Honestly, I'm getting a little fed up with the people argueing that what he is doing isn't wrong because someone else did it. Man, if we all used that kind of argument we could do just about anything and never be wrong for doing it, but then again, that is kind of what this society wants?

Yea, I hate it when any politician BUSH or OBAMA or any of them, blatantly use our tax dollars for their personal needs. He may be entitled to a night off, but he certainly should not have the right to use government assets for his personal use, and no it isn't because it is Obama, were sick of all politicians and the abuse of power.

My lapband surgeon, didn't charge extra. But, they charge a good price to start with, so I'm sure it helps cover any surprises. 500, seems like a minimal fee for the time to take care of things.

The biggest one you hit on is people thinking they should be able to eat anything and they will just eat less of it and lose weight with the lapband. It just doesn't work that way. Not in my opinion. I am basically on a diet, yes a diet, and it is just a lot easier then it used to be because my portion sizes aren't out of control. But, if I make the wrong choices and don't watch my calories, I will stop losing weight. I'm only 37 pounds away from goal. I never thought I worry about if my port shows, but I was looking in the mirror today, and it occured to me, that I may just get to that point. My wife is getting excited and since basically eating what I eat, but just more of it, she already knows exactly what it is going to take, and she will do really well.

My wife is getting sleeved on the 29th. I'm banded.

Actually, the small plane used costs about 10,000 an hour to run. So the government probably spends about 20,000 to run the same plane. This is just about the largest corporate plane available, but not the very largest. Don't kid yourself, this "trip" was no less then 100,000 in cost to us. Cost to Barack....nothing. They are also traveling regularly to chicago to eat out!!!!!!! COME ON, this is waste. It is a complete waste of tax dollars. Take your damn wife out on your own checkbook, not mine. I hate all of the trips we pay for, republican or democrat, I hate them all equally.

I'm sorry, but if you get panick attacks from something like this, I fear what having the band is going to be like for you. YOU ARE going to have serious problems the first time you get stuck and on top of that you go into a panick attack. I think you need to seriously think about if this is really the right surgery for you?

I don't think you are going to hear from many people who have been banded 10 years? But, I think the gastic sleeve in its new form, performed by the right people, using the right technique, is the future. I don't think any real miracle is coming within the next 10 years. Just my opinion.

Well, it could be convenient timing? I know, that I find the show very boring.

Carbonation is known to cause leaching of Calcium. It is bad for people on low calorie programs such as ours, and especially bad for women after menopause. All carbonation can cause a calcium problem, which many times shows up as problems with your teeth. You should switch to grean tea. You get the caffeine, without the carbonation and sugar.

Ask your fill person. They will know by looking in the chart. If they are doing it under flouro, and it is an AP lapband....look for the black dots on the fill port....one dot is 10cc, 2 dots would mean 14cc.

I think that is why your doctor is saying it is "ok for now". Later when you are tighter or if you have big swings in band tightness from it, you will need to quit. Good Luck with it, and let us know how your did. BTW....I believe the brand name FASTIN...is considered to be a little bit more effective at hunger control then the straight generic phentermine....but I have no experience to tell you for sure.

Don't eat Long John Silvers. They have a new baked menu, and it is horrible. The salmon was dry, but coated in crappy stuff, and everything was terrible tasting. Total waste, Long John Silvers is desperately trying to figure out a way to make money, but they are just too lousy at anything other then fried food.

I think Kate spends most of the year travelling, "for the show and her fans". I think the show and the fame is more important to her then the family. They are doomed. Yes, it is well known that blood pressure changes can make the band feel tighter or loser. Taking phentermine can make those changes much more dramatic for many people. Some people may fluctuate 10-30 points a day, but will jump to 20-60 or even worse in bp.

Just be aware that it can really change your blood pressure, which is well known to make big changes in how tight your band is on any given day. When you get closer to your sweet spot, and if it is changing your blood pressure, you are going to want to stop taking it, or you will be chasing the sweet spot forever.

I'm sorry, but I think you are being fed a total line of bullshit. So the doctor gets in there and "WOW, your problem isn't anything I did wrong, that you could sue me for, instead it is a mystery rejection." I have heard this before, even on this board, and it is in my opinion a total line of crap. This is just a clever way of getting you to think it is nothing wrong with what he did, and therefore nothingn to sue over. Always follow the money trail, or the yellow brick road, both will take you to the truth.
