  1. thanks Barb youl have me blushing, hahahaha gx
  2. julie if you can its more expensive to fly to belgium interntionl however its only 10 mins from hotel, wheres chrleroi (ryanair) is over an hour i think. the std package at 4150 will not include txis from chrleroi but will from interntional however they will collect you from there but chrge extra on top which worked out the same as paying the more expensive flight to international, well it did for me. One big benefit of interntional is how close it is as on the morning of going home you wont be bothered going a long distnce you will just want to get to airport and get home. Its up to you weigh up the costs but for a small difference i know what i would choose. gx
  3. julie the 4150 does inc taxis but only from brussells international not charleroi, from there they add on 150-200 euro, i would just check, the complete package is good price and worht taking, less things to worry about ie lifts to and from hospital when you cant be bothered thinking, i think i speak for everyone, take the package. gx
  4. julie thats fab well done, that price is cheap if it includes taxis and accomodation its normally 4070. gx
  5. och thats rubbish darling, i feel for you, heres hoping its not a slip. keep me posted gx
  6. yip mee too sick of it and its coldness. gx
  7. Hi julie, no problem, i aint sure what his borderline is as he had bad press last year about this however if you private message(mmm) on here and ask mags (hope you dont mind me saying this mags) i am sure she will help as we were done on the same day and mags was below the BMI line, either that or eat llike hell nd put a wee bit on, another wee bit of advice is and i really should not be saying this is, tell him a false weight that puts your bmi to the right level and dont have a consultation, you can do this and when you get there you tell them you have done really well on your pre-op diet, for this to work there cant be a big difference but find out his acceptable level and see what weight you would need to be to be that BMI and decide if you think its doable. I wont go to heaven for this. PM me if you want to chat more about it. gx gx
  8. hi there here is dr chris email and his sidekick frederik, if you write a mail to dr c then frederik will reply as he manages everything. If u need anymore info just raise your hand. chris.debruyne@advalvas.be frederik.serneels@ecfs.be
  9. Hey mags nice to hear from you, thnks for nipping that in the bud, sorry about the reflux but you must be happy where you have got too. gx
  10. HI the time can vary all dependant on there surgery day. Woooo you got me there on the Ann Diamond i am not sure about her surgeon but i am aware of her story and it worried me also prior to my op, lets face it its serious stuff being operted on and no one forgets that we can all look into it and read horror stories as we can with everything in life but all i will say is the risks are way outweightd by the benefits when the band truly does its job, so taking that risk for me was the right choice as it was for 90% op people on this thread, think of the positives and look frowrd to the fututre, dont see the op as a negtive, this will get you to where you want to be. I am at the stage where if someone asks me how i have lost 8 stone i tell them with pride whereas 8 months ago i kept it quiet apart from friends and family. Oh frederik is Dr c right hand man in theatre and does ll the running around to and fro the hotels. All the best Garry xx
  11. JUdy A bit of a strong negative post, not very good for people who are just going, to my knowledge Dr C has had no mortalities so i dont know where that came from and I dont think anyone has actually said he is a hero. If he has has had a mortatlity do you know the persons full history?????a You are quite right cheper is not better however when i extensively researched band surgeons in the UK i struggled to find anyone who had done in excess of 1500 . Of course there are complication with any type of Geneal anasthetic and surgery but its keeping them to a minimum tht is the key. I dont know where you are in your weighloss travel but good luck!.
  12. the hotel in belgium is basic nd clean, not a lot around for your partners there are a few shops and food places. when you arrive frederik will come and meet you it will no doubt be late maybe 21.00-22.00 just depends when they get finished in the hospital that day so dont panic if its getting late he will show up, hell of a nice guy. its great that there are a few of you getting done the same day and that you have made a connection as this will really help each of you, you can all moan together hahahaha gx
  13. Baarbs My pleasure i just like to know things hahahaha, the fills are completely your choice, i know i would not go with anyone else but thats because i had a problem with a filland had to get another op to fix my port tubing to which ecfs looked after me as it was there fault, however on the other hand i know WLS are expieienced and cheaper, i also beleive they have insurance to cover these things but in my mind ll that is hassle. In saying all this getting a problem like mine is in the smallest of chances so you can only do what you feel to be right. Good luck you will be fine but just stick your hand up id you want anymore info. G
  14. hi, i guess you are booked with ecfs, do they know its that airport as i know taxis are included but i know they also add quite a bit for that airport, just checking as i would hate you too have a problem when your there. g
  15. hi< i never went to that airport but i think its quite a distnce i have heard about 80-100 euro in a taxi, have u booked your flights if not try and get to international s in the long run with taxis its about the same.
  16. i can completely understand you being concious about going to the gym but you will find it the opposite, people will support you. If you can bring yourself to doing that then get outside and walk and when you know no one is around and looking, pick a spot in the distance maybe at first 20 feet away and run to it, then gradually increase tht distance. Trust me after a month you will notice a huge difference and you wont even think about being concious but you need to do it 4 times a week and stick at it for a month and I promise you will feel better and fitter. Try it.
  17. all the best luv your looking awesome. gx
  18. hi lil, i was banded in feb 09 by dr chris however during a fill my port tubing was punctured in july and i had to go back in august to have it fixed which all went well, i cannot compliment dr c and his team anymore. gx
  19. welcome to you both, it is normal to be nervous but you are in great hands with dr chris he is great, the trip to belgium is pretty easy and the nursing care is fantastic, take a quiet moment and red through all the posts in this section and i am sure all your questions will be answered, if not just shout were all here to help we have all been there. g

  24. i am also fair partial to a binge drink session, the only effect it has on me is it swells my stomach the next day and my band gets super, super tight.
