  1. I feel the same way, sweets are my down fall and have prevented me from dropping any serious weight. Any suggestions anyone might have would be great. thanks Kitten
  2. Hello, I see that you have had a tremendous amount of success with the lap band and was wondering if you might have any words of wisdom for me? I was banded back in April and have only lost 9 lbs since that time. I lost the 9 lbs following the first few weeks following surgery. The next few months were a series of fills which were too low, too tight and now, I think correct. The issue I have is that I can still eat junk and while I try to stay away from it I am still snacking. If you don't mind sharing, I was wondering what your diet was like. I am really getting down and have been kicking myself for not having had gastric bypass surgery. Any help you might be able to provide would be appreciated Kitten123
  3. I just had my first fill 4 days ago and the doctor gave me 6.3 cc. My doctor does his fills in the hospital and uses barium to make sure he fills to the max possible but without causing discomfort. The long and short of it, so he tells me, is that everyone is different. Best of luck to you and your mother.
  4. Cant- best of luck with your upcoming surgery. The date will come and go so quickly you'll not believe it. Keep the group posted, I'm sur you'll to great.

  5. I've not been on line for a while, hope things continue to go well, when you have time drop me a line.

  6. Baby,

I've not been on line for a long time but the long and short of it is that I am just going to get my first fill this upcoming Wednesday! I had to wait 90 days post op due to insurance restrictions. I've only lost 10 lb because I have felt no restriction what so ever for the past 2 months. At any rate, I'm so looking forward to the first fill and finally dropping some weight.

How did you make out with your surgery? Hope you are feeling well, drop me a line when you can.

  7. I am finally getting my first fill (90 days post op!!!) the delay was due to insurance restrictions. I've only lost 10 lb because I only felt restriction for the first 30 days and I 've been trying not to gain any of the 10 I've lost back but it's hard because I don't feel any restriction. When I have my fill will I have any in put as to the amount of the fill or do most of you find that the doctors do what they deem best?
  8. Hello, I was banded this past Tuesday and while I'm feeling generally ok I did develop some lower back pain today. Did any of you experience this? If so do I need to see my doctor?

Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1

Hello all, I was banded this past Tuesday and feel fairly good. I have been walking and sipping, I start with milk and smooth soups in the a.m. hoping I don't encounter any problems. How long was it before most of you returned to your regular activities?
  10. Tina, You're story is a great inspiration. It looks like you have a lot of people asking for your help, if you can find the time to help one more person it would be appreciated. I am going to be banded this Tuesday and am feeling a little nervous and to be perfectly honest, feeling a little like a failure. I lost a great deal of weight 9 years ago and while I managed to keep it off for 6 years, the past three years saw it all come back on. I am as heavy as I have ever been and cannot believe I'm back in this place. At any rate, I'm looking at the banding as a tool and a way to get my life back. Thanks for posting your story, I look forward to speaking with you in the future. Raenee

    What Are You Scared Of?

Not silly at all, my friend had the same concern and this is what I told her.. men, in general, are pigs (I mean this in the nicest way possible), they would not care if we had 4 legs, 2 heads and six arms,so don't stress about a small port, they will not even notice. Besides, even if they did there are a lot of kinky people out there, I'm sure there will be some port nuts soon enough :welldoneclap:
  12. Hello, I am scheduled to have my lap band surgery this upcoming Tuesday and am feeling a bit anxious. I was wondering if anyone could give me any words of wisdom about what to expect after the surgery, particulary the first few weeks when diet seems to be very limited. I would like to drop 75 lbs. but my doctor tells me 50 is more realistic, can anyone comment on this? It's always been my feeling that dieting, like anything else in life, gives you what you put into it. If all guidelines are followed I'm assuming greater weight loss is possible, for those of you living with the band, any feedback would be most appreciated. Thanks! Raenee
  13. I'll do that, thank you- I'm new to this site and am still learning how to navigate a bit! Thanks for the words of encouragement. Raenee
  14. Danielle, I'm from NJ as well and will have my surgery this Tuesday. By any chance was your surgeon Dr. Bertha? Do you plan on attending any of the support groups offered? Hope you continue to recover. Raenee
  15. Hi Christine, My surgery date is the day after yours, hope all goes well for you. Let me know how you make out. Raenee
