No freak out, but it was very different. Both fill were done this way and have worked very well. It could be done without the flouroscope like this, but I like the picture of everthing in-place and working right. When I loose the 3 1/2 inches of fat that cover my port I will feel better about not causing a leak. My port is hard to find by hand and the flouroscope makes it a one stick thing.

If I get stuck it my clear in a few minutes, but it will feel bad for 10-12 hours. I will stop eating, and goodness sake not drink anything untill it clears. I put myself back on fluid only for that 10-12 hours. It dumb not to chew till it is paste, but like moma said "If your going to be stupid, you had better be tough".

The Doctors control the information (AMA) there is more money in other opperations. We the consumer need to drive the market for safe, effective, less cost and the way to do it is to push. A free market works.

You can feel the water sitting in and not going down. It is not like anything before. When the fill is backed off till it goes down you will know.

Hey Randy: Picture this...a gut that has no place to release the gas from carbonation...sounds like a bomb. That is what you will be making inside your body. After banding you will have more gas than you ever did before without the carbonation. You will learn to move around to allow a burp to release the pressure. Try to lessen anything that makes gas ore you may explode, or wish that you did. Good Luck Banding works but has limits. Listen to others so that you do not need to have their pain.

BJean: he is your Dr. and I would listen to him. It works for me and may not for someone else. I have been told that 2-3 days after a fill it will be tighter than when first filled. This has been true for me, I have been tight for about a week. That means that if I eat solid food it must be chewed till it is soft and wet. The Dr. has offered to be avaliable 24/7 if it is too tight. As long as I do not use bad habits it goes well. I feel that the problem is that if you do not follow directions well and don't chew you will be in discomfort. Eating is so natrual that we must fight the act of being "normal". It is our brain that we must control. I tell myself all the time, eat slow, chew, chew some more....

Growing out of my clothes, wish I had some of the old ones now. I got a pair of suspenders to keep my pants from falling off. HaHa what a complaint.

Meds on hand, sounds like if you have them-you will never need them. Go get the meds, I would prefer to waste the money and not be sick!

I am looking folward to my next fill. I like seeing the flouroscope of my band in place (no slip) and the right amount of restriction. No guess work as to how much to add.

Good comment Sue. DS is a more drastic type of opperation. Observations and comments like you make are needed to help people do their own homework. I for one like your efforts.

In the US the band has less time on the market than other options. It will take more effort to have studies that show banding as less cost, as effective, and better in the long run for all. It takes longer to loose as much weight as by-pass, at about the three year mark they are the same. Banding does not have the life-long problem of nutrution that by-pass has. Total reversal with the band is possable if in the future something new is better. As of now from a patient point of view the band is best.

I could feel the band tighting, It was not painfull, just strange. This happened with both of my fills. Both fill have caused a restriction and were done under flouroscope. The band was filled untill water would not go down then some of the fill was removed. A barrium drink showed that a nice flow was working. I am happy paying the extra for the flouroscope and getting resualts.

My girl has started to say that when I loose some more she wants me to have a TT. As a guy it never crossed my mind untill she pointed out that she could have bragging rights with her girl friends. I am hoping to avoid it and will give it time to srink as much as possable. The problem of the overhang causing my skin to break down (wet, red, open to infection) is still small. I kept it dry, use power and deorderant. One of the ladies said that it was like "putin on a smiley face" with the deorderant. I use some triple antibiotic (neosporin) if it looks like its going to get out of hand. Any way as for sex, once you have healed 6-8 weeks gust take it easy. No having your girl bounce off your belly to hard. One of the females has suggested that the guys eat a lot of pinapple to flavor their cum, claims that the girls like it.

I had the flu-virus a week ago. 3 day of no eating, not wanting to drink, shitting untill it was clear. I had to force myself to drink gatoraid. Back to normal now, not fun. Band is fine

VG Band no fill when installed. I felt tight, first fill under flouroscope, filled untill water would not go down. Some of the fill was removed untill the barriun would go down. That fill worked great 4.5cc. 30 days later second fill, flouroscope showed that everything was ok. Again fluid was added untill water was stuck. Then the fluid was removed untill the water goes down. 1cc added for a total of 5.5cc. I am very happy with the fills and the way they are done. I am on tract with my loss of weight. I must be carefull what I eat. I no longer go to burger king and order 4 whopper and 4 fries.
