  1. I haven't been on in a long while, mainly because i am so disappointed in myself ONCE AGAIN!! I weighed 290 morning of surgery 6/29/09 and did really good till the last 4 weeks and I'm stuck at 276!!!! ..... and yes, yet again I feel that I am manipulating myself. I'm so mad at myself for not following all the rules and sticking with it...... i guess everytime I heard them say, "It's a tool, NOT wonder fix" I thought maybe it would be a wonder fix in some sick way??????? Mind working on me AGAIN!! I go for my FIRST FILL this Friday 14th and actually feel I should have had one like 4 weeks ago, because I am ALWAYS STARVING!!! I sure hope & pray once I get this fill that it will get me back to being motivated. I also know that starting back to school on the 19th will REALLY help me, cause being off and at home is a huge part of the problem. I need some major encouragement................thanks for getting me back on the chat!!!
  2. I'm a lefty......5 inches to left of BB.
  3. WHOOP WHOOP Everyone..... i just did the EA SportActive with the WII...... OMG i can honestly say it was fun!!! I sent the boys to WalMart & they set it up awhile ago & i have to say for this 49yr old couch tator..... i actually broke a sweat & burned 178 calories in 16 minutes!! YEAH!!! I have not worked out or done any form of exercise in 3 or 4 years, except for my walking this past week and I think i've found my FAV THING! Was not able to do the knee bends, legs crunches, & lunges, cause my knees KILL ME all the time (i would to carrying around 300+ lbs) so i just skipped those and it was ok....yes it was! WELL WORTH the MONEY!!!!!
  4. I hear ya iwannabhappy!! Not to mention that EVERY OTHER TV commercial is about food!!!!!!! ARGGGGGGG!!! No wonder Amercia is SO overweight! What i'm finding hard is the lifestyle that we had for the last 7 or so years during the summer when I'm off with the boys (hubby only home 2days a wk : )) is VERY hard now that i have had surgery. Our home has always been (since MiddleSchool) the free restuarant (I've always cook'd lots of extras), free motel & the free pit stop!!! I have ALWAYS been a night owl, and ESPECIALLY during the summer months that I am off. The kids all know this and come in from dates or whatever & stop by on their way home or stay here instead of going home & it is nothing for us to stick a movie in no matter 1am or 2am. This is continuing, but it is so much harder for me now, because they are all coming in with Whutaburger taquitos or etc....... and it is absolutely kill'n me!!! i have found myself spending a lot more time in my bedroom and on the computer..... Thankfully able to whine to you guys!! : ) I know that the middle of Aug when they all head off to college, it will be so much different, but till then...... YIKES!!! Right now as I type this, there are 9 boys (only 1 mine) on my patio, starting to grill fajaitas! I do not want to discourage them because our home has always had an open door policy, but i will say it is going to be a tough month & half!
  5. amserz, what is geek yogart? We don't have Trader Joes down here in Texas that I know of....... is there a website or something I can google? Also i too, feel alot like I need to burp and then nothing....it is kinda frustrating!
  6. Hey iwannabehappy...... i have to admit i cheated on FrenchVanilla Pudding my son had in the refrig.....OMG it WAS SO GOOD!!! Today is 1 wk for me & i get to have mashed pot & cooked veggies, so i'm REALLY looking forward to that in a bit. I will say it again...... the sugar-free popcicles are REALLY good when you just have to have something & want to chew (well at least for me they have been). Keep them handy & next time you feel the need to raid, just go ahead & let yourself but have a popcicle. They really do help! As far as burping...... yes, I have been also!! I feel like I should be in a football locker room, cause they are crazy ones (seem to last a full minute & half). I too, get pain in left shoulder once or twice a day, but it seems to just go away on it's own. Good luck tomorrow & stop beating yourself up & go eat a nice, cold, crunchy, sweet, but sugar-free succulent grape popcicle!! : )
  7. Bless your heart!!! I mean really.....this is tough enough to go through normally and then to add all of that! WOW You ARE A TROOPER!!! Hopefully your meds will take care of it and you continue on this journey as normal. Good luck and keep us informed on how your doing. : )
  8. QUESTION....... why no Whey protein???? I have a huge jug of it, that I was told by my doctors patient liason it is fine to use, so THAT IS WHAT i have been making all of my protein shakes with for the last 3/4 weeks, also adding it to just about everything else! YIKES!! What is wrong with it?
  9. AMSERZ..... i too have the same feelings, so PLEASE don't get discouraged & think you're the only 1. I have actually been STARVING since Thursday!!!! I have found that drinking the protein shake 3 times is helping but not all the way. To satisfy my need OR MENTAL need to chew, I am eating the heck out of SF popcycles!!! They do help. Right now as we speak, both boys (19&18) came in from church with cheeseburgers&ff..... so i am confined to my bedroom until they are finished & i even make them spray OUST to remove the lingering smells. Partly because I was getting nauseated sp? from the different food smells AND because it is killing me to smell it.... OK I SAID IT!!!!!! This is a journey that we all made a decision to be on and we just need to stick it out through this tough/hard time. PLEASE don't give up yet! Everyone says being thin feels so much better than a cheeseburger tastes!!!! So i'm trying to keep telling my self this and because both of my sons are leaving/moving out at the same time in August to go to Texas A&M WHOOP AGGIES!!! and i want to do this for them also......
