6 months,60 lbs down & losing steam....
even though u have been eating bad stuff from time to time..are u still seeing the weight come off consistently??? if u are then maybe ur eating the bad stuff in moderation...which is what we are supposed to eventually learn with the band...right?? and from what it looks like u been droppin what....10lbs a month or something??? or did u loose a lump sum amount in one mnth? either way ur doing good...i know this is hard..i havent got my band yet, but im already setting myself for the rough times....but yes i agree with u..u probably need to kick ur butt back on track, but if ur loosing while eating a not so healthy meal, i would continue to eat those foods, BUT only in moderation...like once a week or something...i see on ur ticker u got 36 lbs more to go..so im projecting u will get to it...before year end....i bet u!! lol before u know it, it will be october and you'll be pushing 160 lbs....

is ur bmi below 40 for u to be concerned about having a co morb in order to be approved by insurance? If its not under 40 then a co morb isnt required.

Approved! Aetna PPO
U only need to go to nutritional visits 3x's during that 90 day period, and u need to see the specialized physician for bariatric surgery 4'xs (which consult visit is included in those 4 visits), as far as a psych, it states on the aetna website that its only needed if the patient has had PAST PYSCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS....i dont have any so if it wasnt required by my surgeon i just didnt do it at all...now keep in mind im still waiting for my charts to be submitted to insurance.....so they might pull the psych visit on me...but it clearly states the need for a psych visit on the aetna website. So im still praying to god this goes smoothly!!!

The bottom line with JPMC is they cover WLS period. The tricky stuff comes with the type of insurance u have and what insurance company u have coverage with...as all of us banking workers know..jpmc is number 1 on the banking scale...so they are all over the U.S. with that being said each state is contracted with different insurance companies....so as far as the requirements are to be approved, u need to contact ur designated insurance carrier and find out what their requirements are to be precertified (approved) for the procedure to be paid by them. I was originally employed with Bear Stearns....had awesome insurance with United health care (they didnt require any monthly pre op diet before surgery approval), then when the JMPC/Bear merge happened It changed to AETNA. I recently left the company and I'm now with CITIBANK, and im still with AETNA so my pre op diet requirements stayed the same. Good Luck to ya!

AMEN girl!!! i sooo can relate to ur list of things u cant wait to do!!!!! i cant wait till i get my band!!! i havent worn a dress that was above my ankles since 1995!!!! yes...i was 10 then...i was already self conscious of myself at that age!!! im 23 now and i want to live like one! good luck dear!!

You're probably hungry b/c of the fact that you are exercising sooo much, and b/c your body is smaller now, you dont have as much stored fat as when u first started this banded life, so now that you're A. smaller, and B. more active, your body is probably aching for more energy (food) to keep it moving the way it is....thats the only reason why i think u are feeling hungry after the 5th fill.

thank you soo much..yea my best friend is african..and she has a round big plump booty and a small waist....im soo jealous of her!!! but she hates her butt!! but i will definitely take ur advice on that eliptical... im not expecting god to give me a donky donk...just give me some "umph" back there....but as a previous poster said before, once i get rid of that rack of lower back fat and love handles, the body will form in a different way...

im with aetna ppo also, but unfortunately i gained 8lbs during my 4 mnthly visits.......did they tell u, u would be denied if u gained weight?....i figured i had to gain weight because at my initial weight in i was exactly 40.00 at my final i got up to 41.....i didnt want to be right at 40 and then go on a diet during those 3 mnths, and not get approved b/c my bmi fell below....what was ur initial and last bmi?

I have always wondered this ladies, but whether you shop in the juniors, petites, misses, or WOMENS world aka plus size...i wanted some input or help if I have this right.... sizes for an adult female (in jeans and or a dress), let me know if im right yall... 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,14,16,18,20,22,24,26,28...dont know after that.. There have been some instances where i have seen a size 13 and 15 all on its own, but its usually always in conjuctions like 13/14 or 15/16 on the tag... I wonder this b/c im currently a 20 aiming for a 12, so would i say im trying to drop 8 dress sizes or 4? Thanks for the help!

