    Zoloft anybody?

I suffer from anxiety attacks and my PCP gave me Zoloft to contol them and to try to fight my deppression... I must say that the first 2 months of taking it I was a new woman! I loved it! But then I was always in bed...sad...and even more depressed than when I started! I weaned myself off them little by little and OMG! The Side effects of the withdrawl are HORRIBLE! I felt like electric shocks all over my body! My mood swings were uncontrolable for about 2 weeks...glad to say its all over. I now control my anxiety with Ativan. Bottom line everyone reacts different to all meds..this was just my experience...becareful and I wish you the best!!!
  2. First of all, I am so sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, Second, I cant seem to find an answer to all of my questions about life with the sleeve.... I am going to post a whole bunch of questions and you dont have to answer all of them, only the one you know the answer to (just to make it easier) I Live in theTexas Border and I am currently going to DR. MICHAEL C. MORRIS, M.D. (Lone Star Surgical) General, Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgeon He is a fairly young Dr. But He's the Trauma Director, Sub-director of ICU and Medical Director of Bariatrics at the Laredo Medical Center. (One of the Only 2 hospitals we have here) So I thought it was one of my best choices..... (Any Comments on Dr Morris?? Has anybody here been sleeved by him??) Anyhow.... as for my questions... I am Hispanic, so our foods are TRADITIONAL, We dont eat them often but when we do I would love to at least have a taste... 1-Compared to the lapband how difficult is it to eat "whatever"? Am I going to feel like I am going to die if I have a bite of something not considered Diet food?? 2-Does the sleeve control your life as much as the band? 3-Has anybody gotten pregnant with the sleeve? If so how did it affect you? 4-Can you vomit with out any consequences? Unlike the band that puking is a BIG NO NO! (I mean 10 months after my surgery, if I get the Flu, will I be ok to let it take its course with all the puking?) 5-Do you get MALNURISHED with the sleeve? 6-Once you have reached your weight goal....can you STOP loosing weight? ( I dont want to be 5'7 and be 98lbs you know?) 7-Will I have to visit my DR every 2-3 weeks like with the band for the rest of my life?? 8-WORST PART ABOUT HAVING THE SLEEVE?? 9-CAN YOU DO SIT UPS AND CRUNCHES WITH THE SLEEVE? (dumb question I know) 10-Is weight loss really alot faster with the sleeve than with the band?? 11-Worst part about the sleeve Diet? Ok I think that is all for now:blushing: Knowing me I will probably have more later..... Thank You :001_smile:!!!
  3. OMG!! Its like you looked in my brain and posted my thoughts...I am also 28 yrs old. I am 5'8 252 lbs size 18-20 mother of 1 I have been thinking about this surgery for about 1yr. I also started researching the band as well but it was tooooo many side-effects to worry about. One reason I am scared of getting this is the weight loss...the older we get the more nutrients our body needs, and what if this prevents it from happening.... CANCER and its treatments (lord forbid) Cancer treatments really mess you up...will We be able to recover with a sleeve??? I dont know what to think, somedays I say YEAH go for it I will do it...and others I am like scared out of my mind... I have a little girl and she is my main concern, I wan to live to see my grandchildrens children...lol you know? I guess we can help each other out....calm each other down and support each other when needed...
  4. Well Hello!:yo: I am a TEXAS GAL, and I am here to get all the info you guys are willing to share. I want the Good, The bad, And the UGLY! (please) After doing LOTS, and LOTS of research, I have decided to get the sleeve instead of the Band.:001_smile: I recently found out that My insurance will cover the sleeve (BCBS FEP) needless to say that was a plus. I am curently in the process of meeting with my Dietician, and getting a Psyc evaluation. I have a long way to go before surgery but I gave my first step in getting healthy! I wish everyone the best, and thank you for having a place like this!

