  1. They took her right after her post. I'm now waiting for kathy to get out of the recovery room!!!!!!!! Everything well, is the only report I have so far.
  2. The other person is here all by herself. She is a lot tougher then my wife. My wife wouljd have run like the wind. I'm going to spend tomorrow helping them both. Well, actaully today since it is now morning. Surprisingly the hospital was very busy yesterday. The waiting room was full when we first walked in. It took about 15 minutes to get urine, bloood, ekg, an chest exam. Then about an hour on paper work and talking to DR Aceves. I even learned a couple of things I had't ever hear. Dr Aceves, has only two sleeves tomorrow, so it is any easy day for him. Both are fresh nich stomachs.
  3. We just had a last meal!!!! The testing went fast, and we are getting ready for bed. Surgery tomorrow at 9. The Italian Restaurant was a very good. I at too much but, she loved it....I have lefter overs for tomorrow. We also met up with another sleeve patient that is getting sleeved. It is someone who has posted, but I won't say, because they may or may not want it posted. I will error on the cautions side on this one. She is a really nice person. The both get sliced and diced tomorrow. I know, not what people want to hear....LOL
  4. Ok, if you pick rich and fat, you don't get to have any surgery....you have to know that you will stay fat.... Oppps, that changes things? Maybe?
  5. Because they weren't being a moron or a liar?????????
  6. Ok, fat is Morbidly Obese skinny is in the normal range
  7. Rich for this poll is being able to buy and pay for anything you want for the rest of your life. Poor is to have basically nothing but enough to eat and a place to live.
  8. When I saw the news article about the auction for a lot of his memorbilia, I told my wife he is either seriously in money problems, or something else was going on. Maybe, his health situation wasn't all that unknown to himself? I kind of believe that was probably the case.
  9. Oooops...I'm drilling holes, not hoes!!!!! LOL
  10. Ok, here is my non scale victory. I had to buy a new belt. I kept drilling hoes in the old one, but it got to the point that the tail was flopping around. Bad news is, I lost some more weight, relatively little and have used up 3 holes already. It just now occured to me, that being closer to goal means that my waist size changes much more for every little bit I lose (loose...LOL).
  11. Boy, I think you really hit it on the head. And for the reasons you state, I think way too many people get the band, that won't do well with it. It just isn't the miracle cure, that a lot of people want. I will say, it has helped me a lot, and I don't kid myself, I work for the band, it doesn't do the work for me!!!! It just doesn't work out that way. Too bad it doesn't though!!!
  12. She has had several "last meals" already!!!!!! But, I have enjoyed some of it to....just not very much of it....LOL
  13. Well, we get on the airplane tomorrow morning!!! She is very excited. We are on a different schedule then normal for Dr. Aceves. He is doing the surgery on Sunday. I will post from the hospital and such!!!!!! :lol0:
  14. I got the last word. By saying I got the last word!!! LOL By the way, the fact that you are or aren't an RN is totally irrelevant to me. But, to the ignorant, it may lead them to believe that you have some extra knowledge or expertise in the area. You very well may, or you very well may not. But, to keep indicating it, only seems to try and give this result, when I feel it really isn't appropriate. But, hey, do as you please. If you can't see by now the error in the way you post and how it could be misleading to someone reading this later, then you probably never will. So someone will probably always have to correct what may be miscostrued and then you will act attacked, and then you will defend and then you will be a victom and so on and so on. And here is where you try to get one more word in, and probably make yourself look less credible rather then more, but it makes no difference. The corrections have been made.
  15. HMMMMM. Just to opposite for me. The second I try to leave a chat window open and open a different window to the forum, it crashes.
  16. We will be there the week before!!!!!! We will keep you posted in a new thread.
  17. I work out in the fat burning zone most of the time. And your right, it takes a lot of time to get the same result. If I stationary bike for an hour, and walk for an hour, and do some weights for about an hour, and do that 4 times a week, I will lose 2+lbs versus just 1lb, if I don't.
  18. So true. In fact working out does great things for brain chemistry and for skin recovery.
  19. Yea, you can live a long time without food, without water, you don't make it very long at all.
  20. Im around, but the you cant read posts and be in the chat room at the same time....I wish you could?
  21. This is my proudest moment. Maybe I couldn't have a sleeve, but I can still be a sleeve brother!!!!!!! I'm at 6 months. The honeymoon is over. But, I have to make this band work until they start approving sleeves. Then I WILL be revised. My wife ony has two more days until we get to Mexico!!!! She is getting excited now. I really think people like Jachut aren't likely to develop problems, or are much less likely. She works out a lot and keeps the band at a reasonable restriction. She has also had it long enough, that if her body didn't react well to it, it probably would have showed up already. My biggest problem with my band is morning is very very tight, lunch is a little too tight, and dinner is a little to loose. I overcome, by eating slim fast for Breakfast or yogurt with Protein added, lunch is softer things like cheese and Protein Bars, and dinner I can eat just about anything. It works, and I'm happy, but long term....I don't kid myself.
  22. A. the attitude that adjusting the band tighter and tighter to fix the mental side of poor eating habits, will eventually lead to band failure. You just simply can't keep tightening it down to fix yourself. Jennifer, I understand what your saying, I wonder why or if you have known anyone with the band who just gained their weight back, and if you do, why is it that therefore the band is somehow different or better in this regard. Your original post notes how you know people of GB and GS that regained, but you don't know just as many or more with the band who regained? And yes, anyone with a failure and removal counts. So I ask, why is this significant in your decision? I just don't get it.
  23. what kind of last meal should she get down there?
  24. Well my wife should enjoy it then....me, maybe not.
  25. BTW....they did a mythbusters episode on this theory, and they decided that it wasn't a myth. They weighed the matress with super accurate scales before and after a person slept on it. They controlled so many variables I never even thought of like humidity and temp. The matress gained about a pound. They said, that the rest was lost in the form of Water vapor in your breathing? They also noted that this amount is definitely affected by the amount of humidity in the air.
