    Making some progress

So since my last Blog I started having a protein bar, protein shake & just 1 balanced meal a day. The protein bar helped me with my appitite & the cravings are not there. I also started walking about 2 miles in the evening with my husband & kids, in addition to my lunch time walks (everyday). It feels so good to watch the scale go down every day pound by pound. My follow up with the Surgeon was moved up to yesterday and it went well. I was a little disapointed that my (second) fill was only 1.5 cc's. So the band now has 4.5 cc's, but I'm very confident with the Dr's choice. I'm feeling pretty good for the progress I've made :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

    6/9/09 Motivation

It's all a process, I can only handle changing one habit at at a time. I'm right there with you. I started increasing my walking in the evening & a little at lunch time sometimes by myself, just me and my mp3 player. That and having protein shakes & bars have really started to move the scale! Take Care

    Go kick some rocks.

My husband's Nana is a unthoughful Pain in the neck. She is Mexican and constantly feeds my kids fast food & crap. She raised my husband since he was a child, when we started dating in high school I gained about 30 pounds. She was the only one to not be supportive and give me grief about getting the lap band. It was almost like she didn't want me to have success or pure ignorance, not quite sure?? I told her if she didn't have nothing nice to say about it I didn't want to hear her. I have never stood up to her in 15 years, but she pissed me off. I know she got my point because when her daughter came in & I was explaining it, she told her daughter to leave me alone. I'm just glad the rest of the family is good to us. Has your father changed?

    6/2/09 First Fill

You are a great writter! Love the stories & humor! My first fill was 5/12/09 & I don't have any restriction. When my coworkers tell me I look good and ask how much weight I have lost (25lbs). For some reason I feel the need to explain that this weight loss is from the surgery diet restrictions and when I get restriction should really start to loose weight whe I get restriction. 25 pounds is huge for me but I haven't lost any more & I'm thankful. I have had a few CrAzY cravings, one night I sent my husband to get me peanut m&m's @ 10:30 at night. I don't want that to happen any more! I talked to my Dr's office & they said it may be because I'm not getting enough protein. The very next day made sure I went to CosotCo to buy the premier protein shakes & bars my Dr's support group recommended. They really help, the last couple of day's I haven't had and cravings. Beware fo CRAVINGS...

    Getting Focused

I had my surgery on 4/15/09, just about 7 weeks ago. My surgeon is wonderful and I'm very happy with having the surgery. I was 241 pounds & have lost 24 pounds (mostly from the the pre-op & post-op diet requirements). I was told that it would take approximatly 3 fills to get the band the right size. I had my first fill of 3 cc's 5/12, my next one will be 6/11.The Dr said after the swelling from surgery went away I would get my appitite back, he was right! I have been doing my best to get exercise (walking), eat my protien & drink lots of water or Crystal Light. I have snaked on not so healthy snacks a couple of times, but for the most part I've been good with the food choices but not the portion. I'm hungry and worried when I eat I'm streching out the pouch. My friend told me to ask for an appitie suppresent, so I did and the Dr is out of the office untill 6/11. The other suggestion was to make sure I'm getting enough protein and maybe drink Muscle Milk shakes. I knew before starting the whole weight management process that I would have to diet with the Band and it wouldn't be a cure all for loosing the weight. With my band not being effective enough throught these next 5 weeks or so (3rd fill will be in July). My goal is to loose 1-2 pounds a week through August. So I need to get myself a meal plan that works for me and really motivate myself to spend at least a hour a day exercising even if I have to split it up into 30 minutes at a time...
