  1. Ya know, Gaye, it always gets me that people can't tell that we've lost weight. Hello?? I hear the, gee, have you lost a little weight? Your face looks thinner. A little? Try almost 80 lbs. I've also heard the new haircut, new glasses, and get this -- a face lift!! LOL My latest NSV is that I am able to wear a pair of Levis 505 red tab jeans again! I haven't worn those since I was in high school! OMG!
  2. JillyPoo, have you tried baked apples? My friend cores them but leaves them whole, then stuffs the hollow part with nuts, raisins, a little brown sugar (could use Splenda brown sugar) and bakes them on a cookie sheet until they are fork-soft. They are delicious! A wonderful fall treat. I eat a lot more applesauce nowadays than I used to. There are so many good flavored, no-sugar applesauces out there now. My favorite is blueberry.
  3. Broccoli and chicken (unless it is totally super moist and cut very tiny). And I just came to that conclusion last night, after I ate both of those and I ended up violently ill. Oh, and scrambled eggs.
  4. Congratulations! How exciting! And congrats to everyone else for an awesome week!!!
  5. I was just thinking about our 6 month anniversaries today! How time flies! WOW!
  6. Tammy, not only do you look great, but I love your new haircut too!!
  7. Wow, Sarah, you look great! And in a size 10 already -- way to go, girl!
  8. Congratulations, everybody! You're all doing so well! I stayed the same this week, despite my fill on Tuesday. Hopefully something will happen next week for me, b/c this makes only 1 lb lost in the last 4 weeks. Gaye, I love your new profile picture -- I almost didn't recognize you until I saw "tulsarealtorgb." Looking great! John, glad your port revision went well. CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING YOUR GOAL!!!!! You know what this calls for.... THE DANCING VITAMINS!! HOORAY FOR JOHN!!!!!!
  9. What awesome things are happening to all of us -- hooray!!! Lisa, ditto on the towels -- I love it!
  10. Oh, heavens, no! There are all sorts of people on this board, and we're all losing at our own paces. Look around some more, and you'll see. 45 lbs. is fantastic! Keep up the great work! Nice to have you join us!
  11. I also love the unjury unflavored. I add it to almost anything. Try adding it to your yogurt and cottage cheese, and you'll definitely meet your Protein requirements for the day. One scoop is 20 g. protein. It's great in Soup, also. I use it every day to make my own Protein shake with my own ingredients -- fresh fruit, carrots, greens, DaVinci sugar-free flavorings, PB2, etc. Good luck!
  12. esv2000, you might want to consider adding unflavored Protein powder to some of your foods. I imagine it would mix well into some Indian dishes. Also, although I don't know the names, I love Indian food, so try to stick with the ones that have chickpeas, lentils, tofu, and that yummy farmer's (?) cheese (with the spinach). I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored Protein Powder and mix it into almost anything. I'm unable to taste it at all. Just make sure the food isn't too hot when you mix it in, or the powder will clump up. Otherwise, it's a great way to add 20 g. of protein to each meal. Also, if you are able to eat 2+ cups of food every 2-3 hours, you need a fill now, not a month from now. You should call your doc and let him/her know that you are eating that much and still getting hungry. That means you are still in the "yellow zone," where you are eating too much and hungry too often. I know, because I have had a lot of problems with being in the yellow zone! Be your own best advocate and speak up and tell your doctor what you need and what you want. You are on the right track. You know now that the LapBand is not a magic bullet. It just helps you with the hunger. You have to do the rest. It's the hardest thing I've ever done to lose weight! But, I'm really glad I did it. Hang in there!:thumbup:
  13. Those are great! I will have to check out my shadow -- lol. I hadn't paid attention. And I love the one about the chair not tipping. That's awesome. I noticed the other day that I can cross my legs all the way now! Cannot remember the last time I was able to do that. :scared2:
  14. Update -- went back yesterday to have a refill, 3 1/2 weeks after having my unfill. I only wanted .25 cc's, but after the surgeon heard my story about eating 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and a big bowl of grapes, he was shocked! And, I only lost 1 lb. in 24 days, which has not been my pattern. So, he felt I should go up .4 cc's. I'm now at 7.15 in a 10 cc band. So far so good, but I'm only on liquids and soft foods. That whole experience with getting stuck and being too tight, then going for the unfill, then waiting to go for the refill was a setback that I didn't expect. And all due to some scrambled eggs, of all things! So, word to the wise: Be careful! Take small bites, go slowly, and chew, chew, chew. (I need to remind myself every time.) :scared2:
  15. Do you mean the PB2? I've looked for it in every store here in my area, to no avail. I just got my Byrd Mill peanut flour in the mail yesterday, and it is good, but it's different from PB2. You can definitely tell there is NO sugar in the Byrd Mill. Also, the Byrd Mill tastes like roasted peanuts fresh out of the shell. I definitely like it, but I would say, if you are looking for something that tastes just like Peanut Butter, opt for the PB2. :scared2: Any other interesting foods out there?? Here's a little tip that adds veggies to your day -- if you make your own Protein shakes, add some baby carrots to add Fiber and a little extra protein (1 g. for 10). Carrots don't alter the taste, in my opinion. I've even thrown some lettuce greens in there, in an attempt to get more veggies in my day! (However, the greens will alter the taste.)