  12. Oh my poor Guy!!! That is just terrible!! But no I didnt mean for people to choose their Drs based on the fact that they have medical mal practice issues or not..... I just said my story and my experience and.... I Know not all Cities in Mexico are bad, that is why I also said, That I dont know Mexicali..... it wouldnt be fair to compare it to Nuevo Laredo, or Monterrey if I have never seen it or been there. It was just a an my Opinion and my experience. But I am sure You living in or near Tucson, (My husband was born and raised in Tucson area) Nogales is actualy in the same crime rate or even worse than Nuevo Laredo. Isnt it sad though???? How it just got so bad?? Being able to cross the Border "whenever" we wanted was AWSOME. Anyways I am sorry once again for my post, and I repeat I didnt mean anything wrong or I didnt mean to compare all mexican cities to just 2 bad ones. I am just paranoid now.....

    tell us about yourself

I am 27 years old, Born the day after Christmas... I have 2 older sisters and 1 younger Brother. I have very Old fashioned parents, My Father is a typical Mexican MACHO. His word was our Command. My Mother was has always been at his beck and call. She has no life and lives in Constant fear of him... He is not physically abusive but he is verbally abusive. What he says goes always has and always will.... He has always been a very demanding person. Would always tell us off for the smallest thing. He has been an EXCELLENT FATHER and Role Model. He is very strong and he never gives up.... Due to my father's character, My Mother was addicted to Xanax for many, many years... Due to my Parents Constantly fighting , my Mother would take out her frustration out on us. At the age of 7 my father had his first heart attack he was 40 At the age of 10 my father had open heart surgery 5 by passes At the age of 16 My father had an eye surgery gone wrong which left him blind in one eye and reduced vision in the other. In 1998 (I was about 16 as well) My Mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. So, My father being the type of man he is, made my Mothers battle that much harder. Both my sisters were already married so that left me to take care of the House, take care of my brother, and manage High School at the same time. Also at 16 I met who is now my husband. Things at home were very tough, and I needed a way out. My Boyfriend 9who is now my husband) moved 300 miles away and we maintained a long distance relationship for a couple of years, Came year 2000 it was my senior year, My father's attitude only got worse, I broke up with My now husband and started going out with the Ever so popular Football player. He gave me that shoulder to cry on, while things at home were terrible. After 5 months of dating Prom night came and he told me he too was moving due to a College Scholarship to play football. Till this day I dont know why, But we Eloped.... we went to the court house and got married at the age of 18. 35 days after he left I had to get it annulled. He left and that was that. I was my own Lawyer at 18 I got all the papers together and Annulled my marriage. 2 years later my now husband shows up tells me he loves me, and we got engaged Jan 5 2002, and got married Nov. 7, 2002. I got Pregnant Feb. 2003 and had my daughter Nov. 28 2003. Moved to Houston in 2004. Lived there till 2007 and Moved back to My home town that same year cause of my Husbands Job. I thank God everyday for my Family, my parents, and siblings, But I think it has made me to be a very tough person. Long story but this is me......Thanks to that I Became a resposible, well mannered, dont take any BS type of perosn. I am a girly girl, but dont push my buttons cause you will see a part of me NOBODY likes.... I Now have a Great life. I Became a Christian (catholic up bringing). My DH got the job of his dreams (Homeland Security)and I became a Stay at home Mom. My life was full of drama, and stress. I am now suffering the consequences of all that. I am overweight and suffer panic attacks. All thanx to my childhood........... Oh well thats life....

    Reflections from a Fat Chick

I dont know if it is just the Women in our age group... (mid to late 20's ) but, I have read ALOT of similar stories..... including mine. Got married in early 20's.... weight was fine, then KABLAM! Grown Up DUTIES! Depresion kicks in, anxiety, sadness, over-eating, and weight gain, sadness. Having kids just adds to all of it! Life is just a HUGE battle. I dont know if it is that we expected married life to be different or we are just exagerating, but it is soooooo hard to deal with daily issues especialy with all this extra weight. I am not the best person to give advice, but I sure can listen (or read) lol I am very proud of Women Our age to take control of our lives NOW. :thumbup:Good for you! This will really be a NEW BEGINING for our Generation.... watch you will see! I wish you the best on your journey and Thanx for sharing your story! (its relieving to hear I am not alone)
  23. Here are 2 of my babies! lol didnt have to ask me twice!:001_wub:Yellow Girl and chocolate boy! I luv'em!!
