  1. hi all no, no need to shave down south. g
  2. Hi all NIce to see new faces about to be banded coming on your doing the right thing, i would not change it for the world. Small tip for those near tight restriction DO NOT TRY TO EAT AN AMERICAN HARD GUM hahahahahahai did yesterday morning, it stuck and i could not eat a dam thing the rest of the day. I got another fill last week and my god its tight but its awesome, ive lost 8 pound in a week, altho this is alwys the same the first week but all good. g
  3. hi cankster i am interested to read you have a 20ml band is this a new type as i thought the johnsons one was only 14. Cheers
  4. hopikat if its any help i had to go bck for a 2nd op as my tubing was leking nd they managed to reopen just the port scar so it was not too big deal, i got let bck out the same day also and was no where near as sore as the op, very minor. I hope you will be just the same. Regards
  5. hiya no, no need to go to belgium for your fill, the dr himself does a clinic around the 2nd last thursdy of the month, he was there today and i seen him, his sidekick chris deprez does a glasgow clinic on the middle fri of month around the 19th> i know from my situation i go to see dr chris himself as i had a problem with my port and was difficult to locate and dr chris always found it ok, chris deprez is also very capable. On the restriciton front everyone is different, i am not sure if your male or female as guys bands are bigger and take more to fill, i would guess 4 to 6 fills to get to the sweetspot, u will feel a lesser restriction from about ur 3rd fill, dont quote me on this as everyone is different. The good thing is when you get to the sweetspot you will need less regular fills, for example i got a fill in oct and never needed nother till today (4 months) regards g
  6. Oh well another wee 0.5 ml in today, me thinks i am back to sweetspot, as even eating soup i have to put spoon down for 30seconds after about 4 mouthfully, yaaaasssss, sure il no be saying that in a few days but thats why ive got it. hope everyone is well. Its good to read all the new people coming on good on you, help keep this forum going. g
  7. hi baarbs I would love to say to you that itl make a difference but it wont, however your on the rod, enjoy for the now being ble to hve a wee bit of what you like as once you reach tight restriction you wont be able too. gx
  8. relax, relax relax, i also hate needles but these things are tiny and that sharp that you dont even feel it going in, u just stick them in the fatty parts, and god knows we all have them. Trust me there easy. g
  9. Fill tomorrow, thatl be me bck to super tight, soup and mushies only, yesssss, next 4 stone here we come. g
  10. hi flirty nice to hear from you, hope ur well. gx
  11. i would add about the dissolving stitches is that they start getting tight and sore before they dissolve and because they are tight they actully gave me bigger scars than the icision itself, so i cut mine and that helped. g
  12. Allan mate that f@@@in awesome well done you must be chuffed. i am stuck but gettn a fill on thurs, i am still restricted but like u i have to be super tight for it to work, so hopefully i will drop my next stage too, but once again, fantastic. g
  13. i would tend to agree, sorry. gx
  14. nae probs did u know u were a year to the day for ur op with mmm and myself, we were the friday. gx
  15. jojo dont worry a popping noise is the same as a lot of people explain it, ur port can take 6-8 weeks to heal, even when u think its better u then weeks later get a pain then panic but thats n ormal. i wud say as long as ur not jumping around or doing sit ups you will be fine. gx
  16. Freckles you have been caring for your mum night and day for the year i have known you and that is a huge burden and it will have taken its tole on you, i seen my mum do the same for my dad without complaining but it definently took its tole. What you need to keep in your head is she will get better all over care there and I am sure you will still go many times a week to see her. Your still a young woman with plenty of years to enjoy. gx
  17. Hi J God i heard tht on the news about the train crash, did it go throught the vilvoorde stn, i hope no of our friends were on it. gx
  18. happy valentines day everyone, however not a bloody card, maybe next year. hahahahaha gx
  19. sounds about right, i have went from needing a fill to nah dont need one 5 times in the last 2 weeks, sometimes i can eat platefull then next day 2 spoons, its crazy. what about stress you stressed at all. the only thing i do know is i get mega tight after a good bevvy but thats just stomach swelling with the booze. there god dam crazy things gx
  20. AS they say in Glasgow "uv goat nae chance" on the insurance thing
  21. its the vilvoorde, one book the package with ecfs direct and they will book hotels and taxi collection from brussels inter national, they willcollect from other airport but the add a hude premium which makes the cheap flights not so cheap
  22. hiya i live in glasgow also, the ryanair flight from prestwick only goes to charleroi airport which is a fair distance and additional cost at the other end not to mention the strange flight times and also the added hassle on the way home when ur not feeling the best. the best flight altho expensive is BMI from edinburgh direct to brussels international, u can fly from glasgow but these flights go via manchester or londong and are only a little less. In summary although on the face of it, it seem way more expensive from edinburgh however once u add additional taxis or train and hassle from charleroi then i know what i would choose again. I have met a few folk from scotland pre op to help answer any questions, so if u want to meet for a chat then just let me know i live in east kilbride and work all over so let me know if that may help g
  23. Hiya Ur not long out of surgery and as someone said carriejess or bobo i think the port can give you twinges for up to 6 weeks. if the hardness is around your port scar then this is probable just scar tissue or old blood, i had a huge hematoma size of a gratefruit which is a bleed inside which they never seen when i was closed up, this just feels like a ball of fat and i had to get it drained, as long as its not fiery to touch or inflamed like an infection i would say your just healing, we were all the same wondering what different feelings are nd thats why the support from all of us is so invaluable. If you feel its getting worse see ur gp or A&E or just keep in touch no matter how trivial. g
  24. jb i was tender for a few weeks, it gets tighter but thats just the healing process, like previous post sud if you get redness or heat around wound then a wee trip to doc for antibiotic will sort. just listen to your body nd relax, dont think u feel great and do too much as it will bite you back. g
