  1. How do you gain weight eating 900 calories a day? unless you are in starvation mode.. I have a super slow metaboloism that my doctors cant explain but I think I would certainly loose weight on 900 calories a day. LOL Is this something that I should add to my list of worries for real?
  2. Hah, I love it! But I have skinny friends that still cant squeeze into Hollister. That store is insane!
  3. I'm sorry to hear that :scared2: if I was you I would start looking for other doctors now and make sure that you get a second opinion on what these surgeons say before they do anything because it sounds like they are a bit fed up with your band. Best of luck, I hope everything is fine in 2 weeks and that it is just swelling.
  4. Hah, I'm the opposite. The idea of going home hooked up to anything freaks me out and I think I would take the pain over that. Who knows though because I am not in pain yet
  5. Just wondering to those who have been through this, I dont work but I am scheduled for Wednesday and I have class the next day. Would you have been up to sitting in on a class? (its college so I would be able to get up and walk around as needed) I have two classes that have attendance points that I would like to sit in on. JW, any imput would be very helpful.
  6. I think you should be okay. I am scheduled for the 16th which is Wednesday and I have class Thursday that I really can't miss. I am figuring that I will be alright since I just have to sit there for an hour. LOL but knowing me I will be a baby and not go.
  7. Does everyone get one of those?
  8. Hey guys! Randomish question.. I am 19 and weigh about 250 (really big for my tiny height) and my main issue is with portion control. The only reason that I am not much bigger is because I usually get a lot of exercise. One of my biggest (and fav) exercises is jumping on the trampoline for an hour or two in the evening. Has anyone jumped on the trampoline since they have gotten the band? My surgeon (who has a band herself) says that their is no problem with it but I am still afraid of shaking something loose... so how about it, anyone jump on the trampoline?
  9. YAY! Congrats :sneaky: Do you have to do any kind of preop diet?
  10. Dont stress about this letter. I totally did and put it off for as long as possible because I was sure my doctor would say no. They dont have to agree with lapband they just have to agree that you would benefit from weight loss. If you are BMI 40+ they should write the letter for you no complaints. Good luck :sneaky:
  11. I lost a ton of weight last summer from traveling through Europe and stopped having my period entirely. I was a bit freaked so I took hormones to start it back up again LOL mistake jk dont be too bugged its pretty common
  12. Keep it up  LOL with the sugar atleast make sure you rule the sugar and the sugar isnt the one ruling you! Congrats youll be there in no time
  13. Maybe you should still concider looking for a new doctor :-/ he does you no good if you are afraid to go to him when you are unable to keep anything down or are having a medical problem. Just my two cents. I am very glad you are having an easier time .
  14. I too had a great insurance specialist at my surgeons. She handdled everything! I literally never filled any paper work out for insurance. I'm sorry about the high blood pressure  Im 19 and didnt even know that I had HBP until I went in and saw mine was like 120/109 (LOL the pressure is essentially the same beating or not beating ) once you get control over it you will feel much better. Good luck and hopefully you will have a speedy process towards your surgery
  15. Sorry if this thread has already been started but I looked around a bit and couldn’t find one. I think that those of us who are scheduled for September need a place to support each other, help pass the time, and not spam up the boards with a thousand approved threads:tongue2:!!! I am so excited to being this journey. So, how about it? Any lost September banders out there?:)
  16. Wow! Tell them congrats and congrats to you too! LOL i almost want to ask my doctor if its ok if I do one but I'm afraid she will think I'm nuts. She is actually the greatest and wouldnt I'm sure  I cant wait to get started :-/ its going to be a long 6 weeks for me but we can help distract each other I'm sure
  17. CONGRATS! I can't wait, like the waiting might make me go crazy What are you guys planning on doing to get ready? I havent really even thought about how much I have to change in the next 6 weeks before now oh well better get started
  18. Hey guys! I's 19 and I'm scheduled for the 16th of September and I am super nervous. I thought that the 6 month diet would never end but now that it is almost time I could really use everything slowing down. How are you guys doing? Any advice on how to make it easier? I hope everything is better now Erin :tongue2:
  19. Congrats! Ill be right behind you guys because I'm scheduled on the 16th. We can all help each other out :tongue2:
  20. I'm scheduled for the 16th of September :tongue2: has anyone found a september bandsters area other than this one? I dont have to do a liquid diet but I'm kind of sad about that because it would be nice to have a jump start weight loss before the surgery. I felt like my 6 month diet would never end but now I could do with everything slowing down a bit....
  21. I am also with CIGNA BMI over 40 but one weigh in was 38.7 right after my latest diet then yoyo'd back up to 43. I am worried I will denied because of it
  22. I am currently in month 4 of my 6 month diet. I am worried about gaining approval because of the 24 month BMI over 40 check (PCP) I started the 6 month diet at about 42 BMI and am still over 40 and should stay here. I was about BMI of 37.5 at my last doctors appointment before that however and may have been as low as that 2 years ago (cant remember for sure) would I still be able to be approved? My surgeon doesnt seem worried but then again it isnt her band at stake. Does anyone know any other requirments CIGNA PPO has?
  23. My insurance convers 50% of them because my doctor is out of network...
  24. I am also wondering if there is a minimum amount to lose? I am on my forth month of the diet and I havent really lost but my doctor doesnt seems worried about me getting approved (cigna ppo bmi 43 and 19yrs old)
  25. I just found out my surgeon is out of network. He is 9900 and my insurace will only cover 50% of it. The hospital bills seperately and my doctor preforms at in network hospitals. So I am wondering how much people payed for the hospital part? I am thinking about stick with my out of network surgeon because 1) I love her and 2) I have already started six month diet with her. BTW the surgeon price includes all doctors necessary. Thanks for your guys help.
