  1. I haven't been here in a couple weeks. I just had my second fill this past week on Tuesday, I missed Friday for weighing in, but today Im at 198! I finally got below 200, Wow. Havent seen that in like 14 yrs. Only bad thing is, I think my second fill is too much. I dont understand, she only put 1cc in, and I felt like I needed one. The weight loss picked up wonderfully, but I cant keep anything down. All I can do is liquid or protein shakes. Everyday I try a little soft food, but it feels stuck every time. I actually got some yogurt in ok yesterday, found out I can only hold 2 ounces. Weird. I guess Ill be calling them on Monday if this doesnt get a little better. Im still not complaining tho. I'm just happy to see Onederland!)
  2. Congrats everybody! I'm late checkin in this week, busy weekend!! As of Saturday, the 1st, I had only lost one pound for the week. But a pound is a pound & I'll take it. My body says it's time for my second fill, but its not scheduled til next week, so we will see.
  3. Interesting! I never heard that, but its good info. I'm lucky that I can light the oven at work, which Im going to try tonight for dinner. At our center, they keep it so freaking cold inside, I have to wear a jacket all the time. Which is pretty weird when I step outside & feel the difference. Im going to try some tilapia in the oven & heat the asparagus on the stove instead of microwave like u said. I keep finding foods I cant tolerate. Its so weird.
  4. Man, I'm glad I found this forum, you all are full of wonderful information. Everywhere I look, info info info. Lovin it. I can relate to alot of this and realize I need to listen to what's being said. I went back to work yesterday for a 12 hour shift. We are on the phones, so breaks are far and few between & cant be scheduled. So its usually a few hours in between. So last night by the time I got my dinner time it was 6pm, and Ive been eating at like 5 or 530. I was STARVED. Yup, got like the third bite stuck... and we only get 30 mins. Shees. I think I need my 2nd fill which I havent had yet. I only go like 3 hours feeling full. Plus I need to chew my food.. chew chew chew. I catch myself forgetting to chew Completely. All it takes is that one little piece that got by because Im being impatient. I'll have to beat these things into my head.
  5. I just found this thread, it is hilarious! Brought tears to my eyes from laughing because sadly, I can relate. I'm only down 26 pounds, but I went from a large C cup to a B cup. Looks like I'll be looking at boob jobs before long. Are they expensive? I'm guessing so. My SO seems to think that if the Dr can put a needle in and pump some saline (or whatever it is) into the Band, that he can also hook up some device to suck the fat out of one place and pump it into the boob area. He discusses this at dinner with us. He's a character alright. :cool2:
  6. Down 2 lbs from last week. And I think it all was the past 3 days with running. Or trying to. 207 - 7/17/09 205 - 7/24/09
  7. Way to go Claudine, way to go!!! Wow. I want to do as well as you! Did my 2nd day today, and much to my amazement, I did better than the first day. I actually did an entire 60 secs of running in one shot. Only once, a couple of close seconds tho. I just keep thinking to myself, you can do it... But I was literally ready to fall down when I got home, lol. I like this. I feel like really Accomplished something & have more to accomplish.
  8. I had my first fill, but I think I will need another one. I need to work on getting my exercise in, I'm such a procrastinator. I tried the couch to 5k over in another thread & thought I was gonna DIE, lol. But I'm going to try and stick with it. My clothes are all loose & been able to fit in a few I havent worn in some time. I dont feel alot of restriction either, unless I dont chew a piece of chicken good enough, then look out. I'm not really sure on this... but when they give you a fill.. isnt just making the "entry hole" into your stomach smaller? Is actually making the pouch smaller too, or just where it goes in? I feel like my fill just made the "entrance" a little smaller, but I still can eat more than I would want to.
  9. Welcome! I have Carefirst also. Yes they are pretty good about this whole thing. I only had 2 minor snags that worked themselves out. They wouldnt approve my psych eval until I found a Dr that knew how to code it properly.... or something like that. Then when it was all said and done they said they weren't paying for the operation. After I had it! I was like Ut ohhhh... But I called my Dr office & they said not to worry because it was pre-approved. So they re-submitted & all is well.
  10. I have this really cute shirt I bought on sale, its now been 2 yrs! Didnt think it would take this long to get into it, but there it sits waiting for me to fit into it, lol. Ohhhh I love your Wii Fit goal! I'm making that one of mine too! I hate how it tells me every time "Obese!" bla. Good thread!