  16. Gaye, you look fabulous!! Way to go! Hallelujah, thanks for the compliment. It's good to see you back here! I was just thinking of you yesterday because the new Jason Castro CD is coming out next month. You can pre-order it on Amazon. :scared2:
  17. ESPREC0303, great job! :wink2: Less, that is awesome! :cryin: I hope my fill tomorrow will yield me some good results. I swear I have no restriction whatsoever, and it scares me!! Happy early birthday to you! Don't skip the cake... just make it out of something different... like a Splenda cheesecake or something. :hurt:
  18. Yep, Five Guys are here in the DC Metro area (DC, VA, MD). They have very yummy burgers! :wink2:
  19. Congrats, Tulsa and Less! I miss that restriction also, Less. I get it back on Tuesday, hopefully! Way to go with the 6 lb. loss!
  20. WOWZA, Linda, you look wonderful! I love to see these transformations, also! But, truth time now, Linda... is your secret really the Jack Daniels on the shelf behind you? LOL :w00t: Mmm-hmm... we know now, girl, what you're putting in your Protein shakes. LOL j/k!
  21. Congratulations, everyone! :w00t: Another great week for the Mayo Banditos! Rebecca, don't worry, the numbers will drop again. I bet if you took your measurements now you would notice a difference in those numbers! John, good job at maintaining! Good luck with your port replacement on Monday. We'll be thinking of you. Hope your recovery is easy and swift. Please come on here as soon as you can and let us know that you're all right. Way to go, Linda! Welcome to Onederland! Isn't it onederful??? Love the picture. Like the new picture, Sassysara. Very cute. Here's to any pound down!!! I lost 3.5 lbs this week, which is a net loss of 0.5 lbs because I had gained 3 lbs. last week. I was so glad to see those leave! They left with their friends (not mine) TOM and Flo. lol Have a great weekend, everyone!!!
  22. I had a really bad head cold, and it wasn't completely cleared up when my surgery date approached. I also was taking Muccinex and everything OTC that I could think of to get rid of it the week before. I felt fine, but wouldn't you know, after they got me all hooked up to the IVs and everything in the operating room, they took my temperature and I had a slight fever! They let me go ahead with the operation because the fever wasn't over 101 and I was going to get antibiotics during the surgery. After I woke up from the surgery, I felt great -- no head cold, no fever... just a really sore tummy. lol Good luck!
  23. NCLisa, you said you've had reflux since your fill 2 months ago. I think that's a huge red flag that you need a slight unfill... even if you had some reflux before banding. If it suddenly got worse since the fill, something is wrong, according my surgeon. I would suggest you call your doc right away just to be safe because all that acid can cause damage to your esophagus and a lot of swelling around your band. The longer it is swollen around your band, the longer it will take to recover from this. Believe me, I know because it happened to me last month. I didn't want an unfill, but finally I was so miserable I went in. The doc took out .5 cc and the relief was immediate! Oh, I was sooo glad I went. I've heard from other people that all it took for them was an unfill of .2 cc. So, don't worry, you're not going to suddenly lose all restriction and gain back weight. It's really worth it for your health. Call before it gets worse.
