Beer.....
Pour you beer in a tall glass and let it foam up, let it sit the the fridge for 15 minutes, when you go to drink it do the same with another glass and let it sit while you drink the first one, have fun. Drink on empty stomach too!

Alcohol?
After I was banded I waited 6 weeks, and I consider myself a party type person. But I respected this procedure. I Drink Ultra beer, and bloody mary's and I enjoy life. I just dont eat a large pizza, and buffalo wings with ranch afterwards like before, because I CAN'T!!!

HEART BURN/SOUR STOMACH
Every time I go get a fill I am asked if I have experienced heartburn, Happiness1 is right you might be too tight. I drink Soda and beer (very carefully) and never get heartburn.

Afraid
Its natural to be worried and afraid, but DO NOT CANCEL!!!! Your life is going to be so much better. Its very important that you understand that the band is there to help, it will not do it all by itself (drinking milk shakes all day will not be the bands fault). My wife and I both got lapband and we have lost a combined 110lbs. and my health is so much better, im off all my meds except one, but even that was reduced to 25% dosage. Follow all the instructions they give you, I like to eat bad foods once in a while, but you will find out you can't eat as much, so you still keep your weight down. Its the best decision I have ever made, my doctor says I will live longer because of this procedure. I used to wear 42-44 waist size jeans, and now I wear 33's, I love buying new clothes and so will you. Good Luck. If you ever need anything let me know. Ramg66

help I have lost my restriction
When I feel I lose restriction, I go on a liquid and soup diet for a few days and I get it right back.

Cold all the time
I am cold all the time too! Especially after losing a good layer of fat, it was real good insulation. But I will trade this any day for my days of being way overweight and sweating all the time.

purpose of 48 hour liquids/mushies post fill
The purpose is so that *some* people do not get stuck with the new ristriction. I just always eat slower, and test my new fill. I guess what I am saying is be smart about it. Surgeon sticks to 1 or 2 days just to be safe.

Beer
I have my beer no problem, I have a lot of restriction too! I'm at a 7.20 CC and have lost 70 lbs. I drink light beer (coors or bud light) always on an empty stomach, I have no problems. I guess if I was eating and drinking I would get bloated. I can't do coke though, I do pour me a beer in a glass fast and let it foam up, then put in the refrigerator for 15 minutes, when I go get it, I prepare a second one for the next time, repeat until happy. Dont over do it though, good luck.

FINALLY the big 5-0! pics
Hello my fellow brothas and sistas, how have you banditos been? I finally made the 50lbs loss mark. It was rough, I have been gaining muscle too so it has been hard as far as weight. I hit two nasty plateau's, one at 240 and one at 225 which lasted 3 months combined. But today I weighed in at 210.2lbs. Hell yeah!!!! I don't come around as often or reply as much, but I do check in on you guys every once in a while, I have been very busy with work and family. You guys are doing great!!! Nice talking to you again. The before picture was taken the day before surgery 5/06/2009, the after was taken 3/17/2010.

2nd/Third - Follow Up Fill Experiences
Sweet!!!! What lapband do you have? I have the AP 10cc one, I got my first fill 8 weeks after my banding, it was 3cc. Surgeon only does them every 6 weeks, I was out of town and had to wait 8 weeks. My next one is Aug 19th, I feel I didnt gain anymore restriction with first fill. I wonder how much it takes just to fill the tube connecting the port and band. Did you notice a difference after your first 4cc fill?

Lets Celebrate !!!!!
Well besides wearing smaller clothes, getting compliments, not sweating as much, and being able to tie my shoes without struggling, the most important to me is I can kiss my wife on the lips while doing you know what, because my gut is not in the way. She seems to be enjoying it more too. That means a lot to me.