  11. Congrats! This is an exciting time for you. Having something good to look forward to is such a wonderful thing! Good luck!
  12. Hey, thanks for the siggie!! Hope u dont mind if I copied it. Great job!
  13. I DID IT! Yay~ Ok, so my hat is off to ALL of you that run for 60 secs or more at a time! I tried the Couch to 5k podcast yesterday. Let me tall ya, I cannot run for 60 secs straight! I thought I was dying, lol. So I kept at a fast walk & ran as much as I could. And I didnt even trip over my feet like I thought I would. My thigh muscles are so sore today. Good thing it says take a day in between. Ok, so maybe tomorrow I can do 60 secs... we'll see. Try try again. I ran thru the neighborhood & didnt care, tried to remember what everybody said on here. A dog chased me... hahahaha. He wasnt vicious.
  14. Thanks Greytz! And hey there neighbor! (Linda) You're just over there in Howard Co, cool deal. I'd like to keep in touch too. My latest thing is making myself exercise. Or starting, that is. And sticking with it. We'll see. I'm going to try that Couch to 5K podcast. Sounds daunting. But I'll try anything once. Let me know how you're doing too! If you are ever on yahoo or facebook, I'm there too. I'll give you my name there if you are. I think it's the same as here.
  15. Hey, question... what is this Couch to 5k program you guys are talking about? Is it a DVD or a meeting or what? Sounds interesting. I have never ever been a runner. But both of my daughters enjoy it so much, makes me wonder what I'm missing. Maybe something I could do with them. I'm afraid to start though, and I can't figure out why. I've always been clumsy, I think I'm afraid I would stumble over my feet & break something, lol. But anyway, what is it? (edited)- Ok, I realized there was more than one page to this thread and found the link that was posted earlier. My bad. You all are very inspiring!
  16. I was banded on May 18th, 2009 by this Dr's partner, Dr Peter Liao. They are The Best! Wonderful practice, friendly, informative & they take care of everything. Plus they have been doing it for a long time.
  17. Walmart. Really. :cursing: And its probably cheaper than GNC.
  18. Could be the stomach flu too. This same thing happened to me on Tuesday & Wednesday of this past week. It was so bad it scared me, lol. I called my Dr office & talked to the nurse & she asked me a bunch of questions & concluded mine was stomach flu. Plus she said its been going around lately. I was so happy to hear that. Would rather it be stomach flu then something wrong with the band.
  19. I was never lactose intolerant until this past year, and mine actually started before I had the lapband surgery. But after the surgery, it got incredibly worse. So I avoid milk at all costs, I like soy milk just fine now days.
  20. Oh Congratulations!!!!!!! I cant wait until that happens to me! I'm so happy for you  I know exactly how you feel. I havent been under 200 since 1993. I tried so hard on diets before & the closest I got in the past was 203 and I couldnt get below that. Now I'm 207 & just had my first fill so Im looking forward to that 199... I'm pretty sure I will cry too. Congrats, congrats :cursing:
  21. I took 10 working days, which wound up equaling (sp?) 16 days off for me with regular days off in the middle. I was going to go back sooner, after the first week. But I had a complication, my body decided it didnt like the dissolvable stitches. So you know how when you heal, it itches? Well, I thought thats all it was at first. Then it got insane! I went in and they gave me a short few days worth dose of prednisone. My job is sitting on the phones all day, so it's not like it's physically strenuous. But mentally... it can be from time to time. 911 calls, you never kow what's on the other end of the line.
  22. I'm very glad to find this site! My name is Cathy, I was banded on May 18th, 2009. So far I just had my first fill on July 15th. I think Im in my green zone, but barely. I kind of think I might have another fill, but Im not too sure yet with this being new. I've lost 24 lbs so far & feeling good. Found out I have a lactose intolerance that I never used to have. I live in Pasadena, MD, and my Dr is Peter Liao. I think he is just wonderful. He is out of GBMC in Baltimore.
  23. I didn't cheat on the preop. But afterwards... like a week after I had this insane craving for Cheetohs, lol. I found out if I have just a couple Im satisfied. So now days if I get a really bad craving Ill let myself have a small portion, and its usually harmless.
