  1. I was filled last Tuesday and wow, talk about restriction. I've been able to eat chili, steak soup, salad, etc. I can not eat potatoes that are mashed. Anyone else have issues with potatoes?
  2. My husband and my mother in law are the only 2 people that know. I mentioned the idea of the band and too many people thought it was an easy way out. Sorry but there is little that is easy about the band. I work my butt off to lose weight and I refuse to be judged!
  3. for you hot chocolate lovers, try Carnation instant breakfast, it even has protein in it!
  4. The only bread I can eat is the Tastefully simple beer bread, and hard crackers. Every other bread is really painful
  5. You can have balls put on the inside of you ring. It is really for people that have arthritis but it works great for arthritis as well.
  6. I had a port that faced upward and had it restitched to my muscle with mesh so it wouldn't come undone again.
  7. Any suggestions where to get a cute suit? We leave for Florida for 2 weeks in about 5 weeks. Do I buy a suit at the size I wear now? A size smaller? Any suggestions on where to get one? I am about 198# and I am 5' 6"
  8. I assume it is ok, but wondered if flu shots and the H1N1 vaccine were ok with the band? I figured it was, but just wondered?
  9. I have an ob/gyn appointmnet in a few weeks but wondered if anyone else was encountering odd cycles? Mine seem longer and heavier, with more spotting. Anyone else bring this up to their doctor?
  10. I had a revision as my port came unhooked on one side and was laying on its side. I had surgery again and it was a much easier recovery(they didn't even unfill me). I will say that they attached my port to a grid type mesh and then stitched that down to my muscle, not sure why they don't do that as regular protocol. Also I am insured but since they felt that this was their mistake, the whole 2nd surgery was done at no cost to my insurance company.
  11. I asked about this as mine was scheduled for that time. They give you a pad with a mesh pair of undies. Thankfully I never needed them.
  12. I use the premire brand too and love it. It has 10 more grams than the Muscle Milk light and one less gram of sugar.
  13. My port came unhooked so they had to go back in and reattach. I am back to limited exercise because they want to make sure I am completely healed. Eating decently. Usually Cream of wheat, Yogert, or a Protein shake for Breakfast. lunch I do salad, or Soup. dinner is usually chicken, or deli rollups(cheese and ham rolled up). This is an appointment that was made before my surgery, wondering what is causing my stall and if I should go or if I should cancel.
  14. I was banded at the beginning of May. Things were going great and I was losing well until I had a revision at the end of July. Luckily they didn't take any of my fill out, but I have basically been the same weight since. I go in for a fill next week and I have no idea if I should get one. I still have quite a bit of restriction when I eat. I am still on limited exersise. Anyone been here before?
  15. it only took me a few days to go back to stomach sleeping
  16. I am 2 pounds away from onederland. I can't wait! Congrats!
  17. I had 4 fills and think I may be at my sweet spot or really close. I had a port revision a week ago and begged that they not unfill me. Thankfully they were able to comply.
  18. I am insured and was shocked at how smooth it went. I went in April for my informational meeting and had none of what you mentioned, then had my surgery in May
  19. keep us posted. Hope it isn't serious!
  20. Best thing I ever did for myself!
  21. I use the benifiber mix that you put in water(citrus is really good) and it helps!
  22. I have been doing amazing but at my last fill we noticed that part of my Realize port has come unhooked. We could have gotten around it but since my insurance is taking care of everything they just want to get it over. I go in Tuesday for it to be fixed but I do have some questions: Downtime, any ideas if it will be just like the banding? The nurse mentioned it would be a lot more painful than when I was banded? Will I need an unfill(I asked the nurse and she didn't know) Exersise, will I have to wait again? Any tips? Thanks!
