  1. Wow. Have you asked your Dr. point blank if you have a leak? I am sorry if I missed some of this story. Two weeks is a long time. I can't imagine what you are going through.
  2. Thats great! As so many told me don't worry about your Protein so much the first several weeks. Concentrate on staying hydrated.
  3. My doctor considers Protein Shakes made with at least 50% more water clears.
  4. I feel much better about the tooth being taken care of before surgery! This is all so exciting. Things have really come together. If you get a surgery date before you leave be sure to put it on the calendar. I can't say that I fully understand your position about the fear of surgery because your risks were so much higher than mine. I did think about it though. I thought about it enough I updated my will. I did come to peace the night before though. That is the only thing I could tell you. Do you have a lap top? Do you know if you will have any net? If not we will have to go so long without an update because of all your stops. The way you feel on liquids prior to surgery will be different than the way you will feel on it after surgery I promise. I still have not felt real hunger. When my stomach feels "empty" like something going in would bounce off the bottom is how I know I am hungery. Do you live alone? The reason I ask is my hardest thing has been my family eating around me. If you live alone I would tell people to stay away with food. If they show up with it tell them to beat it. If I am not around people eating I don't feel left out and do fine.
  5. Oh sorry! I must have been thinking about before your incredible loss. I think it is easy to lose sight of how much you have loss. I weighed as much as you lost at 15. Motivation is hard. If we were all perfectly motivated people to excersise we would not need surgery.
  6. You are SOOOO lucky (as far as your diet, not your leg). I am clears. Jello, broth, thinned shakes, gatorade, propel, SF popcicles and...... that is it. What I wouldn't give for anything made with veggies.
  7. Umm wow. I am in awe that you don't have a treatment plan from the doctor. Did they not explain how they planned on treating the clot? Did you get anything to disolve it?
  8. It's funny I am ok in the morning but I have spent several nights in tears because no matter how hard my family tries to eat on the sly I can still smell it. I don't want them to live differently because of a decision I made of my own free will so I just leave the room when they eat. I am not hungry but I am wanting some variety. This is getting so old that for a few days I didn't drink anything but Water and gatorade. Then I had to put my big girl panties on and force myself back on shakes. People always ask "How can you live on so few calories" I am like "dunno, I am not hungry or lightheaded so I must be fine. I only get about 400 a day". Besides did they not notice I have plenty of "reserves" :biggrin2:
  9. Don't ever be embarrased to ask here! Click "Calendar" on the menu bar at the top. You will see a "Add new Event" box towards the bottom right, click "single all day event" Put mnb's Surgery or mnb's VSG or whatever you want to put in the title. This what will show up on the calendar so make it kinda short so people can easily see. Choose your event date. Important, I think it defaults to today's date. Click "Save Event" at the bottom. Thats it!
  10. Just in my exp I don't know that I could have swolled any amount of morphine the first 24 hours. I was not allowed to swallow anything but my own spit the first 24 hours. I used the swabbies to keep my mouth moist but was careful not to swallow. After 24 hours I was allowed to drink some Water. I could only drink about 1/8 an ounce to 1/4 an ounce. Yes that is right, an ounce. So if the liquid morphine dose is 15 mL as an example you are going to be drinking it slow. Will it be able to get on top of your pain as fast? I don't know. I would be worried about it. But again that is just me. Oh also I was onl liquid loritab after the morphine pump was taken away and it hit my stomach like a freight train, I could feel it going down and spreading around my stomach, not really painful but ........concerning is the word. I had to drink a little water, then loritab, then water, then loritab. The first 3 days it took 30-40 mins just to get my pain meds drank. I don't know how hard liquid morphine is on the stomach. Again maybe just me.
  11. I can stand the Isopure Artic Punch but that is the only flavor. I found a new shake my stomach likes so I can drink that. I am on clears until the 17th so my stomach and brain have just about had enough of jello, broth, and shakes. It was getting to the point all my shakes would make me nauseous just looking at them. My water intake is doing better. What I wouldn't give for some strained cream soup right now. It must taste like heaven.
  12. The burning instead of eating less is a good idea. I know you have some mobility issues. How about lifting cans of food while sitting on the couch. Arm lifts and curls. Start with that. Maybe each commercial break take a lap around the house without fail.
  13. Oh my. I stayed 2 nights and three days. Was supposed to be 3 nights and 4 days but I begged out early. I was ready to go home. I honestly can not even imagine going home the same day and I didn't even have my gallbladder removed. I had my husband with me and still needed the hospital staff and doctors doing their rounds the first 24 hours. I needed my urine output monitored. I needed a morphine pump the first 24 hours. You are not going to get that at home. I feel you need a second opinion. Being self pay it is tough decision. Just to take out an organ cus you are there does not seem like a good enough reason to me.
  14. Wow you got a double gift! Welcome to the forum. Can't wait to hear updates.
  15. Welcome! What a twist of fate. Don't forget to put your surgery date on the calendar up top so everyone knows to think about you that day.
  16. Welcome to the silent reader! The only Isopure I can drink is Artic Punch. The rest is just bad news. 29 days and 38 lbs WOW. Congrats!
  17. Sleeve sista!!! Oh no. That is awful. I am so sorry you are going through this. Did they tell you where the clot is? Were you having symptoms of low potassium? Most important did you get a room with a view?
  18. Welcome! I think you will find everyone on this board to be great.
  19. Thanks so much guys. You all have given me so many ideas to try and get more in. Being on clears limits my options so much. On the positive note I did so much better today with fluids. It is amazing how you do better and better each day. You guys are great. Hugggggggs for all.
  20. I should get honest about my Protein intake. It is no good. I am 12 days out and lucky if I can gag down 30 grams. I just can't take in protein and drink all this Fluid. Fifteen grams of protein fills me up for hours (half my average shake). So then I drink more when I can and I am filled up again. Of course while all this protein BS is going on I am not drinking Water. Just messing around with trying to get 70 grams is taking up my whole day. I am still struggling with hydration. I am putting out about 30 cc to 40 cc an hour which is good but I wake up shakey and my mouth is dry. My husband curled up to me this morning and was like "What is wrong you are shaking" And I said I am just this way in the morning if I try to focus on protein and miss water. I am in a vicious cycle. My calves are also cramping. I already got checked for blood clots. I have none. I am not liking life right now. Still no regrets. How long can I go with not enough protein? Mac? Help.
  21. I have had one so far. I am not wearing womens size clothes anymore. They are too uhhh wide. I am back to regular sizes, no more "W" after the size. I have an iTouch. I love it. Best thing I ever bought. I highly recomend getting the wi sniffer. It is how I find all the open hotspots.
  22. Umm I see. If he can't be honest with something as basic as smoking he wil lie like a dog with everything else. I met my husband through my ex husband's work....... but that is another thread.
  23. Make sure you are getting at least 500mg of sodium a day. It sounds like you are no problem but that is the minimum your body needs to complete certain osmotic functions.