Desert dawg, dont feel that way!!! Believe me there are alot of women that like men on the bigger side....hell im best friends with two of them!!! And they are skinny chicks!! but anyways im with u on the whole fact of not getting too skinny.....as i have said in previous posts i just want to be thick healthy where i dont have to shop in the plus size stores anymore so anywhere from 70-75lbs is my goal of weight loss.....my healthy bmi for my height is 25 but im aiming for a bmi between 27-29....Curves is what im looking for under my fat not bones!! For you, im sure u would like to loose the gut and just tone and tighten up.....right?

Has anyone been put on phentermine after being banded?
lets see....i started the pill in feb 2007 at 281 and then by may 2007 i had got down to 225 and that was the last time i had taken it consistently like that....then like 8mnths later around feb 2008 i got it prescribed to me but it didnt have the affect like it did when i first started...the pill worked for me though because i worked with it...i ate 6 smalls meal and exercised 5-7 days a week atleast for an hour.....so i cooperated with the pill with eating right and exercise....so im hoping with the band if i go back to eating and exercising right i could be successful again!!

Dating, geez, HELP.
I have been blessed with a wonderful man that im attracted to physically and mentally and he is the same for me....he loves big butts...i got a flat one..lol I like tall dudes....6ft and up...he's like 5'10 175...so it checks and balances out...he likes "thick" girls...but im almost 95% sure im the "thickest" he has ever been with but he has done nothing but embraced my size and everything else on my body...thats when i knew this man really loves me and for the simple fact that he gets extremely pissed off when i talk down on myself......When I initially told him about this surgery he freaked out and still kinda is...he always say's he doesnt want a skinny girl..i told him i dont wanna be skinny i just want to be "healthy thick" where my body is proportioned and I dont have to shop in the plus size section anymore.... As many of you I didnt start having serious relationships until i graduated highschool, but I always found that men my age weren't attracted to me b/c of my weight but i would always attract dudes that were 5-10 years older. and they always thought i was there age too...so for a lil bit i dated guys 5-6 years older, I do consider myself very mature for my age also so im sure thats why i was always able to hit it off with them too, but now my fiance who im sticking with til the death of me...is only eight months older than me...go figure...!! but he has his mind right.... the fact that my man has been with me while im big and unproportioned, u better believe im gonna be with him while im sexxy and fit!!! He deserves it!

Has anyone been put on phentermine after being banded?
Im soo glad that you have posted this b/c i was successful with phentermine back in 2007, b/c it was my very first time using it...i lost about 60lbs....since then i have been on and off and cant loose anything anymore i guess b/c my body is immune to it now...but i am worried/wondering if i would have to attempt to use it if the band doesnt work...that i would have to even consider it..i hope i dont b/c i would feel horrible that even after the band i still cant lose weight unless i have that phentermine..which like i said stop really working after i lost that intial 60lbs....

That is awesome poodles...!!! i havent seen anything under 200 nor 220 since like 2000.....now its 2009....im very happy for u and i pray for the day when i can see 19?...I see u said that eating more promoted more weight loss...when did u realize u had to eat more...like how long was ur plateau??? I want to know so i can catch it asap and not wast time at the same weight....thanks

Soda soda soda
Now this is one thing i can honestly say had nothing to do with me being fat!!! I hate soda...if i drink soda its maybe about 4-8oz at a time....just to finish one can it takes me a few hours...and thats really just to wash something down after i eat...I hate soda i get that burning sensation as soon as it hits the esophagus and i feel like im drinking poison sometimes...lol i know its crazy but thats one thing i dont have to worry about relapsing to...I jus love an ICE COLD bottle of water all day everyday!!!!!!

Hello yall...well im gonna keep this thread close to me b/c even though i enjoy talkin to fellow members from all over, there is no place like home, so thats that.. I have been doing the 90 day pre op required by aetna started in dec initially but things came up in jan so i had to extend the visits and 4/30/09 was my last visit...so now im waiting on my case mgr to submit to insurance..... I reside in arlington......the new home for the COWBOYS!! My doctor is Dr. Marsden who is apart of the true results team in the dfw area. My Case mgr is from Lap Band Solutions who does all the hoop and loops jumping to get approved! This will be my first surgery ever.....and look foward to a 75-80lbs lost at the most...
