January 2015 Sleevers! ????????
My surgery is 1/12/15. I've been considering some type of surgical help for quite some time and finally decided that VSG is best for me. I started seriously considering it in July and made outreach to my physician who got me started on the right path in August. I got my approval on Wednesday last week and now I'm a nervous wreck trying to physically and mentally prepare for an invasive procedure. I'm looking forward to it though and look forward to getting much support and giving support to others. Best wishes on your surgery. Be sure to post how things turn out for you!

Surgery tomorrow, very scared.
I pray for a speedy recovery and best wishes to you. I'm going in next month and have three children and have been so nervous and a mixture of emotions. Try to relax and know you are doing this so you can be around for them. Positive thoughts and positive outcomes! Big Hugs!

Nervous and not sure what I should be doing to prepare
Thanks @wannaBthinsoon. I was thinking of buying the unflavored one because she said it could be added to oatmeal and other dishes without little interference of taste.

Nervous and not sure what I should be doing to prepare
So.....I got my approval for surgery after 3 days submission from my physician! Pretty awesome right?! Well now I'm getting nervous and excited all at the same time because this is becoming more "real" to me, and 1/12/15 will be here in no time. All of that nutritional counseling, and talks have went out the door because I am panicking! YIKES! What should I order to make sure my protein is in stock for after surgery? I've heard the Unjury is good and have some samples I'll be trying, but how much of it do I realistically need? I have to do a liquid diet for two weeks and was told I can use regular broth, and of course the unjury, but I'm worried I'll get tired of it quickly. Any other suggestions? I swear someone needs to make a bariatric sugery book from their experience with all kinds of recipies for the post surgery process! If there is one then please feel free to direct my attention to it. One can only drink so many shakes and we need to get in 75+ grams of protein! One last concern....the V word! VITAMINS, some folks say Flintstone vitamins twice a day are okay and satisfy your multivitamin need. Is this true? What kind of calcium vitamins should I try, what about B-12 vitamins or shots? Help this newbie out please!

January 12, 2015 - Making way for a new me!
@@shizwiz thanks. We both thought it would be beneficial to do it together, that we we aren't tempting each other and can truly support our new lifestyle. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but looking forward to us doing this together and becoming healthier for the next lifetime together! I'll make sure to give updates on this site for the both of us. You are right, you may be able to encourage your boyfriend with your changes and once he sees how "fly and fine" you are getting he may be motivated a little more!

January 12, 2015 - Making way for a new me!
I'm super excited and nervous right now. I'm trying my best to learn new eating habits before the time gets here, telling myself to slow down when eating, drinking slowly, making sure I'm exercising and all the good stuff that will be part of my life from here on out. My husband will be going after me in March, so we are looking forward to major changes for 2015. If anyone has already had their procedure and has useful advice, please feel free to dish! Best wishes to all the new sleevers!

January 2015 Sleevers!
I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but I too am starting off the year with changes! I'm scheduled for 1/12/15 and looking forward to surgery and recovery. I'm having my procedure in St Petersburg, FL. I won't start my two week liquid diet until 12/28, but I'm already changing up my eating habits to mentally prepare for all the changes I will be going through. I'm just hoping I can survive two weeks of it without my family wanting to kill me from being moody! YIKES! I hope we can all keep up with each other and encourage each other when it starts to get tough along the way! Shundra

I'm interested but not sure about Lap Band
Hello...I am new to this site and am extremely interested in making a change in my life regarding my weight. I know that I need to make changes and have tried diets, weight loss plans, excercise, etc and have not seen a permanent reduction in weight. I have high blood pressure and am sure that I'm pre-diabetic. I keep up with my physicials and have been advised I am overweight. I had a baby one year ago and this is the largest I have ever been weighing 255 lbs. Any suggestions or insprirations you can share will be apprecitated as I am at my wits end and want to do something about this. Shunny1
