  1. That's super fab, John! Tell me, since you already had good restriction with your second fill, why do they do a third fill? My doc said if I had good restriction and continued weight loss, he wouldn't do a fill again until my hunger gets to be a problem and my weight loss slows down. I guess I don't know what you mean about keeping up with the shrinking stomach. (And we all know how different doctors are! :bored:) Cheers!

Lili! So glad to see you on here again and hear about your travels. Sounds like a heavenly time! I envy you and Lisa! Congrats on maintaining your weight on such a fun vacation. Good luck on your next fill. The weight will be falling off you in no time. Cheers!
  3. Thanks, vonhelzing, for understanding what I mean! Today at lunch, I was only able to eat 1/4 cup of lentil soup. Sorta takes the joy out of eating sometimes! Yes, I'm thrilled that I have restriction and I'm eating less, and I'm ecstatic that I am losing weight!!!! Just sometimes want a little bit more than 1/4 cup of protein. Just being honest.
  4. No problems here! I've been eating peanuts and almonds since 4 weeks out. Just chew, chew, chew, like you would with anything else. Enjoy! :smile2:
  5. Hmmm.... let's see... 40+ years of food issues... get over them in the two and a half months before surgery.... hmm.... Nope! don't think so!
  6. Ugh! Sometimes I get so fed up with the tiny amounts I can eat. I just had lunch and really wanted more to eat, but I was so full, I couldn't. It made me sorta angry. I wanted more variety! Anyone else feel this way? I didn't eat more, but I really wanted some Jello or applesauce or fruit or something else. Yet I knew that although that might be small and healthy, I was full already. I used to think that being able to eat just a tiny amount would be way cool, but now I'm sorta bummed. I really don't get past the Protein and a tiny bit of veg/fruit most times. Just another mind hurdle to get over, I guess... *sigh*
  7. Kellster, you're doing fabulous! It's great to see you on here again! It's easy to get down and depressed during Bandster Hell. Come on here and we'll cheer you on! We're all going through the same things. Once you get a bit more restriction, things will start moving again. And, sometimes you just have to PUSH yourself, no matter how much you hate it. I had to do that yesterday with exercise. I hadn't walked in days, and yesterday was a beautiful sunny day (rare here on the East coast lately), but I had no desire to walk and I was exhausted. But I pushed myself to get out there because I figured I'd never get down to the size I wanted without doing some sort of exercise now. It sucked. I won't lie. ha! But, the whole time, I kept visualizing what size I wanted to be. That helped a little bit. Hang in there, Kellster, you can do this!
  8. Carrie, way to go!! Bmaz, I sent you a private message regarding the tickers.
  9. Thanks for the link, singin! I take a lot of Vitamins for my fibromyalgia, so I will definitely check that out! Less of me, my surgeon said I could start taking vitamins right away, but then again, each doc is different!
  10. Congratulations, everyone!!! Bmaz, if you are using TickerFactory, you need to plug in your PIN then click on Update Weight (the blue button right under the PIN box). That should help you change your weight. HTH! And don't worry, you're just in Bandster Hell. I also could eat any amount of anything. Now I'm losing again. Work in Progess, the WLS can really mess with TOM. It did for me and many others. It has to do with the release of hormones stored in our fat, I'm told.
  11. Ok, have to ask... why does your tattoo freak him out? What is it?
  12. Oh, Jennifer, thanks for reminding me! He did say to make sure you're getting your vitamins, also. We all started discussing the different types of chewables on the market, and someone said that Centrum makes orange chewables that are supposed to be better than the Flintstone chewables. I also saw that there are liquid vitamins available and even powdered vitamins that you can mix in your drink. HTH!
  13. Sarah, you must post before & after pix of your hair!! It's enlivening to do something drastic and fun like that. I've gone through a few phases in my life where I've chopped off my hair and loved it. I'm in that phase right now (well, have been for the past 3 years). heehee Have fun!
