  1. Hey Everyone! I got my first fill today. More than 2 months after surgery. It was way over due as I had not lost any weight in the last month. I got 3cc and was told to be on liquids for the next two weeks. Is this what everyone else was told? I plan on following his directions because I definitly need to loose some weight but was wondering how everyone else did it. I read most of the posts and it seams that most people did fluids for 24-48 hours then slowly went on to normal foods.
  2. Im envious of all those who have had 2 fills already. I just got my first fill today (3cc) and Im hoping to see some weight loss. I haven't lost nearly a pound for weeks now. I was totally able to eat whatever I wanted and in any amount I wanted. I hope the fill will change all of that. My dr put me on 2 weeks of Fluid only again. So I'm sure this will have an impact on my weight loss. goodluck everyone
  3. Dont know how but I lost 1 pound this week... I'm happy considering its been 2 weeks with no weight loss. cant wait for my first fill on the 23rd 233 start 216 today
  4. Another week of no loss for me ... July 23rd just seems so far away. Im hoping my first fill will help move the scale, preferably to the desired side. I have been stuck at 219lbs for the last 2 weeks. Goodjob everyone!
  5. Unfortunately I have not lost any weight this week... I need a fill so bad, but will have to wait it out till July 23rd! gurrr Congrats to everyone who is doing so well!
  6. Well my Dr said a month later was too soon also, I wouldnt have an issue with waiting this long if I wasn't so hungry all the time. being on low calorie diet is hard! I have lost nothing in the last 2 weeks and Im actually surprised I havent gained anything. Well I wish you luck ad hopefully we will see some weight loss soon!
  7. OK May 26-er's It seems as though I have hit a wall completely. I have only lost a pound since June 16th or so. Im frustrated, I don't get a fill until July 23rd because my doctors on a month long vacation. I have a great appetite and I'm constantly hungry. I don't pass more than 1100 calories a day and I walk 30-40 min daily. WTH is going on. Sorry for the vent ladies/gents i guess my frustration point is peaking. When did you all have your fills or plan on having them, everyone I spoke to seems to have either gotten or is getting their fill within the next week or so. thanks for reading
  8. Lost only 1lb this week.... July 23rd (first fill) can't come any sooner..

  11. Hey Xavier, So cool that you almost went to dr D hes a really neat guy, and yeah its really nice to see a dr who has had it himself. Glad your surgery went well also... Glad the hernia is gone. You did the right thing by going to someone who is on your providers list, you just never know. Goodluck to you...Keep in touch

  13. Hey Everyone I just found this thread! I got banded on May 26th by Dr. David Davtyan at Cedars Sinai in LA. Dr & hospital were both awesome. My Dr didnt have a pre-op diet either. I had my 9 day check up yesterday and everything seems to be healing just fine and I've lost 9lbs since surgery date. so its exciting, but on the same token there were two other woman in the office who had their surgery 2 days after me and had lost 13lbs each  Kinda felt like a looser! Im on phase II with the mushy foods and so far I'm able to handle everything (which is kinda scary) and feel super hungry towards the evening nearly every night. Craving chocolate like there is no tomorrow, hope all these yucky cravings will go away without me caving in. Has anyone had their first fill yet? How soon was it after surgery? My dr said if I didnt loose weight for 2-3 weeks he would do an adjustment, ofcourse assuming I was already 6 weeks post-op. Goodluck everyone
  14. Hello Everyone, I was wondering what the average cost was on getting fills. Do insurance companies cover the visit as a routine office visit or does the Drs office bill them for different procedures. Im just wondering, I never asked my dr about this and was curious. Thanks K
  15. 10 pounds is what i have lost since one week before surgery...So you are way ahead of me! thats awesome. Are you still on liquids? My dr allows all soups obviously strained from the begining..as long as it can be sipped he said anything was fine including creamy soups. So now im wondering if thats whats holding me back from dropping weight. But seriously though, i take a few sips and im full, maybe all day long combined I have one large bowl of soup, you would think the weight would be just melting off with a bowl of soup a day. We shall see. Thanks
  16. Mine is exactly the same but on the left side and I had surgery on the same day as you and im still super tender in the port area, coughing, sneezing, deep breaths are still very painful. I guess it could be gas also. Hope it goes away soon.
  17. thats awesome georgia!!!!! keep up the good work
  18. For those of you with surgery on the 26th have you guys lost weight? it seems that since surgery, 1 week tomorrow I have seriously only lost 2lbs i feel stupid, I have seen many loose lots of weight the first few weeks. im still on liquids mainly but I was starving last night and had yogurt and did pretty well with it. Thanks K
  19. Ok I believe its my turn to post. I had surgery last tuesday and have had one tiny marble( on day5) since then its been nothing but gas. I feel like I'm going to explode if I don't go soon...My belly is huge and tight and I just really need to go. My Dr. said to add prune juice to my diet and I have been doing that for 3 days now to no avail. I tried a glycerine(sp?) suppository and that was wonderful getting the gas out but thats all. Any suggestions? Im considering the milk of magnesia today if I'm not productive. Pushing has really hurt my port area incisions.. I hate this feeling I feel like a balloon waiting to burst. Thanks K
  20. I felt that way the first few days after surgery..today is day 5 and I feel alot better minus the port area pain. Hope you feel better soon K
  21. Goodluck to all of us tomorrow who have surgeries scheduled. Best Wishes K
  22. Hello Everyone, This is my very first post. I have surgery set for May 26 at 1pm. Im super nervous as this whole procedure happened really fast. I was approved by my insurance on May 21 and was scheduled for May 26 and was told not to worry about the pre-op diet. Im currently 230lbs at 5'5" I stopped smoking the day I was informed of the surgery. Im scared to death. ALL that I read it says you must stop smoking 2 months prior. Its been only 4 days, I wasnt a heavy smoker, 1-3 cigs a day quitting hasnt been difficult as I had mentally prepared my self when I first decided to have the band. But Im just super worried that my dr kinda rushed things, I havent quit long enough for the nicotine to leave my system. Is my liver size going to be an issue? SO many questions. The surgeon I have has done more than 1000 bands and has had amazing success rate. Im just shocked at how fast things happened. I know he has put many others on a 2 week pre-op diet, many that were near my weight and size too. Im kinda confused. Or is it just my anxiety? Am I making a mistake? My mom got her band last year and has lost over 80lbs and is doing wonderful. She used a different surgeon and she did an extensive pre-op diet. Im so scared. Thanks for reading tina
