i had to self pay also, and it is hard to be around my gymnast daughter, she can eat what ever she wants. so i try to stay as busy as i can on weekends .i goo to the mall and just walk around alot i do spend some money but i am working out a little bit while im spending. good luck.
  3. i found the atkins shakes, at walmart but have never found slimfast. i'm in dayton.
  4. my doctor said not to do anythin like that , because the pre-op diet is the kind of detox you really need . since it is a low cal low fat diet and liquids for a few days before.
  5. amen, what are some people thinking about?

    that is awesome , congratulations!
  7. i have noticed that since i have lost weight that my port moves around , and the nurse has also noticed it. so it must be the way it is.... you will get use to it soon.. good luck with your journey.
  8. my doctor would not do a fill for 3 months post op .due to the healing of the stomach. so she said...
  9. when you decided to get your surgery ,it was pretty clear to be on a strict diet the rest of your life. it sounds like you are not eating the right foods or your not working out. i wish you good luck ,but take a look at your habits. before you judge the doctor.
  10. my insurance took the weight gain as a sign that i wasn't able to do a regular diet. so they approved me.
  11. Does anyone know how much sugar alcohol you are allowed a day? I know regular sugar is 8 grams.
  12. i only told my mom and husband in the beginning. my brother only found out about it because i hardly ate at christmas. no one really needs to know about the surgery. i just told most people that i was watching what i ate and exercised more . good luck!
  13. i had my band done 11-24-08 ,just a few days before thanksgiving. 4 days post op i had, sugar free pumpkin pie and liquid mashed potatoes with protien in them . it was probally not what the doctor would like but , when i told her she was fine with it. i have lost 75 pounds . i wouldn't eat that every day . i know how hard it is to stay away from it. good luck..
  14. I had the pain last about 2 weeks. And it was about 2 monthes after surgery.
  15. I had the same thing . My doctor told me that one of the stitches around my port may have come undone. I really don't think they no any thing but... It did go away .
