  1. I like a women who knows how to be a lady when it is required, but knows how to have fun when it is time.
  2. Has anyone noticed (besides me) that Meridith's lips are not symmetrical?
  3. There is a hidden cost to to the lack of Universal Health care in the USA, and that cost is the draining of jobs to other countries. GM and Ford have said that the #1 cost item in a car produced by them is the cost of Health Care Insurance for the workers. GM and Ford, and many other long established companies can not compete with companies from countries with universal health care or no health care at all. Either the USA gets a universal health care system or the jobs will continue to leave until only the rich have health care. GM & Ford, and many other companies have dumped health care and pensions from their benefits package. Insuring everyone doesn't have to be as expensive as most people think. Most people do not know it, but they are already paying for the uninsured working class. When a person without health insurance gets sick, they go to and are treated at an Hospital Emergency Room. ER's cost about 10 times as much as a regular visit. The uninsured patient does not pay the ER bill and the hospital takes it out of their revenue, but adds it to the cost that the other patients pay. In the long run, it would cost less to have the uninsured people treated in a non-ER setting. Massachusetts and California are both working on bills to work out the details of a state-wide universal health care system. I believe Massachusetts is already implementing theirs.
  4. Maybe if we did something to make the 12 million Illegal Immigrants into tax paying, SS paying, FICA paying open members of our society and working class, that would be a net plus for the system.
  5. If you look at our avatars, you will see that I am Homer (Simpson) and Lisah is Lisa (Simpson), therefor, my daughter. Go pick an avatar and you can join the family, but do not pick Marge, because that would be reserved for my Tina.:girl_hug: Laurend has explained her entry into the family.
  6. ADULTS ONLY PLEASE WARNING ABOUT RED LOBSTER RESTAURANTS This is important and worth the time to read! Warning!!Be careful if you eat at "RED LOBSTER RESTAURANTS." A young woman was having a meal at the restaurant and suddenly began to experience intense chest pains. Nothing her friends or the restaurant personnel did would relieve the pain. "911" was called and an ambulance was sent and the woman was transported to a nearby hospital where doctors removed the women's blouse. As soon as this was done, emergency room personnel were able to properly diagnosis the cause of the pain:
  7. The gentleman that spoke, Mr. Walker is the first person to make a stink about this issue since the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynahan. If the Democrats can pass the legislation to force the Medicare Department to negotiate drug prices in the Senate, and IF WE CAN PUT PRESSURE ON BUSH not to veto the bill, it will save the country TRILLION$.
  8. If you are working and your company deducts your 401k contributions from your paycheck and they handle the loan repayment, it is a great way to pay for the band. If I were you, I would increase by a few dollars, your paycheck deductions to help even things out for retirement. A few more dollars a week when young, can add up to a lot at retirement. Add half the monthly food cost savings to your 401k deduction.
  9. Parents are supposed to be their children's best friends, but when they teach children their petty bigotry, they are their children's worst enemies.
  10. Thank God for VelCro.:help:
  11. But, of course!:girl_hug::clap2: I think you mean "can't delete a thread". I just posted a reply to your post, with "testing 123456789", submitted it, then clicked on "Edit" and when the editing window came up, I selected "Delete Message", then "Delete this Message" and the message was deleted.
  12. Join in. The more; the Merrier.
  13. Did anyone see "60 Minutes" this past Sunday. Finally someone spoken out about the coming demise of our government and maybe our country as we know it, if something is not done very soon to stop putting off paying for what we use.
  14. That makes you Laurend's aunt.
  15. A boyfriend and a hubby?
  16. Good luck!! I hope the process gets moving so you can get your band soon.
  17. You look just like my daughter.

I love how the the leaders of Christian Right Political Movement forget their Christian values when they smell blood; the blood of victory that is. In the 2000 presidential campaign, I saw Ralph Reed, Director of the “Christian Coalition”, on a Sunday Morning political TV talk show. Mr. Reed told the shows moderator that he could guarantee that George W. BuSh would win the 2000 election. When asked how, he explained that his people were telling their congregations that no matter what BuSh said to attract voters from the middle of the political spectrum (Independents, moderate Republicans and moderate Democrats), he would do the things that the Conservative Christians wanted him to do when elected. When queried on the lying (by BuSh) that would be required to do that, Mr. Reed had no problem with the lying because it was necessary for victory. I guess Christian Politicians are Politicians first. Maybe Politicians only. The (Un)Christian (Never)Right Political Movement (as I refer to it) faces that same problem again in the 2008 election. Do they stick to their Christian principles or do they stick to their "need to win at any cost" principles. Need I tell you where my money goes?
  19. Allergy season in Florida seems to last for 12 months a year. I took my nasal spray religiously, and still got in trouble with them. The only acupuncturist in this town is a ultra Right-wing Christian conservative who looks like, but is slightly to the Right of Sun Myung Moon. He loves to talk politics and I am scared to allow him to use those needles on me, especially that one that saws "Jim Bowie".
  20. Just because someone has an education, it does not mean that they have sense, common or otherwise.
  21. You do fine. What you are saying is similar to the “Literal Bible versus Allegorical Bible” debate: You have faith, but you also have reasoning and thinking abilities (which were God given) and those abilities should not be thrown out in order to accept every claim, whether in the Bible or in the present day media. Did I get that right?
  22. Flonase, yes and Nasonex (not at same time) and anti-histamines and decongestants. Both the Flonase and Nasonex work for me for a while, then they stop working and finally they add to my symptoms, so I can only take them for a few months, then stop for a few months, then take them... I had similar medical problems back in Brooklyn until the late 1970's. Then I went to an EENT in 1978 and he sent me to an Allergist, a throwback to the old days who took his time and listened. After many years of treatment, I improved 95%. However, after a while, he would not play the games that the insurance companies require and stopped taking any insurance, so I could not afford to go to him after 1998 and I started with another Allergist (recommended by the first), who even though he received all my records for 20 years, refused to treat me unless I started from scratch. One of my blood tests this past week was to determine my allergies. They no longer do the skin prick testing according to the Florida doctors. Even though the skin pricking technique is time consuming and (mildly) painful and uncomfortable, it worked on me in the past. I wonder if the blood test technique is better or just more cost effective (insurance companies again).
  23. Green for President!!:clap2:
  24. I would rather live out my life and then meet God in Heaven. I see no need to hurry the end of the lives of my children and grandchildren. I see no need to hurry the start of the Tribulation. Regarding the Rapture that you are expecting: Have you ever really pondered the ramifications of it all? Are you going to be you? Or are you going to be some other being? You can't be you if you are not perfect now. Or will you still be a sinner in Heaven?