  10. I've never heard of the pain management ball????? He had to pull it out of where?? haha Wow!
  11. I was told not to swallow my morning pills except for the 2 hard small ones, but the capsules (take 2diff) i have to open & mix w/something and take that way. I was told that the outer coating (sticky) capsule has a tendency to get stuck (which makes sense to me), therefore I am not gonna chance it. I assumed the coating on the Phayzme95 would do the same thing, so I am not gonna chance it either!! Just me a big chicken!
  12. oh & i HIGHLY recommend the Phayzme95 over GasX strips.... Today i had 1 at 7:30am and can tell it's time for another. I just use a pin & stick it in the end & squeeze in to a spoon. Also, I have 4 incisions, 3 up high under breasts & 4th (Port) on the left side. The only one that bothers me is the Port incision. My BIG QUESTION is......... i have not had a BM yet!????!!! Starting to get worried about that too!!! How about everyone else? Sorry for asking, but it is starting to bother me!
  13. OK today was not a good day.....i think i did WAY to much! I have been making myself go outside & walk around the pool about 4 or 5 times, just to give me a change from walking around the house. I then sat down on the top step, not getting my bandages wet & kicked around a little while my husband got in & cooled off. I then came in, took my 2nd shower & before hand decided to take my original bandages off, because they were irritating me & making me red along the edges. Took my shower and............WOW I ALMOST passed out! Honestly got cold sweats, shaking, nausea & almost fell!!! Luckily my husband came in & I had to lay down for 2 hours. Feeling much better now! I am supposed to take 15ml of hydrocodone for pain every 4-6hrs, but have only been taking it twice a day & only taking 10ml. My follow up appt is on the 16th as well, but i do have the option of calling my patient liason girl, whose has been so much help throughout the last 2 yrs. She has me even call her cell if i need to! I am on liquids until this Monday & then i can add mashed potatos, cream of wheat, pureed foods, LFsoups & well cooked vegetables. Looking forward to Monday! : )
  14. hey everyone... i was banded this Monday as well, in sugarland, tx (Houston) and also had hiatal hernia & small abdomenal hernia repaired. Years ago, had several laprosopy surgeries done & Dr. recommended Phayzme95, so I had it ready & waiting for me. My LB doctor recommended GasX strips instead, so i tried them. Wasn't getting much relief & switched to the Phazyme95 (stuck a pin & squeezed it into a spoon) and WOW what a difference & only 2 per day! I'm feeling pretty good too, walking around the house all day & once or twice a day outside. My doctor recommends 64 oz of liquid per day!!!! Today though I can actually feel as if i'm starving & actually feel & hear my stomach growling & turning inside just like when I used to try to "starve myself" so i am bummed about feeling this way.... right now I am actually STARVING!!!!! Going to go drink some ff/lf milk & take my pain med & hit the bed. Can't wait to talk with ya'll more...... Goodnite!
  15. Years ago I had several laproscopy surgeries and my Dr. recommended Phayzme 95, so after my LB this past Monday 29th, I had it here and waiting on me, but this time the surgeon recommended GasX strips that dissolve, so..... i tried them. YUCK! Didn't do much AND taste awful & leave a horrible taste in your mouth. Tuesday morning I got out the Phayzme95 pocked a whole in the geltab & swallowed it. Let me tell you, THAT WAS RELIEF!!!!! BIG difference! I totally recommend it over the 4 GasXstrips every so many hours as apposed to 1 Phayzyme 95 twice a day.
  16. It's been a VERY LONG 3 years back and forth with insurance, but finally it's almost here. I'm nervous, yet anxious and all sorts of other feelings. Actually think i'm ready??? Ready or not, here it comes!
  17. thanks everyone for the posts..... i too, have been thinking about purchasing one. Surgery date is June 29th....... better get off the fence and buy one!haha
  18. I have not yet gotten a date but was told sometime in April as well. I am feeling the same exact way!!! I have always been one of those people that weird things happen to REALLY ALL THE TIME! My family & friends make fun of me because of it..... if it's gonna happen... it'll happen to me. Therefore, I am really nervous about having a foreign OBJECT in my body and hope it goes ok, cause i sure need a change in my life.... serious change!
  19. I just got call from my doctors office & maybe having surgery that week also. Was told to drink lots of water and take in LOTS of protein! BUT not much else, what were you told if you don't mind me asking....... Texas Mom with two soon to be Aggies!!! WHOOP! mj
