  1. LastOption, Glad to see that you are totally focused. I understand what you mean when you said, I feel kind like I am going thru the motions regarding surgery its weird I am not nervous or scared or happy or sad I am just going thru the motions. Did any of you ever feel that way? I didn't feel nervous or scared until the day of my surgery, when I was walking to my room:scared2: :cursing:. My boyfriend held my hand, and we prayed, and then I felt better:thumbup:. On the second night after my surgery, I woke up in the middle of the night in so much pain that I woke up crying . That was the only bad day that I really had. I have lost now a total of 18 lbs and have had 1 fill 3cc's. This has been a discovery of me, people around me and and life in general. I wish you ALL THE BEST in your journey. Take your time in the healing process .
  2. I will most definitely keep you in touch with you. I will add you to my friends!!!
  3. I too was recently Banded, 12/08/08, and had pain there too. My was gas and I took Gas-X strips which are a "God sent". Walking helps also with the gas pains. Check with your doctor and good luck. I still have gas EVERYDAY now:cursing:. I guess that burping and belching are going to be a part of the NEW me!!
  4. Sorry for the "overload" in my orginal posting:ohmy:. But I was really serious, and also venting:cursing:. I realize that some people around me are not going to be supportive through is journey of mine. Also, in hindsight I should have known what his reaction was going to be. I really appreicate your comments. Are you getting Banded in January? If so, good luck!! Everyday I learn a little more about the life of being BANDED. Have a BLESSED DAY!!!
  5. I too am looking for the day that I can wear tall boot!! It's so funny that people that have never had to deal with this issue don't understand the thrill is it to be able to wear tall boots. Girl You Better Wear Them Boot!!!
  6. I just got Band (Realize Band), 12/08/08. My boyfriend was very supportive the 1st 6 days. When I start to eat soft foods he had the nerve to ask me if I wanted some ice cream. WTF!!! Granted we use to buy Walmart's Butter Peacan Ice cream, but he not only bought 1 box, but he bought 2 BOXES!!! He even bought 2 packages of Cookies, and we haven't had cookies in the house for the last month and 1/2. He was telling me that he didn't think that I should get the surgery at all. He asked me why and WHO I was getting it for. CRAZY!!! He even "joked" that he may have it get a tracking device to put on my car. Yes he does have issues!!! Has anyone else had issues with their men? Also we have been dating for over 9 years. He wants to get married but I'm not quite sure, no I know, that he doesn't have the Player out of him. T
  7. Okay, my age is 43, surgery was on 12/08/08 in Houston, TX by Dr Dexter Turnquest. My weight on day of surgery was 213, today was my 1st appt after surgery 201. LOST 12 lbs!!
  8. AMEN!! I'm new to the site as well as the Band. But I don't think that judging Oprah, is correct. I think WE ALL remember how much we diliked it when others would judge US. People in our lives and around us when WE ourselves have FAILED COUNTLESS times in our own battles with weight. I just know how frustrating and disappointing it is to fail. We have this forum to discuss and vent, as she is BLESSED to have her own Magazine and TV show to do her's. Don't hate her because of what she has, but understand her pain and frustration. Taking the Journey a Day at a Time!!!
  9. I just got banded 12/08/08....I have been having to burp" 'myself after every liquid that I try:confused_smile:. Is this normal and does it ever stop? Had to get a refill of "Lortab" today, took the doctors office almost ALL day to approve it. My doctor was Dexter Turnquest in Houston, TX. Is there anyone else that had him? What are you thought of him for after care.
