  1. you look so different...congratulations
  2. I had to follow my post-op diet. I just started on real food yesterday. I had to wait 30 days post surgery to start real food. I can barely eat though. I'm at 175 lbs this morning, that's 23 lbs in one month. I have only exercised once this week (walked on the treadmill for 30 mins). I plan to exercise more starting from next week since I'm gonna be eating real food now.
  3. I went from Texas and paid $700+. I bought my ticket 5 days before my trip.
  4. The same thing happened to me. I had surgery in Mexico on the 14th. I had trouble sleeping from the day after the surgery up until two nights ago. Last night was my first night sleeping through the night. I was so concerned I even asked around here. I think it has something to do with the medications and the changes our bodies went through. It will get better.
  5. I had surgery on the 14th and my drain came out two days later. It closed already and doesn't bother me. I do think that doctors shouldn't let people go home with drains. it's uncomfortable.
  6. You are allowed to eat all of that in the first week ? I had revision on the 14th as well and has been on clear liquid alone. my doctor said clear liquid for 14 days. I have lost 8 lbs since monday as I gained alot of weight from the IV fluid after surgery. I was 198 lbs the morning of the surgery and was still 198 lbs by monday morning. I'm sure the weight will come out just be patient.
  7. I had surgery the same day too and was so swollen from the IV. the first 24 hrs after I woke up from surgery, I was peeing like every 10 mins. I didn't get back to my pre surgery weight until monday morning and have lost additional 4 lbs since. it takes time be patient.
  8. Hey Susan...I added you on facebook I revised from Lap band to sleeve on the 14th and I'm having a hard time sleeping. I haven't slept since I woke up from surgery. anyone else having the same problem ?
  9. I'm doing great just hungry and tired.
  10. Yes...your blond hair gave you away haha!!!. you are very tall too. Yes, I am one of the ladies who talked to you guys when you were leaving. I enjoyed the chicken Soup too
  11. Blondeej, did you leave Mexicali on thursday? were you among the 4 ladies waiting for the driver to drop you off at the airport..just wondering.
  12. I just gat back from Mexicali yesterday and I paid 10,500 for lap band to sleeve revision. Dr Aceves is amazing. I can't say enough good things about those people.
  13. I was already looking forward to having a companion in Mexicali. Did you move up your surgery date ? Sorry to hear that you couldn't get sleeve now. I feel better after reading your post. Thanks for all the info.
  14. I'm scheduled for June 14th as well but my husband is worried about me going to Mexico for surgery. I'm also having a revision surgery (lap band to VSG). Does anyone know how far is the drive from the border to the hospital ? I don't mean from the airport. my husband doesn't feel comfortable if majority of the drive to hospital will be inside Mexico as opposed to the US.
  15. I had surgery May 2009 and I've gone from 250 lbs to 157 lbs. My goal is 150 lbs but I feel like I don't like my face anymore. Still have some fat around the mid section I'm working on but my face is making it hard for me to keep losing weight. Everyone says I look sick and I can see it from my recent pics. any suggestions ?
  16. I am 10 months post-op and 90 lbs down and I'm in love with my band. there was a point I didn't like it that much because I felt it wasn't doing what it was supposed to do. I lost the first 50 lbs within 6 months without much restriction. I struggled and was frustrated, but I kept working hard on my own. I have averaged 10 lbs lost / months since I got good restriction and I'm loving my band for it.
  17. mine have gone on vacation too. They weren't even that big to start with (was a C cup before surgery) and they are worst now. Lucky I have the backside to compensate for them
  18. Stop beating yourself up over nothing. Everyone struggles and cheats on this journey. The key is to always get back up. You won't be able to cheat even if you tried once you get restriction. I struggled with head hunger my first 6 months until I got restriction and I couldn't even cheat anymore because the food won't go down.
  19. I've had 8 fills since my surgery last May. I didn't have any restriction till late Nov so I kept bugging my doctor for fills. my last fill was in Jan and I have good restriction now. the funny thing is that I don't even know how many cc I have in my 10 cc band because my doctor flatly told me that he doesn't keep records of ccs.
  20. I am 15 lbs away from my goal weight ( lost 85 lbs) and I plan to get me a YSL tribtoo pump...woo hoo!!! been dreaming of those since I started this journey
  21. Don't be too hard on yourself. 12 lbs in a months is not a failure. Everyone doesn't lose weight at the same rate. Find out what works for you and stick with it. Good luck
  22. my doctor said the same thing and that's why he doesn't keep record on how many cc he gives you. he says he gives fill based on individual responds and haven't had anyone max out yet
  23. Sounds like we have the same doctor. I don't even know how many cc have in right now because mine doesn't keep record. he flat out told me that he doesn't believe that any doctor is accurate on how many cc any patients has in their band and so to him, that doesn't matter. what matters according to him is how the patient feels after each fill. I have a 10 cc band and almost 6 months post surgery, had about 6 or 7 fills (I lost count..lol) and barely have any restriction.
  24. Coco puffs cereal...OMG !!! I don't even buy it any more and my kids love it to death. It is a slider food and I can eat two bowls at one sitting. it sets me back a lot, I had to stop buying it.
