  1. I too am VERY frustrated with no weight loss in 2 months. I am working out at the gym with a trainer, 5 days a week for 1 1/2 hours of cardio and two days a week of 1 hour with trainer and 30 min of cardio. I dont feel like I am eating all that much at all. The only thing I cheat with is a couple of cookies here and there and a popsicle once in a while. Surely those couple of things cant be hurting with all the calories I am burning...I am eating a lot of tuna for lunches, lots of chicken at dinner, apples, and protein shakes or yogurt in the mornings. And I have not lost a pound since doing all this. I was banded at the end of March and have only lost 42 lbs. VERY FRUSTRATED and wondering if this is all I am going to lose, when my body still needs to lose at least another 40 lbs. I paid alot of money for this and wanted it to work. Any answers???
  2. I am discouraged, have not lost a lb in 2 months. I have had 7 fills but very conservative, small ones and I still am not at my sweet spot. How do you know when you are there? I know I am not because I can eat anything with no restriction at all. I am going to talk to doctor tomorrow to see how many cc's I actually have and what the problem is, why I don't have any restriction after 7 fills, that seems to be alot of fills compared to other people's that I have read who are restricted after 4 or 5 fills.
  3. wow that is awesome. i too had surgery at the end of March but I have only lost 40 lbs., and it seems very slow to come off. What do you eat mostly?
  4. I too would like to know more about the restriction. I can still eat anything I want, i.e., popcorn, meat, corn, any fruit, bread, etc. I just got my 7th fill and I have about 5.5 ccs in a 10 cc band and I don't feel any restriction at all. It is frustrating, I just got another fill yesterday but I still don't feel any restriction from it. Anybody?
  5. I was banded March 27, 09. I too had a very large hernia which was repaired. I never had any trouble with it prior to the surgery. I was in so much pain after the surgery in the recovery room, I thought I was going to die. I had to wait on my surgeon to get out of another surgery so that he could come in and take out some of the fill, which once he did I was a lot better. It took me only about 3 days to feel better. Take the pain medicine as that did help me alot. I did get up and walk as much as possible.
  6. I was banded on March 27, 09 and I am down about 37 lbs with only 3.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. I have seen a lot of people on here that have lost 50 - 75 lbs or more in a year, i think it depends on how much you weigh to begin with, obviously the more you weigh the more you seem to lose in the beginning. If you are in a hurry I don't think the band is right for you. I struggle with that, wanting it to come off faster and it seems extremely slow to me. But then I have learned to eat better thru the process. Good luck.
  7. That is so awesome. Sounds like you are doing 100 percent right. I was banded on March 27th, and I am only down 31 pounds. Very frustrating as I walk 4 miles a day, 6 days a week. I am starting to think I am not eating enough or something. I had my 4th fill today and STILL NO RESTRICTION WHATSOEVER.

Awesome for you. I had my 4th fill today and I still have absolutely no restriction. I don't know what it is going to take.
  9. Geez, what foods are left? That seems like a lot of foods you cannot eat ever again.
  10. I was banded 3/27/09 and I too had a hiatal hernia repair, which was a very large tear per my surgeon. I had to stay on a liquid diet a couple of days longer as I could not keep anything down either, however I am healing fine now. Scheduled for my first fill Monday, which I am ready for as I feel now with no fill in the band I can eat way too much and I have only lost 16 lbs., and not much of any of that was after the surgery. Good luck, hope yours gets better soon
  11. Is all the belching actually gas????
  12. I too seem to have this somewhat. I was banded 4 days ago and I have had such nausea that I can't keep much of anything down. Today all I have had is about 5 bites of sugar free Jello and a little Water. My stomach makes all kinds of noises and it feels like it is tightening or something. I have been belching a whole lot as well. Is this all normal? How long before this tight feeling goes away I had to have 4.2 cc taken out at the hospital a few hours after my surgery. I also had a large hiatal hernia that had to be repaired and I am thinking that is why I am having a difficult time maybe. Any thoughts? Thanks Kathy

Wow, I think that is wonderful. If I can lose 24 lbs in the first 4 weeks I will be very happy. Sounds like you are doing everything right. Good for you. My surgery is scheduled March 27th, so I am on my 2 week protein diet, which is not too bad, but have urges to grab chips or cookies, which is the reason I am where I am now. Good luck.
  14. How has it been since the surgery? What are you eating? I am scheduled for March 27th in Conroe, Texas.
  15. What else does the doctor have you eating? I too am scheduled march 27 for surgery. My doctor has me on 2 Protein Shakes a day and two Protein meals. However I only started Tuesday of this week. Thanks Kathy
