want to be healthy & active and to be around to watch my kids grow up! Thank you!

Yesterday was my pre-op testing/physical. The doc says I'm healthy as a horse and should have no problem going thru the surgery. YEAH! Today was my pre-op dietician/nurse class. My wonderful hubby took off work to go with me. He is AWESOME and has been so involved in the whole process. I could not ask for a better support system. 10 days until my surgery. WOW, time is flying! I'm a little nervous about the surgery, not about whether or not I should do the surgery but instead just nervous about the pain that may follow. Other than that I am SO EXCITED and SO READY to begin this new journey to better health and a better ME....I DESERVE IT!

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah and I am from Greensburg, Indiana. My surgery is scheduled for August 4th at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital. My surgeon will be Dr. Christopher Evanson. I am 40 years old, weigh 242 and am 5' 5" tall. My current BMI is 40. I am tired of being tired and no feeling well so I am taking this step to improve my health as well as my self-image. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Yesterday I received a phone call from my surgeon's office. My surgery date is August 4th! Woot....woot!!!!! I am so excited. My physical exam and xray's/testing will be July 23. Okay....now I'm getting nervous!

Received an email from my surgeon's office yesterday. They have, in hand, a copy of my insurance approval letter (I still haven't gotten my copy yet). Their surgery scheduler will call me in approximately 2 weeks with my surgery date and further instructions. Dr. Evanson's schedule is out approximately 3 months. I could be looking at end of August or into September (as an estimation).:crying:

I just spoke with my insurance company and was told that I have been APPROVED for surgery! I should be getting my letter in the mail in the next few days!

My surgeons' office assured me that they had faxed my insurance company on 6/2/09 the following:pre-determination request, along with the Physician Verification form for a total of 62 pages. They then called my insurance this AM and were told that apparently they my insurance) are simply "Blue Shield" of California, not Blue Cross/Blue Shield (even though the shield and cross are both on my insurance card - confusing!!!) Anyhow, ins. gave dr. office another form and fax number and they resent my your pre-determination. SOOOOOOO.....we'll see how that flies! :thumbup:

I've never done the "blog thing" so here goes!! :crying: I've enjoyed reading other's blogs on here and have gotten lots of inspiration. Right now I am waiting on my insurance company to respond to my Dr.'s request for predetermination. My psych. eval is done and all of my paperwork is done. It's just a waiting came at this point. I did call my ins. co yesterday to see if they had made a determination yet but they told me that there was not authorization showing up yet. I will give them until Monday and try again.
