  1. I have been having trouble with the prenatals the OB gave me. I seem to burp them up and they are so horrible! It makes me literally gag. Do you have a favorite prenatal that you used or know of one that is chewable and doesn't taste horrible? Thanks!
  2. is there anyone out there that is still located in or near Ktown?
  3. Hi,..I was banded August 14, 2009. I have had 3 fills with a whopping 3.0cc in my 11cc band. I have no restriction...I have lost around 30 pounds....and am very frustrated. I would like to hear your story...
  4. what do you do when your surgeon doesn't really want to do fills?I was banded in August 09...I have lost 30 pounds but I only have 3cc in my 14cc band. I have NO restriction. My band started out empty...fist fill 8 weeks after surgery. 1.5cc, next fill 6 more weeks....1/2c...3rd fill 12 weeks after that 1.0cc! He doesn't want to see me back for ANOTHER 12 weeks. I am eating less than I used to and trying to concentrate on proteins and A LOT less carbs...but if I had the willpower to do it myself, I would never have gotten the band. Help!

  6. I was banded in August...I have 3 cc's in a 14cc band. (no restriction yet) I got a fill a couple days ago and everything has been fine. Today, I was just sitting there and all of a sudden this weird, crampy almost painful feeling came over the left side of my stomach by my port. It was sort of like a muscle cramp or something...it felt like something was rolling. It went away and came back 2 more times within a minute or two. I have since eaten and everything seems fine but I am worried...has anyone ever experienced this? Any ideas what it might have been? TIA
  7. My surgery was August 14th. I am doing good. No episodes of any kind. I have an empty band. No fill at surgery and my surgeon wouldn't give me a fill post-op because I had lost 18 pounds in 4 weeks. I have not lost any more weight and my appt is not until Nov 9th. I have been walking and trying to add in some jogging. I have NO restriction and can eat anything. I can't wait for a fill. I just hope he will give me one at my next visit....
  8. I asked my doctor about carbonated drinks and he said if sugar free they were ok in moderation...I asked specifically if it would stretch the pouch and he emphatically said NO...he actually even giggled a little. I do have them and they don't bother me, although I almost always drink crystal lite or water, I do love to treat myself with a caffeine free diet mt dew!
  9. WOW JaffreyChick! that is SO great! I really wish I could get ONE fill! I think at least working in the direction of getting restriction would be encouraging...keep up the good work!
  10. I had surgery on August 14th. I have not had a fill and my band is empty. I haven't gained any weight...YET! I am HUNGRY and my doctor doesn't want to see me to even CONSIDER a fill until NOVEMBER! I am an emotional wreck too and am scared this too will fail. I am making good choices but as we all know, our willpower will only get us so far. Dieting doesn't work or I wouldn't have ended up with WLS! I am discouraged too. I did lose 18 pounds during the first month but have failed to lose any more weight.
  11. just wanted to touch base with anyone who used the same surgeon as I did.... TIA
  12. i take the centrum chewables...orange flavored, taste like a flintstone vitamin (not too bad) I have tried the bariatric advantage ones and they are ok too...you can go online to their site and order some sample packs. not free, but if you just wanna try before buying and spending a lot of money, its not a bad way. Also Viactiv mult-vitamins and calcium come in chocolate, chocolate-cherry and caramel for the calcium. taste like candy but does have some calories
  13. My surgery was August 14th and I have lost 18 pounds since surgery. I was happy with that but haven't lost any more. My doctor is also adamant about not doing fills for 8 weeks and won't give you one if you are losing weight. I am HUNGRY and can eat like normal.(my band is empty) I am just being ultra careful to make healthy choices. I was very disappointed too but you lost a lot for 1 month...keep your head up and try to stay positive!
  14. Unfortunately, I live in Germany. My insurance is Tricare but there is only my surgeon and one other doctor that is covered by Tricare. I really hope that he gives at some point. I am scared of failing at this too. He said the indication for needing a fill is "not losing weight". SO with an 18 pd loss, that does indicate the need. I tried explaining how hungry I am, how much I can eat, etc. but he just said you have to fix your head and not the band. SO, I guess I am stuck for now. Maybe I can convince him next visit but if I continue to work hard and lose weight, he probably wont...
  15. I am feeling the same way. I am a little more than a month post op. I went to my surgeon today hoping to get a fill because I am SO hungry and I can eat a lot more than I thought. (a LOT more) and he won't give me one. I have lost 18 pounds since surgery and my band is EMPTY! (I have a 7.5cc one) I am choosing wisely and trying to control portions but this feels like a regular diet that I know I can do for a while but I don't know how long my willpower will hold out. I go back in EIGHT weeks!
