Hello all! I was banded 7/22 and have loss 25 lbs. so far. Was doing really well on mushes, fish and chicken until constipation reared it's ugly head. Causing pains & mumbness in my left side and sensitive nerve endings. My doctor says it is common in some people and should get better soon with a laxative and warm compresses. I have been walking since the day after I got home and think that has really helped. Glad to hear everyone is doing so well, but we must remember that all of our bodies are different and we heal and lose at different rates.:wink:

I have been on low carb since 2 weeks pre-op. While I am totally sick of the shakes, I see the benefits. I think I will be able to start the mushy stuff tomorrow after my 1st post-op appt., but my dietician still wants me to do a shake a day and maintain the low carbs.

You will be fine. I had surgery on 7/22 and have similar issues which are to be expected. I was feeling great after surgery, but after taking the On-Q out, the gas and soreness started. You didn't make a mistake, it's all a process and every step takes time. Exercise is key. Even though I'm sore, I walk 20 minutes each morning and I think that is helping. Don't rush things. Take it easy and follow your surgeons instructions and you will be fine. Good luck!

Just received my approval letter 2 weeks after appealing being denied last summer. Scared, excited, nervous, hopeful, etc. Really don't know how to feel. Now that it is a reality, do I really want this life altering surgery? HELP!!!!:wink2:

:blink:I am so glad to have found you guys!!! I just got my approval letter and am feeling the same things. I started this journey a year ago and was denied by my insurance July 2008. I had several setbacks (Losing my younger brother in April and my Mom in July) which caused me to drop the the whole thing. Two weeks ago, I called my doctor's office and they filed an appeal ... Today I get an approval letter in the mail. I'm excited, scared, undecided, nervous , etc ... I know my life as I know it is about to change, but pray it is worth it.