  14. Don't worry, Sarah. You're just experiencing Bandster Hell, which will soon pass. We all go through it! I was just there, believe me, it sux. What did the doctor say about the water pill?
  15. Way to go, Maclynn! You are definitely well into Onederland! I'm jealous -- haven't been there in oh.... can't remember!!!! I had my 1st fill last Thursday, as of this morning, I have lost 5 lbs. I'm a bit in shock. But hey, I'm thrilled!
  16. Ok, so the scoop from my surgeon is: everyone who undergoes surgery will feel less energetic for several weeks after the surgery. He said it typically takes up to 6 weeks to regain your normal energy level, but it all depends a lot on your health, so if you have a lot of comorbidities, like I do, it may take longer. However, he said that it was key to make sure you were getting at least 60 g. of Protein a day and that increasing your exercise will help increase your energy. I hope that helps!
  17. Just like a high-schooler, I have written a reminder on my hand so I don't forget to ask tonight! Ya know, I'm so exhausted, my brain just doesn't seem to function right lately, either. Feels like I felt when I was preggo -- tired and preggo brain! And, NO, I'm not pregnant. I'll be sure to fill you in with the doc's answer tomorrow.
  18. My date: May 7, 2009 Weight loss since: 24 lbs
  19. OMG, I am feeling the same exact way, and it's been almost a month and a half for me. Today has been really awful. I've been yawning in meetings, my eyes drooping. I gave up sugar and caffeine, also, so I have nothing to turn to for a quick pick-me-up during the day. Sometimes I go out for a quick walk, but lately it's been raining every day. I'm going to my LB support group tonight, and I will ask my surgeon about this. **yawn**
  20. That's awesome, John! I really want a meatball now. lol I'm still struggling with the Clean Plate Club issue and listening to my body to determine if I'm full or not. Keep up the good work!
  21. Coworkers who have no idea I've been dieting (let alone been banded) have been complimenting me on losing weight and looking good! That makes me feel awesome. Also, men are starting to look at me, say hi, give me the eye, etc. One even tipped his hat and gave me the eye. lol Funny thing is, I've been this weight before and didn't get that. I really think it's because this time I'm smiling so much more. I just feel great about myself and how I'm changing my life. So, I guess confidence really does make a difference. Must show in my face. :sneaky:
  22. Let me tell ya, Linda. I have all of the above (or below as the case might be :sneaky:). It is embarrassing. And I no longer have a private office since we moved to the "fancy, new building" which is a cube farm. So you can imagine how embarrassed I feel when something slips out (usually a burp), but sometimes I have to hurry to the ladies' room because I feel a lot of gas on its way down, down, down.... And then it's embarrassing if there are a bunch of coworkers in the bathroom, too! I've been taking chewable gas tablets the last week or two, and that has been helping. The recommended two tablets don't work for me, though. I have to take three! LOL Hang in there. I've heard it gets better. There is a woman in my LB support group who complained about the same thing going on for the first three months. Then it disappeared. There is an end in sight. And there is an upside to this: At least I make my 4-year-old son laugh a lot more now.:crying:
  23. Yes, that's what I understood -- and had experienced -- too! I believe it was two things: 1. I took too big of a bite and didn't chew well enough; and 2. I'm still adjusting to this new restriction. I *hope* I learned my lesson on chewing well and don't rush off and -- ha -- bite off more than I can chew some day!
  24. Thanks so much! It sounds wonderful! :blushing:
  25. I have a real addiction to sugar, so before I started this journey I made the monumental decision to give up every white carb: white bread, white Pasta, white flour, white sugar, white rice, white potatoes, etc. So needless to say, I haven't tried any white bread, but I've also been too afraid to try any other breads, mostly because of my fear of it triggering my desire to want other bread, which would trigger other carb cravings.... I know eventually I will try multigrain bread, but I'm not ready yet. My surgeon didn't tell me anything about ground beef. He said just avoid steak, white rice, and white bread. Had no trouble with the hamburger in the weeks prior to my fill. In fact, I enjoyed it a lot. *sigh*
